At last some ratianolity in our little debate.

Yeah that’s what I’m talking about ba-ib-nyce work!

My hubby and I picked up the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso today from Allpike Citroen. First off I was amazed at how stylish the car looks and that it wasn’t a big, bulky car. It’s photos don’t do it justice. We were shown the features by Martin from the dealership, he was very nice and didn’t giggle too much when I turned on the wipers instead of the indicator (after 2 or 3 times I got the hang of it) lol.
The inside of the car was beautiful with nifty little compartments hidden everywhere and the technology the Grand C4 Picasso is equipped with is truly amazing. I am amazed by the parking assist, such a wonderful feature every car should have. When I drove home the economy mode keep freaking me out, it shuts down the engine when you have stopped at lights and such, I kept thinking the car broke down lol.
The real tester for this car was my kids so when I brought it home we all got in and my sister in law, so 7 people, to go out for the day. The kids thought it was great, they liked both the inside and outside of the car. My 2 year loved the sun roof and I loved that the rear windows had inbuilt sunshades which you could pull up whenever needed, such as naptime for my 2 year old.
There is so much to say about this car but I don’t want to write a novel lol. I do suggest for people to check out the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso website to see the long list of features in this car and take a test drive. I am looking forward to 9 more days driving it.

I have been driving the Citroen Grand for over a week now and have been busy recommending it to other mums. I love driving this car. It has fantastic visibility with the function of a 360 degree camera and the windscreen continues on top of the roof which brings in loads of extra light.
The car is very easy to drive, has a great turning circle and feels very safe will solid doors.
The Diesel function seems very economical and I haven’t needed to fill the tank yet.
My 3 kids love the extra storage beneath their feet and the foldable tables behind the front seats. There is also easy access into the back seats.
Everything is interactive being touch screen and I love the navigation map, USB ports and self parking feature. The only thing is doesn’t do is make a cup of coffee.
I would highly recommend this car to any family who is needing extra seating space, good storage and wanting an easy car to drive that is economical.
Did I also mention it has a 6 year warranty? – That’s impressive.

Well our lovely 10 day trial period came to an end on Monday and straight away I was missing all the lovely extra features! Upon hoping into my old car I was startled to see just how much heavier it is to drive! It’s not something you notice when you always drive it (already it’s all normal again) but the difference that first day was HUGE! I miss the ease of which I could park the Picasso (by myself that is) and just everything!!!
My eldest daughter keeps looking up at the roof expecting to see the trees and then remembers lol!

Well we have been having a blast with the car until we had to put in my daughters pram to go to No.1 child’s athletics carnival….as we were toting more than the normal 3 kids there was no space for the normal reclining pram I usually use. With the rear seats up there is pretty much no space unless I put the pram in front of the middle seat…
Then there was that I had to do shopping and the kids had to sit all in the middle row so that we had the space in back for the amount of shopping we do. There is enough space to seat the three kids across the middle (with 1 baby seat and 1 booster) but it was a little painful after doing the shopping and the kids just needed a little space away from each other.
We decided to do a longer drive and found that there is no lumbar support in the drivers seat so I ended up a little sore in the back, and because I’m not exactly the tallest person (5’1) I have to raise the seat which is an awesome feature, but unless I was wearing high heels my heels didn’t touch the ground.
I’ve also noticed in the short time I’ve had it that the ECO stop start has already started to get a little rougher.
I love that the rear has the option for their own fan speed and that they don’t have easy access to the sunroof controls. I love at night to also move the sun visor back so that I can see more of the surrounding lights. It was really funny wondering if the car was telling me I was getting a little too close to the gutter when turning a corner until my partner told me it was cornering lights just to assist me seeing better.
4 days down and 6 more to come….I’m still enjoying driving this car and my kids have asked why can’t we just keep this one as my car is squishy 🙂

Well as our time comes to an end we are feeling a little sad we have to return the car tomorrow as it has become a part of our family. It was great again today when went to soccer and had to return the big ball and also fit everything else in.

I’ve been fiddling with the buttons on the steering wheel even more and keep finding more little things that they do like changing the dashboard screen to a lovely photo of the mountains which can be quite surreal with screaming kids in the car sometimes!

I also love the space between chairs and felt like I was in a recliner when I sat in the middle row with the kids the other day. The chairs recline backwards and it is so much more comfortable with still enough leg room in the back two seats. The kids love sitting in the far back, they think it’s special.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our weekend which include our mini over-night stay at the beautiful Phillip Island!

After watching our daughter and her basketball team win their grand final yesterday (YAYAYAYAYAY) we came home to put all our bags etc (yes even for 1 night you need a lot with 3 kids) in the back of the car. There was a heap of space!!! Obviously if the rear seats were in use we wouldn’t have had it all but without them the space is ample! There is also a lot of leg room for kids in the middle row and for their bags! They each had a bag with their “necessities” for the trip on the floor and it wasn’t squashy at all. I have to say it’s also a lot easier to find dummies that have been thrown on the floor in the Picasso than it is in any other car I’ve ever been in!!!

The Picasso is such a pleasure to drive on freeways! It’s not like a lot of older cars where you can hear the whoosh of the wind like the windows are open. It’s just nice and quiet!
My husband used the cruise control which works a treat and also used the speed alerts which makes a loud noise if you go over the set speed limit by a few km’s. Always a good thing to have just in case.

The fuel economy is amazing too! We put in $20 of diesel on our way to Phillip Island just because we figured it would be cheaper here than there and that’s probably all we used. With that $20 we still have over 1/4 tank and that’s after 9 days of driving everywhere including a few hours on the 3rd day going over the hills etc and then a trip to the beach and back.

We also used the navigation system a bit just to see how it worked and I have to admit it does annoy me a bit. It will get you where you need to go fine but it’s how they talk sometimes and the directions that just seem a little bit odd to me. For example today on the way home we were coming down a straight section of road towards an intersection where you can turn left with a give way sign or go straight or right with lights. As we were going straight, instead of saying go straight (or nothing as that’s the way we were already going) it says “At the next fork in the road veer right” or similar to that. Just seems a bit silly to me as it’s not exactly a fork in the road and could be rather confusing if you were in an unfamiliar location. We also noticed that at an intersection where there used to be a roundabout; it still thought there was a roundabout and was telling us to take the 2nd exit, even though the lights were put in around 12 months ago.

All in all though it was lovely to be able to travel in the CITROËN Grand C4 Picasso on our trip! It handles the roads so well no matter what the surface!

One feature that would be nice that is apparently only available in the Picasso with leather interior is the electric lumbar support and massage function. Oh that would’ve been lovely to use!!!

I only got the car yesterday and I am enjoying the ease of use with it.
I love that the middle row of seats can recline slightly as my 5yo fell asleep in the upright position and his poor head kept falling forwards so I lay the seat back a bit and he was in a much more comfortable position to nap.
I found out that because there is a sensor in the front passenger seat that you can’t place anything heavy on it or you have to plug in the seatbelt, otherwise it will continue to beep at you.
My 9yo loved being in the back until we were getting out and my 5yo undid the middle seatbelt, not realising that he had undone the wrong side, and it flew up and smacked my 9yo in the face, who was in the back row leaning forward.
You also don’t want too many tall people as the back row doesn’t have much leg room and cuts out all your storage space.

I forgot to mention how often I use the cameras when reversing or parking. Today they even came in handy when someone in front of me was reversing as I could signal to them just how far back they could come without hitting me. They are fantastic when parking at the shopping centre and the 360 degree camera shows you just how straight you are parked, which is sometimes hard to tell by looking at the car next to you, as they’re usually on a ridiculous angle, which was the case today. I was sure I wasn’t parked straight and the camera was wrong but when I got out I saw the car next to me wasn’t parked straight at all, I was secretly pleased by the CITROËN again.

Yesterday morning I got in the car alone and drove to the gym, I had the most surreal feeling. I felt that I was actually driving my own car, it felt comfortable and like home, I no longer felt that I was driving someone else’s car and it felt great! I must say I never expected a car to have such an impact on me but it has. I really enjoy getting in it each day and finding new little features.

Today it was the fact that I could leave my phone in my bag and still make a call or listen to music through the bluetooth. Also that the scroll buttons on each side of the steering wheel control just about everything on the touch screen, like the radio, calls, changing stations or devices and so on.

I’ve also found so many little storage places for books or glasses and wallets, like under the steering wheel and under the front chairs.

Yesterday was spent running errands and shopping and with 5 in the car, a large stroller, a camp chair and baby bag, I still easily fit all my shopping with plenty of space left for more! Normally in the Falcon (which has a decent size boot) I struggle to fit all the shopping in with the pram, so this was a huge bonus.

Most days we’ve had at least 6 in the car at least once and the only thing I have found to be not perfect is the middle seatbelt in the second row of seats. My mother in law was in the middle seat and when she took the belt of it retracted quite quickly back up into the roof and knocking my 3year old in the face on the way through! Who was in the seat next to her.

In Perth over the last week our weather has been all over the place so we’ve really got the best use from all the sun shades on the side and the sunroof, then it starts to rain so down they all come and ready for the automatic wipers. These little everyday features really make a difference in making life that little bit easier and of course, 1 less job for busy mum!!

My family think I’m a little bit crazy over how much I’m enjoying the simplicity of having this car, every time we go out I’m going on and on about which features I’m using at that moment and oh oh oh, just watch me reverse into that tiny spot again, without even putting my hands on the wheel!! LOL the joys of Park Assist.

I love driving the Grand Picasso and it truly makes my day easier, if only my home had this many quick and easy to use features!!!

It’s funny that the Picasso has so many different little features and should I say “hidden gems” that every day I discover something new 🙂 Usually it’s just little things that are designed to make your drive and experience easier. Such as in the boot there is a little spot on the side that has a torch in it. Nothing major but great for nights when anything can arise!
I also discovered today that when on the Digital radio station if you click on the picture to the station name more info comes up. This can be anything from the song name to the latest news and weather! I plan to play with this more tomorrow when we are driving for our little one night getaway!
You can also set the dash screen where your speedometer and all the trip info is to a nice picture.Yes these are all little things that I’m sure people won’t exactly “look” for when buying a car but are still nice little extras you get 🙂
One feature my husband likes is that you can fold the side mirrors in with one push of a button when going down tight streets etc. It’s not something I would use most likely when out in the suburbs but as my husband says there are lots of very tight streets in the city etc so it’s great to have that option.
Today we finally tried the 3rd car seat in the middle row in preparation for the weekend! We were both quite shocked to see that 3 car seats actually fit better in the Picasso than they do in our usual Ford Station wagon! We now have 2 Maxi-riders and 1 Hi-Liner in the middle row and as you can see by the photos they fir quite easily with arm rests still able to be down etc.
Tomorrow my eldest daughter has her basketball grand final then we are off to the lovely Phillip Island. Looking forward to giving the car a nice run on the freeways 🙂

Hyundai Tuscon SUV , which is a good car , but looking at the statistic’s on the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso , looking really promising and , fuel saving and comfortable and lots of room and could handle any 4WD track , and keeping you in good hands.

My little Miss 2 is sick today so all we did today was the normal School drop off and pick up and none of our normal activities. It’s lovely to be able to drive around in what feels like luxury though and I think the whole family is really going to miss the car when our trial period is over! I think Miss 2 actually thinks it’s our car so that could be interesting!

It was rather frosty this morning and usually in my car it takes awhile for it to defrost enough I can actually see to drive down our road! In the Picasso there was no problem at all! It defrosted the back and front so quickly that not seeing wasn’t an issue at all!

We are still eagerly looking forward to taking the car away on the weekend and seeing how much fuel it uses! So far we still have over half a tank! It’s lovely to not be needing to go fill up all the time!

So now I’ve never really seen myself as driving a family wagon and if you’d ever suggested I get a Toyota Torago I would’ve cringed and said “Never in my life”. So when I went to pick up the Picasso I was a bit apprehensive as to how I would feel but after five days of driving around in the CITROËN I feel just as excited, sporty and luxurious as I did on Day 1. I don’t feel like I’m driving a wagon and it sure doesn’t look like a 7 seater troop carrier from the outside. All my friends keep commenting on how gorgeous, stylish and compact it looks and I totally agree, we’ve all just fallen in love with it.

So after our trip down south and we’re on Day 6, we’ve driven a total of 700km and I still have 1/4 tank in fuel. I would never get this amount of km’s from my Falcon and that only carries five people. I didn’t notice any difference in the driving of the car with 2 or 7 passengers, which is great. On our last day away it poured rain all day on and off and it was just amazing how the wipers would automatically come on and off and go fast or slow depending on the strength of the rainfall. My husband drove home and was very happy with the wipers, he could concentrate more on using the speed limiter (which is good as he can sometimes be a little lead foot). Its great how you can quickly put a limit on the car and it won’t go past that limit even if your foot is flat to the ground. This is awesome when going through school zones.

Last night my daughter had soccer and we got to bring home the big soccer ball, which she was just over the moon about. As you’ll see from the photo, the ball is big and we never get to take it home in our sedan cause it just won’t fit, but with the two back seats down it fit in easily and still with the soccer bag, camp chair and more!
I keep finding more and more things I love about this car and am not looking forward to the day I have to return it! So far it’s been the perfect car for my family and I.

There is one more thing I have to mention that I just love about this car and it’s the ECO drive! This is a device that stops the car at every intersection or stop sign or just whenever you brake and stop. Its a counter to save petrol and energy and I feel like I’m helping save the ozone layer every time it’s on and this makes me feel good!

I am the worst person in the world for losing my keys in the bottomless pit that is my handbag. But with the Citroen, I don’t need to waste time digging for them. It has keyless entry and a push to start button, so as long as the keys are close by, I can get in and get going. This is such a great feature, particularly while I’m trying to wrangle 3 boys into the car as we rush off to school or activities.

I’ve also found the car to have great visibility. While it took me a little while to adjust to the larger windscreen, I’m really going to miss the ‘view’ from the driver’s seat.

Driving the Citroen has been an absolute dream. I am very sad to be handing it back tomorrow and I think the boys are going to be very disappointed to have our old car back. Fingers crossed we will be back in a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso on a more permanent basis soon!

Who needs to watch movies in the car when you have a MASSIVE panoramic sunroof! I often let the boys take a portable DVD player on longer trips but since we’ve had the Citroen, they have absolutely loved looking at everything that’s happening overhead, particularly at night when the stars are out.

Something else that has also caught my attention is how fuel-efficient the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is- it’s almost time to give it back and we have only JUST filled it up with diesel…how good is that! My main hesitation with people movers in the past has been their reputation for being ‘petrol-guzzlers’, but the Citroen is proving me wrong every day!

I never used to like driving so much until now. If only the 10–day test drive could last forever.

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry this review is so late. I’ve been dying to post my reviews, but technology isn’t on my side at the moment. Anyway enough about that…onto the CITROEN!

I was expecting a 7-seater car to be absolutely massive, but the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is very stylish and doesn’t take up the whole road. As you can see by my two snoozing boys in their car seats, despite being more compact than other people movers, it is still very roomy (and extremely comfortable) inside. I often make long trips with the boys in the car, so this makes it much for enjoyable for them.

I mentioned it briefly before, but my favourite feature would have to be the 360-degree camera. With three boys in the back, it is often difficult to see behind me properly, and I tend to find parking with them all in the car to be a bit of a challenge. But with the 360-degree camera along with the rear-view camera, parking was a breeze- even for someone who is used to driving a much smaller car.

The whole family loves the Citroen. My husband keeps pleading to get in the driver’s seat (in his dreams ha!). It’s going to be so hard to give this car back to the dealership.

Now that for the last 2 days I’ve driven this car plenty my original fears of “OMG its so new and scary” have completely faded! I can even indicate without turning the wipers on (OK so I still do it occasionally lol). I’m really enjoying driving the Picasso and the features like the automatic wipers have been getting quite a workout! I’ve also been driving at night a fair bit and love that I can see everything! I know a few people have said the front is like looking out of a plane cockpit and I have to agree! It’s so wide and bright and it really gives you a comfy, safe feeling!

I will admit however that I don’t think I’m the biggest fan of the park assist! I am yet to try it myself and maybe I’m just old school in that I like to do my reverse parking myself. I DO trust the car and its cameras etc but when my husband used it the other day, as a passenger I was sitting there pushing my foot on the invisible brakes because it gets a lot closer than I would usually feel safe with. I’m sure this is something I would get used to in time and as I learn more about the car etc but I’m just not fully there yet.

I have also put 2 photos up so you can see the difference in boot space when the rear seats are in use compared to with the rear seats down. It’s certainly a big difference and once again I don’t think you would have much storage room at all if your family used all 7 seats.

Today after School my 2 eldest girls got their wish to each have a friend come home with us in the car!! All the back 5 seats were in use and the chatter on the way home was certainly very interesting! Lots of “Ooohs” and “Ahhhs” and “Wow that’s so cool!!” Driving home when it was dark was also very funny as the girls realised that with the glass roof cover on; every time you go past a streetlight it lights up orange! This time the comments from Miss nearly 3 were “Fireworks Fireworks!!!”

We are all looking forward to our little weekend getaway and will be testing if a 3rd car seat will fit across the middle row!

Well we’ve been really enjoying the Grand Picasso over the last two days, most days the hardest part of my day is getting in the car, getting out the car, finding the keys, trying to open the car, looking for the keys again, holding the keys and so on, but the Picasso is just really making my life so much easier. The keys are in my bag!! I can still open the car, put the kids in, start the car, stop and get out the car and lock it and guess what? The keys are still in my bag, not around my neck or in the boot or lost in the baby bag but in my handbag, right where I left them.
Day two was spent doing the usual errands (which involved me walking towards the car with my hands full and chuckling to myself because I didn’t need to put it all down on the floor to find the keys! LOL) and then a trip to the beach with all seven of us in the car, the only problem was not enough boot space for the pram, only the stroller.
My husband is having fun changing all the displays on me on the dashboard so when I get in the car I have no idea where to look for things. There’s lots of little things you can change to make the car just that little bit more personalised, which we love.
We’ve all come down south for a couple days on Day three and she drove so smoothly I have to keep putting the cruise control on as I don’t even realise how quick she picks up speed. So many things happen automatically, like the wipers, cruise control, blind spot monitoring and bluetooth, that I can concentrate more on the road rather than pushing buttons or watching my speed. Sometimes I even forget to put the car in gear first, as it starts and takes the park brake off all at the push of a button. We were all so comfortable with plenty of room in the seating area and managed to fill the boot even more than I expected once I found the storage spots under the back two seats.
I can’t wait to see what I find over the next two days!

As our review period with the Picasso winds down, the whole family are feeling fraught at the thought of squeezing back in to the hatchback again this week (and what will I do without Park Assist? 🙂

Both my husband and I have REALLY enjoyed driving this car and the kids have loved travelling in it too. We’ve been SO surprised that a ‘People Mover’ could become our new most-wanted, and I’d say this new CITROËN Picasso will be a bit of a game-changer in the category.

Today for the first time we filled every seat, and with two 7-year olds in the 3rd row, it was a comfortable and fun ride for everyone. My extremely tall brother-in-law was quite shocked at how much leg-room he had in the middle (quite rare apparently). When there’s just the five of us though, the huge boot is fantastic- and we are big fans of the under-floor storage too.

It took the 7 year-old to show me how to use the pull-up shades on the passenger windows, and combined with the transparent roof (with electric shade covering) and the individual air-con. controls, this is a lovely car to be a passenger in.

For a driver, as well as being superb to handle, the dash-board is loaded with EVERYTHING you want. The Bluetooth phone connectivity is brilliant, the integrated GPS is easy to work on the move (while stationary I mean!) and the option of digital radio is an awesome added bonus.

The fact that these great features come in such a safe, fuel efficient car is what is most important to me though. Front, side and middle row airbags, ABS, 5 star ANCAP rating.I’m very happy to have my family travelling in the Picasso.

It’s made a such a difference driving a car so perfectly suited to our needs (as well as our wants) for the last ten days. I highly recommend the CITROËN Grand C4 Picasso as the ultimate city family car, and as for us, we’re seriously considering a French addition to the family!

Sorry I remembered a few features we used that I had forgotten to mention 🙂

Firstly the automatic wipers! I love this feature! It wasn’t exactly raining yesterday but a few times there was a couple of spots and with this enabled the wipers just come on when they need to! Fantastic!

The headlights are also excellent! They came on during our drive as it was around 4.30pm and getting a bit darker! My husband also drove it to the shops last night and said they were very bright! He also said they have cornering lights so that when you put the indicator on another light comes on that side just to make it a bit brighter going around the corner.

It also has curb lighting so that when you get out of the car at night time a light shines from below the side mirrors down to the curb so you can see and not trip over!

The last thing I forgot to mention was the keyless entry and locking. My 8yr old has taken to being the chief car opener and locker! As long as the key is close enough to the car (usually in your hand or pocket) you just touch underneath the car handle to open the car and touch the handle again to close it. Of course you can just push the button on the key or lift the boot but where is the fun in that for an 8yo 😉

Yesterday we went to basketball in the morning and my husband decided to use the manual gear shift. He has always loved driving manual cars so enjoyed being able to shift through the gears himself and it was a very smooth ride!
In the afternoon we went for a lovely drive out to some mountains going through suburbs on the way and back through the hills and rural areas on the way back. We set the speed limiter on which is great if you like being warned when you may be a few km over. We also turned on the blind spot feature which I personally love! It shouldn’t take away from doing your head checks etc but it was comforting to see the red spot light up on the mirror when a car was in the spot.
We started the drive with my nearly 3yo and 6yr old in the middle row in their Maxi Rider seats and my 8yo in the back row. After driving for about 30 mins Miss 8 decided it wasn’t very comfortable as she was feeling tired so she moved to the 3rd seat in the middle and said that was much more comfortable. I think the back row seats are good if you have extras to drive around but otherwise I would use them only for short trips. This is good actually as with the back row seats in use there is no way we could fit all the luggage we would need if we went away but with them down we could easily! We will test this next weekend when we go away for the weekend 🙂 It also makes me feel safer as I can never get over the fact with any car with a tiny boot and little room between the back seats that in a rear-collision (someone hitting the back of us if we are stationery) that it would be more dangerous for the people in the back row. Trust me I don’t know how true this is and I’m sure this car has great safety features but being a Mum (and an avid watcher of Car crash shows etc) I still worry about this.
It really is the most comfortable ride though the head rest just doesn’t feel completely right when I lean my head back on it. The kids love the trays in the back of the seats and were storing their iPODS in them though the constant opening and closing of them got a bit annoying (a novelty I’m sure would wear off lol). Both my older girls also discovered a love of the window sun shades!!
The eco mode where the car turns off when stopped at lights etc is very strange but a feature I really like! As a driver of cars in the past that liked to stall when stopped at lights (auto’s with issues) whenever it did that for the first bit of the trip I instantly thought it had died; but then quickly remembered it was just the car being smart 😉 Even with that mode enabled the car still has power when you take off.
We have also discovered that the car is a big talking point!!! When we were stopped in a small town having some food a couple parked next to us commented on how new the car looked. We then spent the next 10 minutes chatting to them and showing them all of the cars features etc 🙂
The only thing I discovered yesterday was that when scrolling through the list of radio stations using the up and down arrows it would often jump way past where you wanted to be. When I used my finger to scroll though it wasn’t as touchy and when where I wanted it to.
Today my husband took the kids out to some local places and used the reverse park assist for the first time! He loved it!! He said it is strange/different to just sit there, put the car into reverse or drive and have it do the rest!! I will get to try this out tomorrow when I do School drop off for the first time where all the parking is reverse parallel.

WOW!, what a wonderful and exciting day! It was our first day with the CITROËN Grand Picasso and so far it’s a winner! We love it! My first impression when I took a seat inside the car at the dealership this morning was luxurious, roomy, bright and open. I can’t get past the front windscreen, I can see everything around me, which is a wonderfully liberating feeling when driving through Perth.
My three children are so over excited it’s ridiculous especially when we picked up Nan and Pop from the airport tonight. We all fit in quite comfortably, so that makes 4 adults, a baby carseat, a toddler carseat and a 10 year old with suitcases and all!! And you should see my mother in laws suitcase! LOL The boot space with seven in the car is a little tight though but we made it home safely and comfortably.
Driving at night was a lovely experience, we loved the mood lighting inside the car while driving and the extensive view above our heads as we had the most amazing moon out tonight and the CITROËN gave us the best view ever.

Today my husband picked up the Picasso from South Yarra after he finished work. I was at home with 3 very excited and incredibly impatient children standing at the windows waiting for him to come down the road! It’s probably a good thing my husband was the one to pick up the car as I had a splitting headache all afternoon and there is that many wonderful features that I don’t think I would’ve been able to take much in 🙂
Basically as soon as he pulled in the driveway the girls were out the door and straight into the car! My husband explained everything to me and showed me how it all works. All I could think was WOW!!!! When you first hop in and sit down the first thing that comes to my mind is LUXURY! Everything just looks perfect and very hi-tech!
We put 2 Maxi Rider car seats in the middle row and being that these are one of the larger child safety seats I’m not too sure that another would fit in the same row. A child could certainly sit in the 3rd seat though my eldest is excited about being in the back row by herself!
I get to have my first drive tomorrow morning and then we’ll go for a family outing in the afternoon to really test all it’s features!

Final review for the Citroën C4 Grand Picasso

The last few days of my test drive have been fun. I have driven kids to school, swimming lessons, and the usual mum trips to shops and work.
Friday night I drove for the first time at night. The lighting is fantastic. The headlights are bright and high beam works well. We really liked how the lights light up around the corner as you turned. The mood lighting inside the car was very helpful too.

Using the Bluetooth phone option when my phone was paired with the car was easy and legal.

I have been very impressed with the fuel economy. I have done just on 500 km and used just under half a tank of diesel and that is with turning off the Eco mode.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting the option of a seven seater car with great visibility, safety features, economy and lots of room. If only it came as a 4wd with the extra height clearance to drive up my regular short cut track I wouldn’t want to give it up.

It’s our last day having this great car…..sigh….
The kids keep asking me why we can’t just keep this car…..we have really enjoyed having the opportunity to trial this car and let others know what we thought and felt about different aspects of the car. It was a little funny when we filled the car up with adults for a quick drive we found that unless you move all the middle row forward there wasn’t enough space for their legs.
We loved the comfort of the rear seats for everyone but they definitely need to look into lumbar support for the drivers seat.
Found out also that if you have anything heavy on the front seat an alarm sounds until you click the seatbelt in.

I got my partner to have a drive and that was funny….he’s 6’1 and his head almost touched the roof. It was great that he was able to lower the seat enough for him to drive comfortably and had plenty of space for his legs once the seat was moved back.
We loved how you could recline the middle row seats as no.2 child fell asleep in his booster and we had to lay the seat back so that he wouldn’t hurt his neck.
The only thing was no.1 child kept having trouble getting the side seat to fold forward for him to get in or out (me or daddy had to do it for him) I’m sure once he got some more muscles it’d be okay but it frustrated him that he couldn’t do it on his own…..but was very jubilant when he managed to get it twice on his own.

So, did I say was nervous about using the Picasso’s Park Assist? Surely not! Now I’m just kicking myself for not getting it cranking in the first few days. It’s astonishingly simple to use (via the touch screen) and with such limited parking around where we live, this feature is absolute gold. I’m getting in spaces I would normally drive past, which is great.

Another thing I was feeling unsure about was being able to take off swiftly in to fast moving traffic. I’m thrilled to be able to report that this was purely a personal ‘adjustment’ issue, having never driven a diesel car before. I’ve now got the hang of exactly how much pressure I need to put on the accelerator, and the Picasso handles superbly.

With half the house now struck down with illness, Dad had to do a late night chemist run last night, and he came straight home from the drive and opened the CITROËN handbooks.

“Darl, did you know that the Park Assist, 360 degree camera, diesel engine, sun roof, blind spot monitoring… they’re are all included? At this price?” he asked me.

“Ah, yes?” I replied.

Admittedly I have not been the one doing the research for our next car purchase, so I had no idea that features like these that we both love, usually add significantly to the cost of the ‘base’ model.

“I can’t believe I’m liking a people mover so much. I’d definitely consider buying this car…” he said.

As the title suggests we loved the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso!

From the moment that the sales representative at Citroen drove us through South Yarra to show off this beautiful car and also to point out all the necessary features I knew that it was love at first sight. This luxury family car also proved to be a hit with the rest of the family, we have 3 kids under 7 so with 3 car seats in tow our current car does not allow us to have any extra passengers but things obviously changed with the Grand C4. We were suddenly able to take along family and friends which proved invaluable to my 6 year year old and also to my husband especially for Saturday rugby!. Each and every person that got into the car commented on how easily the Grand C4 glides along, and also how many buttons there were!. To be honest this made me nervous at first but within a matter of minutes I was completely confident. My favourite had to be the 360 degree camera image of the car which enabled always perfect parking, and the cruise control!.

The fuel economy is amazing, we seemed to drive endless kilometres but only needed $50 to top up the tank with diesel before (sadly) returning it to the dealership.

One feature that we were able to briefly trial on another Picasso in the showroom (not the one we had for 10 days) was an upgraded version with footrest, leather upholstery, lumbar support and adjustable electronic massage function.

My son has already commented that he is very upset that the nicer blue car had to go back and I have to completely agree, but we still feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to drive around like royalty for 10 days, and hopefully we can drive it for longer than 10 days in the near future!.

Saturday mornings are always crazy in our house. The day starts as we squeeze in to our hatchback to travel to some faraway sports ground for our little guy’s footy. It was such a different experience this week!

The kids were thrilled to jump in to the CITROËN and couldn’t believe how much space they each had (hello- no fighting!). When they discovered the pull-out tables from behind the front seats “just like the plane!!!”, they were even more delighted.

It might sound like a small thing, but for me, being able to take out our big, comfortable pram for the baby rather than the portable fold-up one makes such a difference to the day. It means she’s able to have a good sleep while we’re out, which results in a happier day for everyone.It’s going to be very difficult to give up this magnificent boot (and leg and body) space!

For a ‘people mover’ with so much space, I find the ease of steering in the CITROËN quite astonishing. The Picasso is light, light, light and SO easy to drive. Seriously- the steering on our Golf is noticeably heavier.

The only aspect of driving this car that I am finding a little challenging is that it doesn’t seem to take-off as promptly as I’m used to. As far as I know, this can be an issue with diesel cars (compared to petrol), so it’s certainly not just the Picasso per se. As we live in a built-up area with heavy traffic, I really need to know that my car can turn quickly in to traffic. I’m looking forward to ‘getting to know’ the Picasso more, and getting more confident with putting my foot down, so to speak.

So, on to today. Unfortunately our plans for a long Mothers Day drive and picnic were scuppered when our poor old 5 year old woke up with an ear infection. So, the only trip the Picasso did today was to the local doctors surgery. Just driving in to the car park was a revelation though, as the car’s headlights automatically switched on to adjust to the darker conditions- very cool indeed!

Also great is the Picasso’s width- just perfect for slipping in to a shopping centre car park space, leaving a good decent gap on either side (unlike the Land Cruiser that was next to us!).

Tomorrow, it’s going to be all about using the park assist. I’ve relied on my manual skills while I’ve been getting to know Mr Picasso (with some help from the amazing 360 degree camera) and now I’m feeling confident enough to employ all the bells and whistles.

Can’t wait!

All I have heard from my kids this arvo is I wish we still had the other car. When I dropped it back to Allpike Citroen my toddler was trying to climb back in as I was removing his car seat. He cried when we got into our car we own.
Now I’ve been like most people all my life about cars, as long as it gets you from A to B that’s what matters. As I drove home I was thinking there’s a lot more that matters. I don’t know how much time everyone else spends in their car but I do schools, specialist appointments, 3 sometimes 4 different sporting events a week, shopping and also helping my family out when they need a lift somewhere. So I do spend a lot of time driving which makes me think, when you spend a lot of time driving wouldn’t you want to be driving in comfort, style and most important safety? Well that’s precisely how I’ve been driving the last 10 days. Thankyou Mouths of Mums, Citroen and the wonderful staff at Allpike Citroen because I loved driving the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
P.s I did hug the car and my kids said their goodbyes and told it they would miss it. This car is now on my wish list

a friend of mine has this car and i have ridden in it many times with her. its such a smooth ride, its easy to drive, it is roomy so all the kids and their bikes and toys fit in comfortably and it runs well. it has a stylish look and is definitely a head turner. the bonus 6 year warranty is reassuring and it comes at a decent and very affordable price

So I take back the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso tomorrow morning. Today was great as it was my sons bday, he turned 2. He loves the Picasso so we did our usual school runs and a few visits to family members. We have driven the Picasso a lot these last 10 days and I am sad I have to take it back.
I do urge you all to take a test drive to see what I’ve been raving about. Although the large windscreen and different set up take a little bit to adjust to, I promise it only takes a day really at the most. The Picasso has the best safety features I’ve ever seen in a car and it just doesn’t look like a people mover. It’s very stylish. I must applaud Citroen for really putting a lot of thought into designing such a fantastic car. Every feature the Picasso is equipped with is there to make driving in this hectic world the safest and most comfortable for your family.

When reviewing the Picasso I didn’t want to give you facts you could read on the Citroen website. I hope that I have expressed the features that have impressed me and that everyone has enjoyed reading about it. I will tell you that pictures don’t do this car justice and urge you to at least check it out at a dealership. Now I better go clear out the Picasso of my family’s belongings and just ask one question… would it be extremely sad of me if I hug the car goodbye? Lol.

We took delivery of the CITROËN Grand C4 Picasso today- and wow. WOW. It’s such a great looking car (this coming from someone who’s never been a fan of people movers), and the features are exceptional.
I’m going to be honest and say that as well as being excited, I’m also a little intimidated. I’ve never driven a car with push button ignition before, let alone with advanced parking assist. Come to think of it, the latest model car I’ve ever driven is 2006 (my current VW Golf) and I use a plug-in GPS, so clearly I’ve been driving in the dark ages 🙂
I’m really glad we have ten days to get to know the Picasso, because I really think I’ll need this long to get familiar with all that it offers. I can already say though, the level of space and comfort is just superb…. now to drive it!

Today I wanted to see how roomy it was sitting in the 2nd and 3rd row of seats in the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and my hubby was so happy he got to drive it again. 2nd row of seats is very roomy and comfortable. 3rd row of seats was comfortable but as with most 7 seaters there wasn’t room to stretch my legs, nonetheless it would still be comfortable on a long drive. I did find it remarkable easy to get out from the 3rd row of seats. The bonus is that the 2nd row seat is very easy to move even when done by passengers in the 3rd row.

Another one of the many features I love is that the air con can be different temperatures on either side of the car. So when I drive I like to be cool and my hubby likes the temp warm so I set my side cooler than his and I’m able to be cool without putting a window down and freezing my toddler in the 2nd row seats.
I am so used to driving the Picasso now that my kids are amazed that I mastered all the steering wheel controls for the technology in the car. I don’t want to go back to driving my car. Who could want any other car after they’ve driven the Picasso?

So my son had walks competitions for Little Athletics today and I was a bit sad that it was a bit of a walk from the carpark to the comps. I wanted to show off the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. It’s ok though on the drive there we get plenty of ther people checking out this amazing car. Driving down Tonkin Hwy was a breeze when needing to change lanes with the blind spot indication light. I feel so much safer when I drive my loved ones in the Picasso. 2 days left with the Picasso and I wish it was ours. All my family love it

Day 6 of the Citroën Picasso test drive

Today was the real test of just how roomy this car is! I had 2 seven year olds in their booster seats in the very back with their school bags in the boot. Then in the middle was the 12 year old with her bag on the seat next to her, behind the driver was the 16 year old 5foot9″ girl with her school bag on the floor and front passenger was the 6 foot 3″ 16 year old boy. Even with the front seat almost all the way back there was room for his long legs and room behind him. In the middle the ability to move the seats individually also meant there was room for legs and bags. The seat belt alarm system sent the kids into fits of laughter when the 16yr old worked out he could lift himself off the seat and confuse the sensors. The seat belt sensors also don’t like me leaving my handbag on the front seat as it thinks there is a person without a seatbelt on.

The 16 yr old boy had a great time working out all the buttons on the touch screen interface and quickly worked out the navigation system (which I was still unsure how to use).

After months and months of drought in Perth it finally rained and having the auto sensor windscreen wipers was interesting. To start with they seemed to just get faster and faster but switching them to off and then back to auto seems to reset it and it worked beautifully after that.

With very wet and slippery roads it was reassuring knowing that the car had all the safety features including ABS with EBD and EBA. I really like the speed limiter function so I am not constantly watching the speedo, especially in such rainy weather, not that I reached the speed limit often on the drive home.

During day 4 & 5 we really put the Citroen to the test finding out more net thing about the grand c4 PICASSO. We where able to drive the car up around winding bends and mountains in the rain and found the handling and safety great (a small body roll) put the cruise control to the test and was impressed with out well it was to use having it all on the steering wheel it’s a touch of the button. Our night adventure prove to be rather bright with a bit of getting use to the hi-beam and auto lights , the driving lights are fantastic with full front view of what’s in front of you and on the sides. Was was even better when revering not only do you have the reverse cameras at a 360 degree view or front or rear but the side mirrors also tilt down to give you a better back view. Which was great at night as well, a few little secrecy the Citroen hides ; a touch in the back compartment of boot and when opening the tailgate the breaks light tuen off. 😉 a few other secret lockable compartments under the 2nd row of seats great for the kids belonging so there not rolling around the back and there is also one under each front seat , which doesn’t clog the clove box up , also go hide the goods if your I a car park . We where also surprised how warm the back kept with having the roof shade open with the back heater/ cooler controls keep it easy to not having it blowing directly in the kids faces as well, the only thing that day 4 & 5 shown I’d the back boot / tailgate , for someone like me a shorty when open it take a big stretch to get maybe if they where to put in a option of a strap that you can grab would make much easier. 🙂 and the digital radio I’m not sure how I’m going to enjoy driving without it.

Its been about six weeks since we returned the Grand Picasso back to the dealer and we all really miss driving around in such a luxurious and simply awesome car. We drove past someone driving one test and my husband and the kids both jumped up screaming ‘look, look its a Picasso!’ We have such fond memories of driving the Picasso and often think about our wonderful ten days driving around in Bliss, thank you MOM for the experience.

Lost it laughing tonight. Hubby went to get a carton of beer in the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and he put it on the front seat. He comes back and tells me the Picasso started beeping at me because it thought the beer was a person that didn’t have their seatbelt on. So I asked if he moved it to the floor and he told me no he just put the seatbelt on it lol. So not only does the Picasso care for my family’s safety but also our beer’s. Also my mum had a drive of the Picasso today and was highly impressed at it’s ease to drive. She doesn’t quite trust that the speedometer is computerized and, like me, a little concerned that with all the windows and extra large windscreen how hot the interior would become on a Perth summers day. Other than those 2 things, she could not believe how great the car is. I like the parking sensors for when reversing into my driveway and I love that when I have my hands full with a toddler and shopping, all I need to do is touch the door handle to lock the car. The Picasso is everything you could want and need in a car. Sorry I’m catching up on pics and this one is from when we went to Mandurah(day 3) and my son’s mate was over. It was so nice to have the seating for us to all go out

Day 4 & 5 of the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso test drive

Yesterday I did the school run with extra kids, the boys sat in booster seats in the very back row with plenty of room. Their school bags fitted in the boot but nothing else would fit. The almost teenager girl sat in middle with her school bag next to her and a spare car seat on the other side. She still had lots of room. The kids wanted the music loud, the adults in the front wanted to talk, so very easily adjusted the sound to the back speakers which kept everyone happy.

I have been driving today with the Eco option off and after 5 days the tank is still more than three quarters full. The fuel economy is fantastic.

I am finally getting use to having the indicators on the opposite side to my own car which means the windscreen wipers aren’t being used as much. Hopefully in the next few days I will try the wipers out properly (if it ever rains in Perth).

Day 6 and I feel like the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso was made for my family. The kids are still excited every time they get in it and I’ve noticed that my 2 year old willingly jumps into his car seat because even at 2 he loves the Picasso. The safety features still blow me away and I really do believe there would be a lot less car accidents if every car was equipped with the safety features the Picasso has. I have driven a lot these last few days and still the Picasso has over half a tank of diesel. It also quick off the line for a diesel too and a lot of the time I reached 60kms so quick and because it runs so smooth you always feel like you are driving slower than what you are. But this is where the fantastic speed limiter comes handy too. I really don’t want to drive any other car but the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and my hubby feels the same way. Oh no those 5 days flew by, I’m already thinking how sad it will be when I have to take back the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. I would have to say this car is perfect for our family. We have 3 kids that live with us and my step son stays once a fortnight so having a 7 seater is fantastic. I will admit that once all 7 seats are in use that it doesn’t leave a lot of storage space but Citroen used every bit of space available and put hidden compartments anywhere they could. This people mover really has it all though, style, comfort, safety, economical and easy to use technology. I am in love with this car. I showed it to my 20 year old sister today and she thought it was great too. I am now starting to run out of family and friends to show it too lol. And must apologise for not posting pics before, seems I was too eager to submit my previous reviews and didn’t give the pics time to download. 5 more days of driving this fantastic car.

My mothers first car was a citroen. a nice brown one! we lived it. she used to take me to ballet nd my brother to soccer nd do the shopping etc. was very sad to see it go. so i had heard so many ppl raving about this citroen i just had to call my local car dealer and arrange a test drive. i hv to say it was nothing like my mothers clunker! Talk about riding on air! WOW. comfort upon comfort nd safety upon safety. so many gizmos nd buttons nd switches nd dials i thought i was in a spaceship. nd so did my two boys. i did the driving (nd didnt want to.stop) nd my boys fiddled with the radio nd got sm of their own music blaring thru the amazing speakers…i thought we were in a nightclub with the loudness nd sound quality! the little light that kept flashing in the side mirrors had me worried until my eldest book bug boy but(reading the manual) told me it was a blind spot indicator nd that mercedes have them too. we wrre actually away from the dealer a little too long nd got

Day 3
This morning our Church had an open air service at local Whiteman Park, followed by a picnic. Packing for three, into the boot went the esky, 3 picnic chairs and the scooter with no juggling or organising to be done and lots of room to spare. A few of our friends wanted a test drive so I drove around the car park with them as passengers. I wonder if I would get a commission for selling these cars 😉

The park assist system works great in the car park when there is a spot between two cars but doesn’t work so well with trees and bollards. Yes the alarm does go off when you get too close though, so no bumps or scraps. The visibility with the extra wide windscreen and side windows is fantastic and my son loves the sun roof but I think it would get very hot in our Australian summers with all this glass and I don’t think you could get a windscreen shade to fit the window. The rear passenger windows with the sunscreens attached is a great idea but not sure how easy they would be to fix if the children pulled too hard on them.

On the way home we did a detour and the satellite navigation didn’t like it when we didn’t follow instructions, which my son thought was very funny when it kept telling us to do a u turn when safe. It is able to be turned off and we couldn’t program our actual street which probably means it needs to be updated but I have no idea how that happens.

My husband worked out how to turn off the Eco function which meant each time I came to a stop the car didn’t turn itself off however the function automatically turns back on each time you restart the car. Still can’t get use to the feeling I have just stalled the car at each stop sign.

Tomorrow I will have 3 kids to try out the seating configurations on the way to school.

Yesterday We had the chance to have our 2 in the Citroën Grand C4 PICASSO. Both childs seats fit really well in the middle row, and there is plenty of room to be able to put 3 child seats or passenger. These seats also have the child restraint hooks on the back of them. The two rear seats don’t have the child restraint points so only good for your older passengers (you can’t put a baby seat in the very back row). Both children loving the panoramic sunroof and can also sit comfortably sit in the very back as we got to test it out with my parents as helpers. Only issue is how to enter with car. Seats! The car comes with a privacy shelf to cover the boot space which is easy to attach and remove which needs to be removed when using rear row of seats which is very easy too pull up and erect. Giving you very little space in the back boot only allowing a small stroller. The car is so easy to park with cameras both rear and in front plus a 360 degree view it’s easy to know where the edges of the car are and there is an alarm that warns you when you are getting too close to another object.
It does have park assist which will take over and park the car for you. Which it a bit overwhelming at first but i found once you get comfortable with it it a prices of artwork.. We also got to check out the full boot room for shopping, which was excellent allowing you also to be able to flip over the boot floor the cover the space between 2nd row and back which works great for escaping cans of shopping, we also find that ability to have the keys in your bag and just walk up to the boot and open it without having to dig around to find keys is very handy. A trip to the mountains is next on the list and a night drive to test out the views at night.
