MathsOnline makes learning maths easy and simple!

As Australia’s #1 online maths tutoring program for kids of all ages, MathsOnline makes learning maths easy and simple.

Each one of the video tutorials is taught by the internationally acclaimed teacher, Pat Murray, who is renowned for teaching math concepts in a simple, easy-to-understand way (and in only a few minutes at a time).

Even students who struggled with maths are getting fantastic results! And ones who were doing OK before are now doing brilliantly.

After twenty-four years of teaching, Pat Murray had seen too many students lose the battle against maths. So, he set out to help them. What he came up with was MathsOnline. Now, Pat’s programs are in the curriculums of more than 720 schools across Australia, and MathsOnline has helped countless students rise to the top of their class.

Students can practice what they learned as the adaptive program introduces progressively harder quizzes and worksheets.

Detailed solutions show step-by-step how to solve each problem; this way, students can see their mistakes and understand what needs to happen next time. Results and progress are saved and made available for parents, so they can check-in and see how their children are doing. They also receive weekly progress reports to monitor improvement over time.

  • My 6 yr old loves Maths Online. The website is easy to use and follow and she loves that it can read things out to her if she’s unsure. It takes her through the problem and solution and key points to look for which really helps her to understand and work through. She finds joy in doing maths now! I love it as I can leave her to do it on her own and get on with other things around the house! Win Win!

  • My twin daughters are really enjoying MathsOnline. The eldest of the twins has a hard time getting the right answers but she is determined and goes back to the video to watch so she can remember and does the questions again, the ones she got wrong and tries to get them right.
She went from a 72% Bronze Certificate to a 77% Silver Certificate in whole numbers for year 4. Very impressive I think.
It refreshes what you have learnt at school and teaches you new ways to understand maths.
For myself as a mother I think it’s a really neat way to engage children into fun and enjoyable learning.
I have already told my friends and family about MathsOnline and can’t wait for them to try it out with their kids too!

  • My twin daughters throughly enjoyed it. It took them a little while to start the program but when they did every afternoon after school they want to go back online to tutor again. They are in year 3 and one of them struggles with maths but she’s liking the fact that there is a video to teaches you and explains what to do. And you can always go back to the video if you have forgotten what to do too.
I definitely recommending MathsOnline tutoring because it helps my children understand Maths more than they did before.

  • We absolutely love maths online in our house. It’s so simple to navigate through and little Miss loves the sound button, so when she gets stuck reading a word, the button will read the question for her. It makes maths fun!!! So sorry for the late review. We had iPad trouble and had to wait for lockdown to finish so we could get it fixed and download Maths on Line. Super pleased we were able to try it. My kids are big fans.

  • My daughter was lucky enough to try the free 8 week subscription of MathsOnline. She has a good grasp of Maths but does get a little worked up with tricky maths problems. (She would get a little upset and not want to try and work it out, if it was a hard question).
With MathsOnline you watch a quick few minutes tutorial that takes you through what you need to know. First they show you an easy problem and the solution, then they will show you a slightly harder one (and tell you what to look out for) and then they will show you the trickiest one showing you what you need to do and what to watch out for when solving these type of tricky maths problems .
It makes it sound so easy and gives the child more confidence as they already know how to work out answers to the trickier questions. They watch the tutorial (learn how to solve the problems) then they answer the selection of questions to ensure they know how to apply what they have just learnt.
I think it’s great for all children (and maybe their parents, lol) as it helps them understand how to handle each type of Maths problem, especially tricky ones, for their year level. You select which year level (eg grade 1) and then you just watch the tutorial then answer the questions and then go on to the next tutorial. There is also a revision test they can do each week or so, to see if they remember what they have learnt. I would highly recommend MathsOnline for all students.

  • My kids are back at school now and it’s good to revise and remember how to complete their math’s work. My eldest daughter has been busy with her math’s online and she finds it fun and easy to do where as my twin daughter have more of a difficult time with their math’s so this will help them a lot this term.
I like it how they can work at their own pace and go back to the video tutorial if they get stuck with a question.
It has my tick of approval.

  • Sorry take two, something happened which made my review post before I was finished lol.

After one go with mathsonline we have a fan in the house. It’s quite simple to navigate and you can set the questions up so your child can have another try if they get it wrong the first time. You can choose which area of math you would like to start with eg, numeracy, decimals, addition etc.
The function I like the most though is, if they are having trouble reading the question, there is a little speaker button which will read the question to them.
It’s a great resource to have for just that little extra help when they need to, or to help them catch up if they start falling behind, without it feeling like homework or a chore. It’s fun for them. It also keeps track of their progress and shows you where they are having difficulties so you can focus more on that one area

  • I found Math Online to be a great program. It was very easy to set up for each of my 3 kids. Miss 8 found it easy to use and did mention it reminded her of IXL. Master 12 said he found it easy to use. Miss 17 was the real winner here. I was very impressed (as was she) that we could choose VCE Units 3 & 4 Further Maths. As she does extra study for Maths this will be a great tool for her to supplement her school work.

  • I love that this program follows the vic curriculum which means that my child is able to learn what the teacher at school is teaching. She can easily go back to the lessons she is struggling on without having to ask someone about it. The questions are very good too as this can confirm their understanding of each lesson and i have more confidence that my child is actually learning at her own pace.

  • Trialled by a seven and 10 year old.
Positives – the questions are pitched at the right level of difficulty, the lessons length can be modified to reflect the number of questions and attempts allowed, my seven year old could access the grade above to continue to be challenged, the videos were useful.
Negatives – my children prefer the school used app Mathletics. They prefer Mathletics because it is colourful and fun. Mathletics contains an avatar that can be altered when the child has spent a certain amount of time on the app.
My husband, who tutored maths in his youth, thinks that Maths Online is an excellent tool for home work and extra tutoring.

  • I love the way mathsonline add the video explaination , which gives boosts to kids to understand properly and then solve the questions . Also being a parent I sit on site and watching him from far to learning his lesson and doing it all by himself , only some time I will go and explain.
It’s an awesome maths site for Kids which is following Australian curriculum.????

  • My kids fell behind last year due to corona and as special needs kids we all got anxious about falling further behind so I’m over the moon with this maths online. First time ever that my kids actually want to do maths and I’m pretty sure I heard my 12 year old daughter say ” this is fun!” ???? I highly recommend all mums dad’s aunty’s uncles even I myself am learning new stuff thru this fantastic maths online tutoring. Will I continue to use……. Yes. I can already see their confidence raised realising they can do maths at a pace that won’t overwhelm them.

  • My son enjoys the questions in this program. He took a little while to get used to using a website as he was used to using apps, but once he got the hang of it he enjoyed it. The questions are appropriate for his age and abilities, they challenge him without being so hard that he loses confidence. He loves that he can have a certificate when he completes a section. It is a good program.

  • We had a pretty thorough click around Maths Online and, to be honest, it wasn’t particularly engaging. The content itself was very thorough and aligned with the Australian Curriculum… but it just lacked any element of ‘fun’, which is really important when trying to engage a VERY reluctant Maths learner! It was fine, but I wouldn’t rate it when compared with some of the wonderful stuff out there such as MangaHigh and Study Ladder.
Overall, it isn’t something we would pursue beyond the trial I’m afraid!

  • My 6 year old is very inquisitive, bright and loves numbers. I was interested in the maths online platform to help extend his understanding and to find new and enjoyable ways to be challenged and learn.
He enjoys the platform and is able to work independently through the program.

Now that school has returned, if we find that he becomes unchallenged, my husband and I will purchase a subscription for him to continue learning.

Thankyou for the opportunity to trial the maths online platform.

  • So far the kids have enjoyed what they have learnt/ revised on Maths on-line, Its great that they can do it in their own time and pace, they done a little bit of revision before school went back, so they wouldn’t fall behind, School has just gone back on so far the kids are up to where they are meant to be, lets just hope they stay there.

  • My six year old has been using Mathsonline for the past weeks and has enjoyed it very much. She finds that the math concept taught is similar to what she learn in school. The video is clear and simple which makes it very easy to understand and she can replay it as many times as she wants. Once she in confident about the lesson, she can try those questions easily. I like that they send a weekly report to the parents so we know how they did in those questions and what lessons they have done so far. I liked it very much and finds that it will be very useful for the kids in their learning of maths. And best of all it is all done online, the kids can do it anytime and anywhere they want. Highly recommended!

  • My son is currently studying extension maths in the HSC. This is excellent as a tool to review what he is doing in class by completing the worksheets and then having the videos as well as the answers to explain when he goes wrong. I am impressed that they cover his level as many programs opt to finish at the younger years and lower levels. So happy to find something that helps him revise that’s interactive. Thanks Maths Online!

They layout of the lessons are good, and easy to watch videos.

There were all different levels for different ages and abilities. The way to questions are structured make it any enjoyable way to learn and motivating.

  • We were given exactly a week before we had to post our review for a 8 week trial and felt abit rush to get it started. It was last week of school holidays, but luckily my son love maths so he’s keen to start. He was abit lost with what to do cause there was no clear instructions where and which ones to do in the site. He just picked random lessons for his coming year level.

But after doing a little everyday, we were not given any progress report until after 1 week (on the last day we were suppose to post a review about it). We realised there was diagnostic test and other stuff that he missed out and needed to be done.

At the moment, my son is just confused if there’s an order to how he can go about learning in some kind of order, or does he have to do some kind of test to determine what he’s weak at and proceed with lessons etc. There’s no guide nor someone he can ask. As a working parent, I don’t have time to guide him all the time and feels that there are better websites out there (and some of them free too) that he can still learn the same maths.

I have slight expectation that a paid website should have clearer instructions and guide on how a child can approach their weak points or learn something in a guided form, and not just churn a basic form on how many lessons he’s done with just a score and award that doesn’t really reflect how the child has perform.

  • I was so impressed with MathsOnline. The online videos were excellent, very clear and easy to follow and I liked that they encouraged children to take a guess and work through finding the answers rather than just expecting them to know what to do.

  • I have 3 kids ages 9,8 and 4 years old. They have all tried maths online and enjoyed it. The eldest would like more games but the other two are loving doing the lessons and the 4 year old feels grown up because he’s doing “hard lessons “.
I particularly love how the program is set out, the way the new concept is explained with a clear, simple video followed a variety of questions.
The parent setting are detailed allowing parents to set the pass rate for each activity and set special tasks.
Overall I think MathsOnline will be a great addition to our homeschool program.

  • I like how they covered quite a few areas in learning. Only have a few concerns and once these are fixed this will be a more pleasant resource for kids math learning.
    – it Doesn’t automatically go to next question after submitting answer.
    – there’s No option to read out for pre primary kids who can’t read hence making it mandatory for parents to sit in
    – some Questions are not clear with no instructions again parents involvement required and some guessing in order to answer the questions.

  • Maths online us a good program for motivated students. My son wasn’t as interested in it as he is in other maths programs but did say the videos gave good explanations. He also said there weren’t enough games and that the games were hidden. So for less engaged students the program might not work but other children would benefit greatly from the program.

  • Maths tutoring from the comfort of your own home. I love that I can keep tabs on my child’s tutoring. I especially like the Naplan practice tests and the opportunity to watch and rewatch any clips. This is an ideal solution for people like me who have lost money from having tutoring canceled because of Covid119 restrictions. This is also beneficial for any parent studying or working from home to help them with time and travel.

  • I wrote a review weeks ago when we received access to the Maths Platform. I was excited for my daughter who is only 7 years old. At first, and that’s why my first review isn’t so great, i found it confusing to use, too many different sections, overwhelming almost. After now 6 weeks, we totally love it. My daughter now can use this program on her own without me sitting next to her all the time. She works independently which is such a huge thing at this age. They like to be control and have a feeling of accomplishment. So, I have come to the conclusion that this program is suitable for learners that need a little help or even just to polish of their skills. It takes a while to get the hang of this program but after a while it becomes more user friendly. Thank you for the opportunity to try this program. My child is always happy to practice her Maths now, especially because its on the Laptop and not on paper.

It’s simple to follow, and you can listen to the audio for guidance, like a teacher! I love that it is so colour and has lovely images and pictures to keep my daughter interested.
