Review: Woolworths Thai Style Vegetable Bites

I made these for a platter to take around to a friends house but unfortunately they didn’t make it on the platter as my husband saw them when they were cooling down & ate 3/4’s of them. They are definetly a thumbs up in this house & will Buy again. They are not only tasty but present really well so would Look great on platters as appetisers. The photo I have included is the container I had them in cooling down in before my hubby almost finished them off

Some people will find these too spicy, particularly if, like me, they were expecting not much in the way of spice as is typical of supermarket branded 'appetizers'. I absolutely loved them but hubby complained of a sore mouth, as he is a bit more sedate with his tastes these days. Keep up the good work woolies, I love tasting my food!

Wow, I loved these. The pastry came out of the oven so crisp and flaky, the filling had just the right amount of bite for flavour, and I could actually see vegetables in the filling! My only issue was, there wasn't enough in the box after 2 teenage boys helped themselves.

We had the Thai Style Veg bites last night and absolutely loved it !! So so full of flavour and just yummy.. It actually taste Thai .. Best of all since it is vegetarian it is perfect for a party where you have vegetarian guest .. The only down side is the price as the tarts are tiny and paying $5 for 12 tiny tarts make it not really worth the money. Taste wise it’s pretty good but just a little too expensive.. Note the cheese croquettes are in the pic too

These are handy to have in the fridge or freezer for when unexpected guests drop in and you want to give them something to eat. Quick and easy and not messy - great life saver when you have nothing else to serve up.

WOW!!! What an absolute flavor explosion in your mouth!! So quick and easy to cook. So quick and easy to eat. I have a son who doesn't eat anything, yet I was told they look like little cupcakes... bugger me dead he ate 2!!!!! now that's a huge compliment for Woolworths, you got my child to eat veggies!! These are a definite staple food in my house now. Thank you Thank you!!!

These really surprised me! I don't go much on Indian food but they were delicious!! So easy to prepare and very quick to disappear. I would definitely purchase again and would recommend to anyone, even if they don't like spicy food. They had enough flavour but were not overpowering

These little nibbles look great on a platter and were a hit with our guests. I love tasty, bite sized treats for entertaining and these were perfect. They are bright and enticing and very full of flavour. It’s also great to have the option of two different flavours in the one box and both were quite tasty!

I like Thai food and this thai veg bites tastes good for me. healthy and yummy at the degree of spicy that I can handle, good.

Love these they have so much flavour. The red curry have a good luck of the curry taste. They are easy to hold and quick to make. The kids likes them more so the green curry as it's not as strong with the curry taste. These would be perfect as an appetizer or a started for a family/ friend get together. Wish there where more in the pack. Great for price and would deffinatly buy again.

I like this product because it is handy to have in the freezer for when unexpected guests arrive and you want to feed them a little something. No mess and no fuss to prepare. Good selection of flavors, something for everyone. Bite size pieces means no trying to cut them down to size just ready to heat and serve. Great product.

these were very nice. Just the right size for a snack. Really tasty and hard to stop at just one. Highly recommended.. I had friends over for a card night and the bites were very popular and just what everyone wanted for supper. Size was just right. . I will use them again when friends call around as I know they also loved them

These tiny bite sized pieces are simply delicious, it’s hard to stop at just one. I never eat anything that’s hot and spicy, but these got me hooked! The flavours these vegetable bites give is incredible! My other family member weren’t to keen on them, as don’t like anything spicy. So I would recommend these for people who don’t mind something a little bit spicy. The best part of these are how quick they are to make! Definitely a time saver for sure ????????

Great snack for appertizers when entertaining easy to quick heat up and serve. Adult snack great and tasty Love the packaging how it came in individual pod type tray. Not enough in packet for a few friends to serve need a larger quantity like a pack of 25 or 50.

I think these two products were absolutely great. one of the points I like about them are you simply heat and serve. The cheese and ham croquettes are "Moorish" and you cannot stop at one, whilst with regard to the Thai style vegetarian bites- generally I am not a vego and I love my meat, however these bites are packed with flavour and have a wonderful texture. They were quick and simple to prepare and I actually used them as a finger food for my birthday which happens to fall just after Christmas, leaving not much time and/or energy to prepare a large banquet however these woollies frozen products were great and everyone loved them. Would recommend them everyone.

I purchased these as appertisers for entertaining guests over Christmas and everyone commented how nice they were. I personally prefer the red style and hope that they become available as a separate product. The green style were also nice but overall people preferred the red. The pastry cups are great and add a nice texture to the product. The vegetable filling is very tasty and the absence of preservatives, flavoring and MSG makes them a healthy option. A few of our guests were vegetarian and they were very impressed and quick to ask if I had made them. I think they will all be heading to Woolworths to purchase. I will definitely be adding these as a regular item to my shopping.

We enjoyed these as we llike the spicy taste and they go great with a nice cool drink but for my father they are a bit too spicy .Would buy them again as they look just great on a plate and. also look like I have spend a while preparing the nibbles .

The family loved these Thai style vegetable bites I have bought them since trialling them for when we entertain and everybody loved them especially the vegetarians Great to have in the freezer just in case friends pop in.

These Woolworths Thai style bites are so quick & easy to prepare from oven to table in 20 mins. All went down a treat adults preferred them more than the kids & everyone liked red curry more than the green curry. Will buy again great to have on standby in the freezer for unexpected guests.

These were totally yummy with a definite hint of spice amongst the thai flavours. Unfortunately 2 or 3 of mine were squashed in the packet so not so good to serve to guests (more for me! Yay!) But the guests loved them.

These babies looked yummy from the outset and I love that this came with a couple of flavours inside. I popped in the oven and decided to get my garden guys review on these little delights! They thought these would go great with a few beers and would be buying them for themselves. One of them thought the red curry was a little spicy but really took to the lemongrass flavour of the other one and particularly loved the peas in it. I then tried these out on a little person, my toddler of 15 months. She totally went for the red curry spicy ones over the lemongrass flavour - even after a few initial coughs and wide eyes and a little panting. You had to be there for the hilariousness of it. She went in for seconds and thirds. Lucky, there was enough for me to try and I loved both. The shell gave it a little crispness without being chewy and the flavours really did burst in the mouth. This was around my dinner time so I teamed it up with some corn and blackbean quinoa salad with a coriander dressing which really turned it into somewhat of a meal (there just wasn't much left for mum!). Totally agree with the boys that these are a great appetiser to serve up to guests. I would even buy them to have as a quick dinner and make a salad with it and job's done mum! I would definitely buy these again.

Every busy parent needs some of these in their freezer! They look great, taste rather nice and what better way can you get vegetables into your kids?! Will be a regular in my weekly shop! Quite moreish and cooking time is so convenient!

Great for entertaining party guests as they are bite sized and full of flavour and at price I would definitely recommend for an easy appetizer or for parents at a children's party thank you for allowing me to review this product I will definitely be buying again to show my family and friends

These were very nice. We were was surprised at how tasty they were! We will be buying again. Our son who can be a tad fussy some days, tried them and loved them. We served with some homemade taziki dip and sweet chilli sauce in the middle and the plate was emptied.

These are delicious! A little bit fancier than your average frozen party food with a nice hint of spice. I love how you get both the red and green curry in one box. Great price too.

My husbands and two kids didnt like them but they are extremely fussy eaters. I did like them although one tasted a bit hot for me to handle. I do not like hot and spicy food so to someone else they may not have even been spicy. They were so quick and easy to cook. The house smelt so good while they were cooking.

The Thai style bites were so quick and easy to make. To take from the freezer and have them on the table in 15 minutes was a big win in my book. These will become a quick favourite when having people over for dinner as appetisers. Super delicious and so convenient.

I made these as part of our Christmas festivities and they were a hit! I like how there are two options - green curry which is a bit more mild and red curry, which is one for the spice lovers like myself! The whole plate of 12 was finished within 10 minutes and these were great to give to my guests who were vegetarian. The flavour and texture was definitely better than I expected. Would definitely purchase again.

I received m voucher to buy this product but by the time I had taken them out of the oven to get a camera they were gone! kids raved about the flavour of these and didn't blanch that they were vegetable bites! Told me they were a 4 out of 5 star rating but to get to a 5 they suggested I get another box. Anything that pleases my kids that easy is definitely worth a 4.5 out of 5. Will post video when i get another box tomorrow.

These are the perfect bites for entertaining a crowd. So easy to prepare, and very tasty. We enjoyed these over Christmas and will buy again to have some o hand for when unexpected guests drop over. Our fussy family enjoyed both, they have a nice spicy kick to them!

These are delicious bite sized cups that are easy to eat and packed full of authentic flavour. We were pleasantly surprised with how much real flavour were in these great little snack. Definitely one to impress guests with. Only difficulty was they have a small base so sometimes fall over, however this doesn't cause any issues because the content doesn't fall out.

We are always looking for simple and healthy and fast dinner options for our youngest boys, these were packed full of flavour, maybe a little too spicy for the boys, but for us as an appetiser before Christmas dinner they were amazing! I will definitely be buying these again, in fact I will be buying all of the range as we all love them!

I served these for my daughters birthday. They were a great hit, I served them with sweet chilli but they didn\'t need them as they were flavoursome enough by themselves. The only negative I got was they weren\'t big enough, but I suppose that\'s why they are called bites!

Wow, so much flavour in a little package! We are always looking for something for our smallest kids that is simple and healthy and fast to prepare and this is one that we tried and they loved! Served as an appetiser before Christmas lunch and they are awesome!

With two different flavours red curry and green curry mixed vegies. We'd have to say that the red curry teased the tastebuds. A winner in our family, its hard to get something all the kids like but these were a hit with all of us. Will purchase again very happy with the taste and the cooking time!

Cooked them for a quick and easy dinner. The kids loved them with rice and salad. The separate bags for each item is awesome. I can easily cook just one item and the rest will keep in the freezer for another time. The attached photo of my son's dinner, he absolutely loved it.

After a big day at the local water-park, it was an awesome feeling to come home to a quick and easy to prepare frozen meal. I prepared a lovely green salad, turned the oven on and transferred the bites into a tray in the oven. True to it's instructions the meal was ready in accordance to the time suggested on the packet. Although miss 9 and miss 3 weren't head over heels for Thai, mum and dad were. We have fresh basil in the garden, so serving up the Thai bites with basil and lemon (to substitute lime) gave them a real Asian feel. Quite pleased overall.

I had to visit 2 different Woolworths before I could find the Thai style vegetable bites...but the wait was worth it!! The bites had heaps of flavour and even impressed my husband who usually turns his nose up at anything vegetarian!! My only complaint was that there wasn't enough in the pack and they went far too quickly!!

I decided to use the Thai style bites as an easy quick meal. I served them with a side salad perfect for a lazy Friday night dinner. They were easy and quick to cook. We had varied responses around the table. My daughter and partner both liked the green curry ones whilst I preferred the red curry ones. The pastry case was crisp, crunchy and tasty. The Thai curry centres were tasty with a touch of heat but not too much making them pleasant not over powering. They would be great as a party favour, a quick snack or as a fast lazy dinner with a salad as I used them.

Great for entertaining or simply filling the lunchtime or mid afternoon hunger gap. Woolworths have a great range of frozen pre-prepared foods and these Thai bites do not dissapoint. The Flavours are full but not over powering and still child friendly, and quality is always great. Ideal for little cooks too, let the kids cater their own play dates! No mess, no fuss, handy to have on hand in the freezer!

We were really surprised at how good these were! Just served them at our boxing day lunch yesterday and they were a hit. Even my mum who is Thai said they were really good. Also loved how they had a bit of spice to them, that being said those who cannot stand any spice may do well to stay away. I personally liked the green curry more than the red, the green was lighter and more refreshing. I found the red was a little heavier/complex in flavours. The green just seemed more balanced and smoother in flavour. Loved they were vegetarian and the presentation was impressive. Easy to prepare with minimal fuss and minimal washing up - just what a busy mum needs! We will definitely buy again for entertaining.

Although this is the section for the Thai Style the review section states Woolworths frozen food range and indeed these Arancini bites are part of the range so here goes. Well these Woolies Arancini's were well received. I must admit that they did not quite match some fancy restaurant Arancini balls we have had but for a supermarket line they are wonderful. Very tasty and easy and quick to prepare /cook. Super wonderful for entertaining and quick snacks or as a side dish.

I love all things spicy. This was so perfect. It made a great party food especially this time of year. It was different and all my friends and family commented on how good they were. My family, friends and myself will defi nately be buying these again

I brought these as a quick snack for daughter who is a vegetarian. She loved them. They are not a heaps hot curry flavour which i liked. They are a good bite sized snack and make for a quick lunch. I served ours up with a flavoured rice and they went great together. Would definitely buy again.

These small pastry flavour pops were a hit at our Christmas breakup party. Perfect size for finger foods, didn’t feel of taste greasy or unhealthy. They had a nice strong but not overpowering flavour. The variety of red & green add more variety. The pastry isn’t too crumbly or tough and holds its shape once cooked

These were really nice. I could taste the lemongrass in the green curry version, and both had a nice amount of spice. The crispy she'll was delicious and accompanied the soft centres well. I'd buy these again!

I love these for a Saturday night snack or when unexpected guest come around. Any sauces can be added as a dipping sauce yet I tend to favour sweet and sour sauce or soya sauce. They also taste beautiful plain. Place them in the kids lunch boxes they love them. I place in the oven they don't need to be deep fried.

These were very popular in our family. Dad wasn't keen to try looking at the packet but once he tried them couldn't stop eating them. They have a delicious authentic flavour and if you don't mind a bit of spice they will keep you coming back for more.

The vegetable bites are rather tasty and best of all easy to prepare. If you are entertaining at whim and unsure if some guests are vegetarian, the vegetable bites are a good option. They not only look good on a plate but doesn’t disappoint on taste either. It is also easy to serve at a stand up party without a need for a plate for guests as they can be easily served and eaten.

My Thai style vegetable bites went down a treat with my kids. Light pastry with a Thai veggi filling was flavoursome with out being to filling. Must buy 2 packets next time though.

These yummy Thai style vegetable snacks would be a great crowd pleaser. They were so quick and easy to prepare. I would like to know a sauce or dip to put them with in the future though. The kids really enjoyed them and we would probably buy these again. Packaging was appealing and the product looked the same as advertised. Great price too

I really liked these ones. My kids not so much but they don’t eat any Thai tasting meals. My 65yr old dad made me go out and buy more as he was there when we tried them. I’ll buy these again for sure!

These bite size snacks are perfect for entres and cocktail parties. They provided an authentic Thai flavour which was a hit with the guests. It was a great change to the usual boring spring roll. They green & red gived a nice flavour of curry without being to spicy, so they are great to eat for all ages. My little ones thought they were super tasty. They are also great to eat cold the next day

Easy to prepares, great taste that tingles the taste buds, great idea red curry AND green curry. Took them to work for a morning tea and everyone remarked how nice they were. Would have liked the tray they are in the box to be heatproof do they kept their shape when heating . Overall 4/5 will have these again

We had some people over so it was a great time to pull out these for everyone to try. They were a hit with everyone, young and old. They were the perfect size and the flavours really stood out. They were quick and easy to prepare making them a good item to have in the freezer incase you have any visitors that pop around. I’ll be getting a few packs for the freezer.

We found the 2 products we trialled to be great. They were quick and easy, with them being ready in under 20 minutes. I found that they were a hit with both hubby and miss 2 (who can be quite picky with what she eats.)

We had these last night at a pre christmas dinner with family and friends the males seemed to like them but the females and kids didn't really enjoy them they are quick and easy to prepare but I didn't really like the taste of them so I wouldn't purchase them again

Delicious snack that is perfect for an entree or nibbly for family or when entertaining, even the kids enjoyed them. Cooked up well, so easy and convenient, tasted yummy not too spicy just right. We all enjoyed them and definitely will buy again. Nice to use when doing tapas and don\'t want to cook it all from scratch.

Each Woolworths Thai Style Vegetable Bites contains 12 bites in 2 flavours: red Thai curry and green Thai curry. There are 6 of them each. They can be cooked in the oven in about 10 mins which is very quick and easy. They are great tasting too. I find both the flavours with a little bit of kick although not too spicy at all. The vegetables tasted sweet and perfectly balance the heat of the curry. My 3 years old toddler also tried them and enjoyed them. We all liked the crispy pastry. Price is $5 per box for 12 bites and I personally think it is quite expensive.

It was nice to try something different as this is definitely not something I would immediately gravitate to. The Bites were very easy to prepare however my family felt they were a bit too sweet. The curry flavours were very mild which was good for children.

I was so looking forward to these and the flavour didn’t disappoint! What did disappoint was that the shells didn’t stand up and they broke as you picked them up to eat. I would try them again as I loved the taste and who knows, I may have just had a bad batch.

We decided to have these as an entree last night along with the Ham & Cheese croquettes when hosting a pre Christmas dinner with family and friends , the males seemed to like them but the females and kids were not to keen on them so I probably would not buy them again , everyone loved the Ham & Cheese Croquettes

As a family, we tucked into a tasting platter with cured meats, cheeses, crackers, dips and crudites and the little icing on the cake were a selection of Woolies frozen delicacies, including the Thai vegie bites. The 3 year old mini-me wasn't a fan (even though he is a lover of curries and foods from varying cultures), but the adults thought it was a delightful addition to an otherwise cold food platter. The green and red curry taste was evident and the small bite size portion meant that it married well with the rest of the tasting platter. At a discounted price of $5, these are something to consider for the shopping trolley if you are time poor and have a child with a more advance palate. However, at full price, it would be much more efficient to make these at home where you can use all the family favourite fillings! As a frozen food, they are definitely above average in terms of taste but at 12 pieces for $7.50, I think it a bit hefty on the price.

We got the Thai style vegie bites. We got that for entree for a dinner with friend. Taste ok for the adult so we finished the box. But it is really not our taste. the portion is not bad for a finger food/ entree. We found it is a bit bland as thai mean to be full of flavor. But it is bland in our opinion. Kids was not a fan of them even thou they are not spicy. For adult, we dip them into sweet chilli sauce to add some flavor to it. It is ok but not "wow! I want to buy it again!". I wont recommend them to my family but i might recommend them to our friends who can't eat spicy food. I am sure someone would enjoy them just this product is not our taste.

Once again the happy holidays were the perfect time to spread my sharing of new things but unlike the Garlic Chicken Bites and Cheese & Ham Croquettes these Thai Style Vegetable Bites did not receive the rave comments from the extended family. The children found them tooo hot/spicy tasting and to be honest a couple of adults were not real fans as well. But as this style is an acquired taste they still get good marks for easy of preparation/cooking. Thanks.

i love a bit of spice in my life so i was keen to try woolworths bites. the red curry was delicious good for people trying thai for the first time.but be wary the green carried a lot of bite excellent party food.

While I really like the green Thai style bite. I find the Red one too overpowering. It's quite hot and takes away from the taste. They are very easy and quick to prepare though. Perfect for entertaining unexpected quests quick. Pastry is light, crunchy and the filling is light and tasty. I would definitely buy them for my next party.

I had a lot of trouble finding them at my local Woolworths. I had to visit 3 different stores to find them. I really enjoyed the crunchy case but wasn't a huge fan of the filling. I found them a little too spicy and somehow seemed a little watery

I went to 3 different Woolworths stores looking for this product as I was chosen to review it. I searched the entire frozen section and there weren't stocking it. Sad I was excited to try it.

I found that there weren’t many pieces in the box, they took a long time to cook in the oven and they also were a bit too tough for my liking. Pretty expensive for how many were in the box. I found it hard to locate where it was in the freezer section.

I made Thai Style Vegetable Bites as a quick snack. My husband and I were ok with them, son gave them a try, but didn't like them and my daughter didn't even try, but she's the picky eater of the family. The bites are easy and quick solution for busy times, but I personally prefer Cheese & Ham Croquettes.

These would be fantastic for anyone who loves Thai food or hot food. I am not a fan of either so wasn’t won over with these however would be great to bring out when entertaining as they are quite fancy. Easy and quick to prepare!

Woolworths Thai Style Vegetable Bites are so easy and quick to prepare, and look pleasing on dish to serve. They are an ideal sized finger food, great for serving at a party or pre dinner or bbq. I did not enjoy the Red Curry Bites as I found them too spicy and too hot for my taste, the Green Curry Bites I found had a very strong flavour of lemongrass or kaffir lime, so other flavours did not come through.

I made these for my daughter and I the other night, not being a fan of thai food generally but having my friends and family constantly raving about thai food I had to try them. I really liked that you have both the red and green curry bites in the pack. They also cooked so fast and turned out looking like lovely and crunchy little cups! The lemongrass and coriander was too much for me. My 2 year old was surprisingly a big fan though!

Bit spicy for me though and cooking in the oven tends to leave them too crunchy with not much of a bite, same with the other flavour I tried :)

Unless you're a fan of hot, spicy food..you'll enjoy these if not, stay clear. My fiancé and I found these to be not nice at all. We didn't even finish eating all of them, we were picking up the ham & cheese croquettes more so because we reviewed them at the same time on a share platter. I can say I won't be buying those hot things again.

As a MoMs review panel for these products, I am expected to be honest and tell it truthfully, so as with the other items in this range that I tried I will be just that. I found that these Thai Style Vegetable Bites to taste spicy curry....green and red tasted the same. I didn't notice or taste any vegetables. I also found when I cooked them in the oven the pastry shell on half of them fell away and crumbled. I am sure (on a lighter note) that if your Adult guest are drinking and not driving they will find them ok, with a beer.

The Thai style Vegetable bites were quick and easy to prepare. Ready in just over 10 minutes. However they were not a hit with everyone. The green curry bites had an overbearing taste of coriander. The red curry bites were more balanced and therefore more popular. Not all the shells balanced on the tray and some cracked and broke when cooked. They were a good bite size snack but I would be concerned with consuming too many as the health star rating was only 3, no doubt due to the level of saturated fat in each serve. Good if you want a quick snack for party guests and to add some variety but not sure I would purchase otherwise.

Out of this lot 2 liked the onion ones and 1liked the samosas

My kids were so excited to try these and they were really easy and simple to prepare and cook. We put them out for the kids and they all went for them at the same time and well one bite and the kids were trying to get them out of there mouths. So I tried one and yes they were both very hot and spicy. I would serve them at a party to adults with a warning but not suitable for my household full of non spicy eaters

I tried the Thai Style Vegetable Bites which included 6 red curry bites and 6 green curry bites. They were quick and easy to prepare, ready in 12 minutes. The green curry bites were not too popular due to the overbearing taste of coriander. The red curry bites were more balanced and therefore more popular. The shells were not crisp and crunchy but rather soft making the bites break, however this could have easily have been rectified with more time in the oven. There was the odd bite that did not stand on the tray properly either. Overall, great if you want variety for party snacks and something to prepare quickly. However with a 3 star rating and a relatively high level of saturated fat per serve this is not a snack you could indulge in too often.

The bites are a good sized finger food, that do not drip. They are easy to prepare and serve. I personally would not purchase these again, as I did not enjoy them. I found the red curry bites extremely hot and could not eat an entire bite. The green curry bites I found had an over-powering taste of either lemon grass or kaffir lime, not allowing other flavours to come through.

I wasn’t able to review them as none of my Woolworths stock them or the ham and cheese balls. I bought some other items which they did stock (chicken Kiev’s and nuggets). They were really good and my whole family liked them

Really was looking forward to trying these but unfortunately unavailable everywhere I tried.

I wish I could post a glowing review, but after going to multiple stores in my area and speaking to the managers, it seems that only the large Woolworths stores stock this line, which is a shame. I thought being their own brand would mean all products would be available in all stores. Excited to try it and other enticing flavours once I can find them

Woolies didn't have these so I got Chicken n Garlic balls and they were scrumptious!!! Will defo buy again! So tasty I didn't even use the BBQ sauce!
