Review: Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Last week when visiting my Aunt I decided to take the Philips PerfectCare Elite to show her and help out with her ironing pile, well wasn't my Aunt impressed! We cleared a space and setup the iron in her spare room and set to work, 3 baskets of ironing trying to loom with intimidation. They had nothing on this iron, we took turns and did half each as my Aunty was keen to have a go n try out the Philips PerfectCare after seeing my post on Facebook. Despite having used the Philips PerfectCare at home myself already I was still surprised how quickly we go through all the ironing to have empty baskets and wrinkle free clothes hung up and put away. I think the Iron and I are sure to get a few more invites for morning tea at my Aunt's house now!

When the Philips perfectcare elite arrived despite being excited I was a little taken aback by the size as it's quite big and it did take me a little while to find a good spot for it to sit as its far too big to sit on my ironing board like my normal iron. However once I did get it set up it was so easy to use! no changing setting for different fabric types no waiting for it to warm up more for my husbands uniforms of cool down for more delicate fabrics. The steam is great makes the ironing so quick and easy and there is no need to use any pressure to iron out stubborn creases as I normally would with my previous iron. I would definitely recommend the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron to anyone but specifically to those who have a lot of ironing or require professional uniforms ironed, its an absolute breeze for my Husbands Air Force uniforms.

The philips perfectcare elite steam generator iron is amazing!! I can't get over how much I'm enjoying ironing since trialing this iron. I've rewashed and ironed all my bed linen with absolute ease. It seems more compact now and stacks in the linen cupboard taking up less space. I've trialled it on sewing patterns - because I use it so frequently, the automatic safety cutoff has only turned the iron off once but I don't have to wait for it to heat back up like I did with my old iron. My arthritic mother has tried my iron and also loves it. She's now asked to bring her ironing over to do it herself with my iron rather than me do it. Being a stay at home mum and considering ways I could still earn a small income from home, I've decided to try out ironing by the basket load - something I am now going to enjoy and won't have to worry about burning or scorching anyones clothes!! If you use an iron frequently, I'd 100% recommend the philips perfectcare elite steam generator iron!!

The philips perfectcare elite steam generator iron is hands down the best iron I have ever used!! It is so light and easy on my wrists, and gentle on my clothes and various fabrics. I've shown several friends and have them extremely envious of my iron. One is purchasing one with her tax return as an early birthday present. I have tested out the iron on several different fabric types that I would normally have to adjust heat settings - It has worked perfectly on all of them!! I also left the iron face down whilst still on for 15 minutes and the ironing board didn't have so much as a mark on it. This iron is fantastic!!

I caught up with another group of friends again over the weekend and suggested they bring over whatever they need to Iron, so they can try out the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron... they came with their ironing bundles and we hit the threads!!! It was again a great result with every single item we ironed. We tried it out with different materials and it exceeded our expectations. The main thing which impressed them was the amount of iron it produces- and having the two steam settings, the short burst or the constant stream really was an advantage as the constant burst really removed the difficult creases. That's my favourite setting and I noticed I used the constant steam more often. I absolutely still love the fact I can leave the iron face down on the ironing board and my friends didn't believe me when I told them we could do it safely. Its nice to know that it wont burn a hole in my garment either! I think the blue light on the handle is great too and it takes only 2 minutes to heat up and be ready for ironing. Even when the motor kicks in every now and then isn't loud.. you can hear it but its not the loud noise I expected. This iron not only performs outstandingly, but it looks really nice. I like the colour and the huge water tank... it really makes such a difference when you are not getting a sore wrist from a heavy iron. It glides so effortlessly across all material! I do suggest though that you have a BIG ironing board for this iron, My current board is the standard smallish size and this is really too big for it.. so invest in a larger board for more ironing room! Loving loveing this appliance- Philips, you have really impressed me and everyone who I have shown this to!

The first time I tried the philips perfectcare elite steam generator iron I was sceptical about being able to use it on all fabrics or even leave it face down on the ironing board without it burning. However, since using it more I have put it to the test. It really is a brilliant invention and the best iron you will ever use!! It is so lightweight and glides effortless across all sorts of fabrics. I've been ironing tops with different fabric types which with my old iron I would have to change settings between each panel (silk and cotton poly blend) the philips perfectcare elite steam generator iron can iron straight over both. My linen pile has gone from a mountain of unmanageable creased horror story to neatly ironed, folded and put away. I'm actually really enjoying ironing now. The water compartment lasts a long time and with a solid hour use it still had over half a tank left!!

I dedicated a few hours on Saturday to getting through my weekly ironing and it again performed amazingly! I am confident that I can iron every kind of material without worrying about changing the heat settings. Ive ironed from silk, to cotton, to jeans, to work shirts, sheets, blouses, dresses, skirts and delicates- not once has this iron let me down! I am loving the steam functions- having the choice to use it as I need it, or have it on a constant steam by double pressing the trigger- I absolutely love this.... everyone who has tested my Iron has been super impressed with the amount of steam it generates.. its incredible! Comparing it to my iron I used before I received this, I can certainly notice the weight of the Philips PerfectCare Iron.. it is so light and glides across everything I have ironed.. that's the benefit of having a water tank NOT attached to the Iron. It may be big in size, but the lightweight feel really makes it worth the big size of the iron. Not having to refill the water tank- awesome!!! One of my favorite features though is having the ability to leave the iron face down on the ironing board without worrying it will burn the board.. this is sooo useful and something it took a bit for me to get use to.. but once I was confident it was safe to do so, this is what I do. I don't put the Iron on the actual Ironing base as I find that the steam condenses on the iron and Iron base and leaves some water marks on my ironing. Everyone who has tried this has said the same thing.. about how they are use to standing the iron on the base upwards.. so this is a pleasant bonus and is really a clever idea! Someone again mentioned the color of the inside of the water tank and asked if the water was clean..I explained it was the gold colour of the casing inside the water tank... maybe a white colour or a different color would be a good idea? This Iron has exceeded everyones expectations in performance.. I am incredibly surprised as I have never used a steam generator iron before although I have researched them prior to this review. Now I know why so many people are opting towards using these instead of standard irons.. This is my Ironing savior.. I absolutely LOVE the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron!!

Each time I use this Iron, i fall more in love with it! I tried this iron out on my more delicate fabrics, although I was a little hesitant because I didn't need to change the temperature settings... something I'm really not use to! I first tried one of my delicate aqua scarves (in the attached photo) which I love, and I was so impressed, It ironed it perfectly and it really is so much faster than my standard iron.. the soleplate of the iron really does make it glide over the material effortlessly, and the lightness and easy glide is certainly one of the highlights for me!! Ironing in between buttons is easy too with the shape of the top of the iron.. makes it a breeze! Im confident when ironing the more delicate silk garments - I'm so impressed with no temperature settings which really can become annoying in my other iron when I have so much to do! Its so convenient! Even ironing bed sheets is faster... a lot faster.. and the steam options are really beneficial for the very creased bedding. Bed sheets use to really frustrate me.. but with this iron, they are no hassle! I also tried the eco mode which was great- it doesn't produce as much steam as the standard steaming setting, but it still produces enough to get rid of the creases. It only takes 2 minutes from the first time of turning it on to when I can start ironing, and that's really quick.. I love the blue lit iron handle too... it looks really pretty! Everything I have used it for has been perfectly ironed.. I love love love the steam function though!!! This iron looks pretty, has a huge water tank, easy glide sole plate, fabulous steam functions. no temperature settings, a great blue lit handle. and is incredibly lightweight. Anyone looking at purchasing one of these, I can assure you you wont be disappointed.. you will really enjoy ironing with the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron! Im thrilled to be able to review this product!!!

So part of the review was to invite your friends to try out the new Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron, and to be honest, I couldn't wait! We had a Ironing party, with pizza and cupcakes and movies... it was a lot of fun!! We decided to hold this ironing party on the Saturday, the day after I received the iron (I was so excited to try it out)- .. so there were 8 of us trialing this great iron.. people of all ages and we LOVED it! This was the first time I even opened up the box, so we all leant how to use it together! Firstly, we hit the business shirts for the guys, of different materials and the iron EXCEEDED our expectations!!! We got through so many business shirts, pants and jackets that I lost count.. the guys were involved, the teens even gave it a go- all round impressed by all! We were amazed of the steam output ( the two steam options were great- we hit the quick steam for small creases and tried out the steam burst by double clicking the steam iron... we had to remember to turn it off with the constant steam though!). The shirts were ironed so much faster than the standard iron (friends again compared their iron to this one and complemented it on its lightweight!). We steamed the shirts hanging up with great results, but I prefer doing the ironing on the board.. although a bigger ironing board would certainly be an advantage with my ironing!! It was so simply to use.. even the teenagers got into the ironing and they thought it was AWESOME... it must be great if the teens want to use it to iron!!! It was particularly useful not needing to change temperature settings on the different materials.. and having the ability to sit the iron on the board and knowing it was safe to do so is one of my favourite functions of this great product- I'm so use to placing my iron up ways on the base that it took a bit of getting use to!! This was a hit with my big group of friends and they loved bringing their ironing over to the party I held to trial it out on their clothes... It was soooo FAST and sooo light that we got through ALL the piles of ironing so much faster than we thought. I'm really impressed with how fast you really do get through it all.. we all loved that! It glides with so much ease! I use to despise ironing, but I have changed not only my thoughts on ironing, but the thoughts of my friends too- we LOVE IRONING!!! I wish I could upload more that one photo to this review as we took over 150 photos for this ironing party... I'll upload them on Instagram! Fulfilling this part of the review was so much fun.. who would have thought we would ENJOY holding an ironing get together party!!! I had two days of ironing over the weekend because I loved this iron so much! I compared it with the irons my friends used over the weekend in two different households, and both groups of people commented on how much lighter this fabulous Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron is. Its ideal for people who suffer from sore wrists, arthritis or pain from wrist injuries- extremely beneficial when you have A LOT of ironing to do and you need a lightweight iron. One if the reasons why this one is so light, is because the water is stores in a separate water compartment, and not in the actual iron... not only making the iron lighter, but also providing so much more ironing time than a standard iron. I asked one of my testers over the weekend who tried my iron out, and she was amazed with the lightness of it- and I compared both and I could really notice it. The iron she owns is sooo heavy compared to this, and she fills the water tank up every 20 minutes! frustrating hey! I have suffered wrist pain from a fracture a few years ago and using a heavy iron for a few hours really does give me pain, but I ironed for hours over the weekend with no problems!! If you are looking for a lightweight iron which not only glides superbly, but is also light to hold, I can confidently recommend this steam iron. To me, one of the important factors in buying an iron is weight, and this one certainly ticks the boxes. I will never go back to a heavy standard iron.. this is the first time I have ever seen or used a steam generator and II am impressed... The iron may be bulky, but the amount of water it holds is the reason for this, and it provides HOURS of uninterrupted ironing! My following reviews will be on materials I have ironed and the results we gained! :-)

This iron is so easy to use! It doesn't burn, so you can leave it face down on the ironing board. The weight of the water stays in the base unit so the iron itself is nice and lightweight. This iron has so many amazing features - like being able to pick the temperature for what you’re ironing so no need to worry about fiddling with a temperature dial - I really like that. You can also do a vertical steam (like dress shops do) which is super handy. This is a worthwhile investment and so enjoyable to use. I think I enjoy ironing nowadays - really hated ironing before. Great product.

So after ironing for about 2 hours tonight I'm very happy to say this iron has completely changed my way of thinking when it comes to ironing. I've ironed ever type of fabric I can think of and every result has been outstanding. This iron is incredible. . The steam function is something I honestly cannot live without and I have two people who have now put it on their Christmas wish list! I will never go back to using a standard iron because this one is just so much lighter and functional and for once in my life I'm absolutely excited to do ironing. . Even offering to do the ironing for my friends!

Ive been trialing this great iron for a few weeks now and I have zero complaints on its performance! I have covered in my previous reviews the internal water compartment colour and an improvement could be a different color (only because a few people have asked me if the water was clean.. that was only because the inside casing of the compartment was a gold colour giving the impression the water was dirty). This is not a fault, just a colour choice! I also think that if you are using this iron, to have a large ironing board or a lot of bench space. It seems a little heavy for my small board and I was first worried it may tip my ironing board over.. I certainly require a larger ironing board with more room!! The water compartment is HUGE, providing hours of uninterrupted ironing and no need to refill the water tank- this is such a pleasure and so much better than my smaller iron I had prior to this. The steam function is FABULOUS! Having the choice of steam bursts or constant steam is a fabulous advantage- the constant steam really helps with the tough creases and does speed up the ironing time. The steam is awesome!!! The iron itself is so very light... which is great for those with weak wrists. I compared this iron with my other iron and the weight difference was substantial.. I will never use an iron which holds the water in the actual iron again, because that really makes the iron heavy. I never realised the huge difference until I could do the comparison with this great steam iron. It doesn't take long at all to heat up either, and the handle stops flashing once its ready. Its super fast and the blue light really looks pretty! All up, this iron is the best iron I have EVER used and if anyone is looking for a steam generator iron, I can confidently recommend this one as I know that everyone I have demonstrated this to have been incredibly happy- to the stage that they are holding onto their ironing just so I can bring mine over! Husbands are wanting to iron! THATS A WIN!!!

So I caught up with some friends again over the weekend... and my Iron was invited!!! I wonder if they really wanted to see me, or just use my iron to iron their weeks worth of business shirts!! My friends are obsessed with this iron, and I know why- because it outperforms any other iron I have used and everyone who tries it also agrees! This is the revolution of Ironing.. everything looks so great afterwards and I use to buy clothes which didn't require ironing as I HATED my previous iron and I hated ironing! Now, I'm purchasing tops with pleats and tops which do require ironing as they crease.. and I'm excited to be able to do that!! Ïroning is so fast and the iron is so light- not having to refill the water tank is a certain advantage, and I love the way I can hold my hand on the trigger and steam away for as long as I need to.. this really works on the badly creased clothes! This iron is amazing.. and I absolutely love ironing!

I've never liked ironing but this iron makes it less of a chore. It's so light and easy to use! The steam is really strong and makes ironing much easier. This is by far the best iron I've ever used and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to trial this product.

I wanted to show how amazing the steam function is on this iron, so I got two of testers to try the function out on some ironing, and it was verrrry impressive! For the ironing which is slightly creased, I like the fact that I can hit the steam button for a burst of steam for as long as I like, which I have to admit, I loved! This is soooo functional! Then by double tapping the steam button, the steam really did boost and it was constant until you tapped it again to turn it off.. and it was great for those hard to fix creases.. I also loved the steam function for ironing collars too- it worked a treat! My two testers (one of many over the weekend!) absolutely loved the iron, not only the weight of it and how light and how easily it glided over the fabrics, but the amount it steamed really did surprise us all... this is why its a steam generator.. coz it really does generate the steam!! The water tank capacity is great, and I was never concerned about it tipping over on my ironing board- its really stable and holds A LOT of water! Even using the steam functions does not seem to use up much of the water. I love ironing.. who would have thought I would actually say that! ...but I absolutely LOVE this iron, and as you can see from the photo, it really does exceed in the steaming abilities!! Regardless of how thick the material is that you are ironing, or the stubborn creases you are trying to iron out, the steam settings available in this great iron will remove those frustrating creases... I guarantee you! Philips... I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS IRON!!!!

Wow.. what a machine!!! My first impression was “Wow- its big!!”.. comparing it to my current iron.. but then once I picked up the actual iron, I realised exactly how light it was without the need to hold the water in the iron! Having the water in a separate compartment makes such a huge weight difference!! (My friend took the cord out when we were unpacking it.. I should have paid attention to that part because when I was packing it up, I had no idea how the cord went back in! lol- read the manual, to no avail.. then my friend told me that he had pulled the cord out of the compartment and we just push it back through!)- pay attention to that!  We had the iron on the floor when we first put the filled up water compartment in.. then realised we had to move it to the ironing board.. weren’t too sure if we were meant to pick it up by the handle once locked in place.. but didn’t feel confident in doing it that way with a full water compartment, so picked it up from underneath to make sure it didn’t break on us… A suggestion is to put in a very strong handle so you can lift the iron with a full water compartment from the floor to the board… I wasn’t sure if the handle would hold the weight of that.. but that’s one suggestion. When we had the water compartment full, I did notice the inside of the water compartment (because it is a gold colour), it makes the water in the compartment look as if it’s a little dirty… I had two people comment on that part over the weekend hence mentioning it here. Our thoughts are it may be better if the colour of the inside of the compartment is white , so it doesn’t give the impression of containing dirty water. Maybe a different colour inside that compartment would be a better choice? I loved the fact that this iron was soooo LIGHT! That was another which was mentioned many times, the lightness and easy glide of the iron.. it’s amazing compared to the irons which hold the water in the actual iron.. This is as light as a feather which is great for those with sore wrists. Because of the lightness, the smooth glide and the two steam functions, (the steam burst or the constant steam)- I found ironing was so much faster and the steam really rid the clothes of creases! The size of the water tank allows you to iron uninterrupted for so much longer than a standard iron! It may be a BIG iron, but using it provides outstanding results.. explaining the size is due to the large water compartment allowing longer uninterrupted ironing and steam function, those who saw my iron then understood why it’s so big. It was a little bulky for my own ironing board, so I think would be best for people like me to put the iron base on the floor and put the actual iron on the ironing board. Having the safety to put the iron on the board without worrying about it burning was one function I love.. I found that worked better than putting it on the ironing holder of the actual base- placing it on the base, I found put water marks on the clothes from the steam residue. I will go into the results of ironing in my next reviews- although there were absolutely NO complaints by the 11 people I showed this iron to over the weekend!! I love so many things about the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Iron - and I've written about most of them - but today I tested out the steam generator function on my brand new silk beaded dress (gulp). I hung it up (see picture) and easily steamed out the wrinkles and creases. Not only is the dress delicate silk, it has gorgeous crystals around the neckline so I had to be careful. I certainly couldn't have used my old iron on this dress, I would have to have gone to the dry cleaner. Because the Philips PerfectCare elite is so light and easy to use, my dress was perfectly crease free in no time and with beautiful results!! I'm thrilled.

Philips PerfectCare Elite is wonderful! It makes short work of that dreaded ironing pile. I used to cringe just thinking about ironing, but now it's actually a pleasure!!

So, yesterday I posted a review about how easy the Philips PerfectCare Elite was to set up and use and how it made my ironing pile disappear in half the time of my old iron - with fantastic results! Today, I decided to test the claim that you can iron all sorts of different fabrics WITHOUT altering the settings. I was a bit nervous, as I decided to test it out on one of my favourite tops which is a combination of silk, jersey and chiffon - but so far the PerfectCare Elite has lived up to all expectations, so why not this one? WOW. I ironed the silk panel on the front first, then moved the iron up to the chiffon top and shoulders - it glided over both, giving a lovely result. I then turned the top over and ironed the jersey - and yes, you guessed, it handled that beautifully too. I'm really impressed!!! Cannot recommend this iron highly enough!

I must start by saying that I HATE ironing. It's one of those things that seems endless in my house (work shirts, school shirts, uniforms, t-shirts etc etc) and I tend to save it up into a massive pile because I dread it. It takes so long and feels like VERY hard work, the only compensation being an episode of Offspring. BUT I am amazed to tell you that the Phillips PerfectCare Elite has seriously changed that for me!! I was lucky enough to be selected to test it out and received it a few days ago. I used it for the first time today. It looks so high tech, I felt sure it would take ages to set up / learn how to use. Nope. It was a dream. Removing and filling up the water tank was so easy. It holds 1.8L of water (so you definitely don't have to keep refilling even with a massive ironing pile). You plug it in, switch it on and GO! Today I ironed 5 of my husband's work shirts in record time - in fact in half the time it used to take with my old iron. I used the steam consistently (especially with the heavy cotton shirts) and it barely made a dent in the water tank. More impressive, it felt like the iron was literally gliding over the various cotton fabrics so that I barely had to apply any pressure or re-iron over the most creased areas to get a beautiful smooth shirt. The pointy end of the iron is longer so you can get between the buttons much easier and quicker. I am seriously impressed and VERY happy cos it meant I was finished really quickly. I am looking forward to trying it on my clothes next - some of my tops are a real mix of fabrics so it will be interesting to see how the Phillips PerfectCare Elite handles that. After using the PerfectCare Elite iron I am totally impressed not only with the quality but also how easy and efficient it makes ironing. - The large water tank means you can do a full basket of ironing and never need to refill. This has helped speed up my ironing time - The fact I don't have to change the temperature setting, I can use it on all 'ironable' fabrics and know that I am not going to ruin that silk top (like used to happen in the past). - The iron itself is really light and just glides over your clothing - The powerful steam gets rid of all the creases so quickly and easily - My hubby has even started ironing his clothes, he thinks it is quite fun (just need to convince him he could have even more fun if he ironed all the family's clothes :)) - And as a bonus the iron is a gorgeous gold colour, it looks nice sitting on the bench I never thought I would actually rave about an iron but this iron is fabulous and I would highly recommend it.

one of my old clients that I look after has this iron, I iron their bedsheets in triple folded and it goes through saving me more time. works on any materials but I have not done silk yet. I wish I could afford this iron as I do ironing as my home business but just lucky clients have been happy with my ironing so haven't been able to buy one. This is recommended.

This is a fantastic iron with the most amazing features! It won't burn your clothes. You don't have to choose a temperature setting. It can turn off by itself. You can leave the iron face down on the board. It's just the best iron there is! Glides easily over any fabric, this iron makes ironing easy for the moat reluctant ironed. The Phillips Perfect Care Elite is an iron I would definitely recommend!

The iron came in a huge box! Lots of cushioning, but the base unit is quite large. A good bench area while ironing is perfect to ensure that the base is nice and level. I love how simple it is to use the iron. No guessing what temperature to set it at, the iron is smart enough to adjust to the fabric being ironed. Because it won't burn fabric, you can leave it face down on the ironing board. It's either this or return to the base station. The iron won't stand up by itself, which took a little bit of adjustment as I'm so used to standing my old iron up after each pass. The iron is nice and light as the water for the steam is stored in the base unit. It glides nice and smoothly across all types of fabric. A wonderful iron and worth investing in for those that have piles of ironing to do!

Due to not needing to adjust any temperature settings, even husbands can use this iron with ease, and you don't need to worry about clothes getting burnt My husband gave it a try and was really impressed by the steam power that is produced

This iron is just so easy to use! The base may be big but the iron itself is thin and lightweight! It glides across all different kinds of materials so easily. I'm amazed at how you don't have to choose a temperature setting - it's all automatic. The steam function is also great. Press the trigger when you need it, or do a double press for continuous steam for large/stubborn areas. This was perfect for one of my husband's work shirts. There were creases that just wouldn't come out with my old iron. The Phillips PerfectCare Elite takes care of it easily. The iron can be left face down on the board - this took a bit of getting used to - I kept trying to stand it back up. Highly recommend. Wish I'd invested in a high quality iron earlier!

I have only ever used a basic iron so seeing this machine was really impressive! Because the water is in the base unit the iron itself is so light. I did find that the whole unit together does take up some space, so it's useful if you can iron near a bench so that the unit has somewhere to sit. The iron beeps once it is warmed up so you know when to start ironing. Even hubby was impressed by the looks of the iron.

I was actually excited to begin using this iron. I iron a lot of business shirts, and delicate shirts for clients. I cannot believe how much time this has saved me. No more constantly filling up the water, and No water drips like you get from a regular iron. And you can fill it up using tap water.

Never before have I been able to iron denim jeans as fast I can with the Philips Perfectcare Elite Steam Generator Iron. The steam comes out at 490g so it's like it's already ironing the other side of the jeans as I iron one side. There's no going over the creases over and over again. If you have ever considered a steam generator iron, then look no further than this one. Make the change, you will not regret it

I love how easy this iron is to use. I ironed denim jeans then a silk top without needing to change any temperature settings. I also love love love the colour. What makes this great too is that it has the safety feature of turning off automatically if you forget (which I have done before). I am highly recommending this to my friends and family.

The Philips Perfect care was a huge help on Friday mornings. We always do that last work outfit and school uniform as we can't get through a week. It heats up so quickly and then beeps to let you know when it is ready, This meant I could continue the crazy morning routine and hear when the iron was ready, even when I was downstairs. Each time I use it, the iron is better as I get a feel for using the steam. My mum loves it and got through a whole pile of ironing this morning before doing the school drop off for me. She loves how light it is and how you can leave the iron flat on the iron board. The water tank lasts for over a week in our house. I am inefficient, using it in short bursts for a few things at a time, and it really works for me.

So, this third review of the Philips PerfectCare Elite was not one I planned to write today! But as it turns out, I'm about to tell you about a feature I didn't expect to use!!! I was ironing some work shirts (yes, watching a missed episode of Offspring), when the dog ran into the house with what I thought was some kind of large brown rat in her mouth. I freaked out, threw the iron down and ran straight to the dog (to get her and the "thing" out of the house). Anyway, it turns out that the large brown rat was a cuddly toy that she must have buried months ago! I was so relieved BUT then remembered my ironing. The iron had been sitting on my husband's white shirt for several minutes ... BUT there was NO burn, NO mark. It was like it never happened. FANTASTIC - what a feature, I'm really impressed! It is much quieter than I was expecting. And I love how the water tank holds almost 2 litres so I don't need to refill for a long time.

I am so impressed with the vertical steaming function. I tried it on a silk like jacket, I hung it on the hanger and steamed away the creases with ease. Note; watch your fingers as it's super hot

The more I use the Philips Perfect Care Elite the more I enjoy it and the better it gets! The turbo function really helps speed things up and I find the water tank outlasts my ironing pile. Children from the age of eight can use this iron, so I taught my daughter! The same ease of use functions make it so safe for children. No worries when she placed it down on the ironing board, no need to change temperature settings and it is light enough or her to manage. If only her six year old sister was more keen to be doing the folding.

I put off using the PerfectCare Elite until I had time to read the instructions and set it up properly. What a laugh, there are about three steps in total and it is so easy to use. The only set up is filling the tank with water and plugging it in! It is very very light. Great if you get wrist pain like me. I found it fast and easy for the vast majority of fabrics. Thick cotton and heavy linen require the boosted steam, but even then it isn't as good as my heavy Laurastar station. The cord length is adequate so I don't feel restricted when moving the clothes around. My husband and I share the ironing, but he leaves my work clothes for me as he doesn't want to "wreck" anything. How thrilled he is to hear the Philips PerfectCare is safe for all fabrics without the need to change settings. No need to worry about damaging anything!

I don't mind ironing yet since purchasing the Phillips Perfect Care Elite Steam Generator Iron my time for ironing is quicker and perfect. Cloths stay pressed for longer

I was so excited to be selected for this review!! Ironing has been such an awful chore with my iron sticky taped together with packing tape due to being dropped too many times trying to stand it on it's end so as not to burn the ironing board. At first I was a little daunted at the size of the box when it arrived and still a little once I opened it and saw the size of the actual iron. But being in two pieces, it's actually pretty good. No longer do I have to worry about balancing the iron on it's end, or burning the ironing board. The iron sits in it's base or can be left down on the ironing board without burning (I'm not sure how long I'd trust leaving it but the safety time out switch will turn it off anyway). I tested this baby out on my mountain of linen that I saved up. So far, so good!! It is quite light and easy to use. Glides over the linen effortlessly and easily removed all creases. I will be testing out on various fabrics next time. I'm so pleased we can now say goodbye to my old taped up iron

Purchased this iron and it is the best quick way to complete my ironing.

OMG visited a girl friend at the weekend and while we were talking and catching up I noticed this Philips Perfectcare Elite Steam Generator Iron perched up top of her ironing board in the family room. I commented that I could have applied to try and review this iron on the mouthsofmums site but I had only just purchased a new iron 11/2 month prior to the invitation and thought I would leave the invitations open to mums who needed the product more. I did have to explain this site to her ...so mom may get another new recruit. Any how I asked her if indeed I could give the iron a try. WOW it put my new iron to shame. The steam, the amount of it and the actual length the steam lasted was nothing short of amazing. The iron was light weight and glided over the cloths and I can actually say I enjoyed the ironing experience ...my girlfriend also enjoyed the look on my face not to mention the fact I was ironing her basket of cloths. The only downfall I could see with this iron was the size (the huge size) of the actual unit (iron and base) the unit did take up quite a considerable amount of the ironing board space and if indeed you owned a small ironing board I dare say you may be in a bit of a pinch. GREAT iron though I was impressed.

I am not the biggest fan of gadgets mostly becUse i could not be bothered trying to figure out new things or new ways. I tried my sisters who swears by it and she said how easy it was. being the older sister i was sceptical but i gave it a go. I was surprised how easy it was to use and how simple to follow. It did a nice job and i was quite impressed. Not impressed enough to buy it because of the price though.
