Finger Food Friday
by littlejojoCombined rating
In my house we have Finger Food Friday. My kids are fussy eaters and some food they just would not eat if I cooked them in the oven so I resorted to using the deep fryer. I no longer do, as since I have had the Philips Airfryer, I cook everything for Finger Food Friday in the AirFryer and the kids devour it, there are no left overs! We now get to mix it up each week as there are so many things that can be cooked in the Airfryer. I have cooked meatballs, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, springrolls, samosas, money bags, wedges, chips and even sweet potato chips. I can now make a quick, convenient, no fuss Friday night dinner that the whole family enjoys.
Best thing since sliced bread
by littlejojoCombined rating
I have cooked quite a few family meals in the Philips AirFryer since I got it. The latest being chicken kievs. I usually cook them in the frypan. In the AirFryer there was less mess and pain as the frypan usually splashes hot oil at me. The kievs were still golden brown and had that crunch that my family all loves. The best part was that they cooked quicker in the AirFryer and they tasted oh so yum. Loving my Philips Airfryer!
I wish everyone could taste it (picture)

Sorry for some reason again my picture did not display. Here it is.
I Wish Everyone Could Taste It.
by tillyCombined rating
Got up this morning and again, I have the cooking bug. I even invited friends over yesterday for tastings because my families stomachs are too full ha ha ha. Anyway the recipe cooked today was one that was from a recipe book from around 1894 and I am obsessed with cooking old recipe's, they always turn out amazing. I set the Airfryer to 175deg and time set was 22 minutes as I used the 2 minutes for the pre-heat After 20 minutes I pulled the drawer out to skewer test and it was still not done, so I put it back in for 10 min and reduced the heat to 165deg. The cake ending up having a tiny tiny bit of crust on the outside but it turned out perfect. The cake is so moist and I just wish everyone could taste the result. 2 days ago I went to Harvey Norman as I want to buy all the cooking pans that are made for the Airfryer, but unfortunately you either have to get them to order them in, or go online with Phillips to buy them. While I was at the store I found a cake tin that fitted perfect, very handy to be able to check the size with the Airfryer on display. So you can see in my reviews now that my cakes are getting bigger so it has been trial and error once again. Another success in the Airfryer.
Egg Turned out soft and fluffy
by tillyCombined rating
Forgot to add photo in this review so I thought I would do it again, as you can't have a review without a photo. This was one of my recipe’s from last week that I tried. I had not done egg before and thought I would try it out in the Airfryer as you can see turned out very yummy. The eggs had been whisked prior to cooking as I was not sure how they would go as I know what a microwave does ( they explode) so maybe I will try a non whisked egg next time. No mess at all another perfect dish in the fryer. The egg was soft and fluffy texture as well not over dry at all. Perfect
Loving the variety which can be cooked.
by tillyCombined rating
I thought I would try just the average toasty which included Cheese and tomato. Wow I have never done a toasty in a normal oven before but wanted to see what the Airfryer could do. Cooked to perfection. It does not look as good as a normal toasty but looks can be deceiving. Cooked for 4-5 minutes due to me opening the drawer just to add some extra last minute margarine on the outside and I may have used up time doing this. Just so easy.
Garlic Sauce Stuffed Chicken Breast - Quick & Easy in the AirFryer!
by ange101Combined rating
This is my fourth review for the AirFryer XL. I am really enjoying using this new kitchen appliance and cooking new meals in it each week. I like how it allows me to cook healthier meals, and how quick and easy it is to use. Last night I cooked Garlic Sauce Stuffed Chicken Breast in the AirFryer. It was so quick and easy to get them cooked and I didn't need to use any oil at all. They came out perfectly cooked, crisp and super tasty!
I'm still in love
by shaggydogCombined rating
I decided to make my Banana Cake, (recipe has been posted in the recipe section) the AirFryer cooked the cake extremely well, I just didn't have a pan small enough to fit in the basket, therefore burnt the top of the cake, I took the basket out of the AirFryer and continued to cook it, turned out great, if anyone knows where I can buy a cake tin that fits in the basket please let me know.
Super Tasty Homemade Burgers and Chips
by ange101Combined rating
This is my third review so far for the AirFryer and I must say that I am really impressed with it. Over the past few weeks I have used it to cook both savoury meals and desserts with fantastic results. I have found it to be a quick, easy and much healthier cooking method. This week I made homemade burgers and chips in the AirFryer. I love how healthy it is, I cooked the burger patties without using any oil at all and for the chips I only used 1 tbsp of oil. It was a really quick, tasty and healthy dinner which was a big hit with the family!
Delicious Apple Crumble Thanks to the AirFryer!
by ange101Combined rating
Tonight I cooked Apple Crumble in the AirFryer. I used the Apricot Blackberry Crumble recipe from the recipe book and used apple instead of the apricot and blackberry. Once the preparation is done, simply put the oven dish with the apple crumble into the basket inside the AirFryer for 20 minutes on 200 degrees celcius. It came out a beautiful golden brown, perfectly cooked through and tasted absolutely delicious!
Stir fry Time
by megsy99Combined rating
So last night i thought i would try something different and tried a stir fry in the airfryer. I added the sauce and chicken strips to a dish and it cooked in under 10 minutes with the chicken cooked through and juicy. I added veggies and cooked for a further 5 minutes so the veges would still have a bit of crsipness. It was delicious and everyone loved it. I assumed the chicken may come out dry and that the veges would dry out and be more roasted but they weren't. Veges were great with just a bit of crispness and chicken was succulent. I stirred the dish through halfway when cooking the chicken and then again once i added the veges in. Cooked the rice in the microwave for 10 minutes while the dish was cooking. Beautifully cooked dinner in 15 minutes and little effort. LOVE it :)
Super fast and convenient

Last night was one of those nights where you are running so late that you need to click your fingers and have something ready to go! I pulled out some frozen gems and chicken from the freezer and within 15 minutes I had some crispy delicious goodies ready for the kids! My favourite part of this appliance is the tiny bit of time it takes to heat up. I could oven bake these items, but then I would have to wait a while for the oven to heat up before cooking. I am seriously in love with this item.... I look forward to attempting to bake some apples with sultanas and apricots this afternoon!
So terrific that I am sharing with friends
by tillyCombined rating
My next review I thought I would make an old recipe. The recipe is from the 1920's and is a pound cake. A touch of old with a new modern appliance. The cake was cooked exactly the same as my previous frangipani cake. The cake came out perfect. This cake is not one that you would ice it is actually served with butter.I really like how the Airfryer is so easy to clean and the smell of the cooking still radiates through the entire house. The Airfryer is not that noisy either.
Another tasty success!
by heidles82Combined rating
Tonight I cooked a simple dinner of Moroccan grilled fish with herbed couscous and salad. the Airfryer cooked 2 pieces of ling to perfection in around 6 minutes! I simply dusted the fish fillets in a Moroccan spice mix (lemon zest, paprika, turmeric and ground coriander), sprayed with a little oil then placed in the basket. Quick, simple, tasty and healthy!
Great for re-heating too
by megsy99Combined rating
Not just for cooking, saves time re-heating. Ordered Pizza for dinner last night and have leftovers here for 3yr old's lunch. Tried re-heating it in the airfryer, 3 minutes and it was done, nice and hot and base is crispy. This saves having to wait 10 odd minutes to pre-heat the oven then cook it in there for 5 minutes. When you have a hungry toddler saving 12 minutes to prepare food is a godsend. Awesome :)
Quickly and Easily Makes Healthy Fried Meals
by ange101Combined rating
Thank you very much for the opportunity to trial and review the new Philips AirFryer XL. This product is so easy to use, simply control the time and temperature of your cooking with the digital touch screen. It comes with a good sized and very handy recipe book full of recipes to provide inspiration. The first meal I cooked in the AirFryer was Portuguese Chicken and Homemade Chips. The chips took 20 minutes and the chicken pieces took 25 minutes to cook. I only used 1 tablespoon of oil to cook this entire meal which makes it a much healthier option compared to using a deep fryer. This AirFryer delivers great tasting fried food without all the fat. I am looking forward to cooking more meals in my favourite new kitchen appliance.
Absolutely awesome!

I was so excited to receive this item in the post, and it hasn't disappointed yet! It's quite large, but that was promising because I would be able to make large meals for my family with ease! The ease of use was a bonus... Very simple touch screen operation. Once I took the couple of minutes to work it out I was ready to get cooking! We started with a simple cinnamon scroll recipe which turned out just divine! I am so excited to try so many more recipes!
New recipe trial today, delicious spicy fried drumsticks
by megsy99Combined rating
I tried the Spicy Fried Drumsticks from the recipe booklet today. OMG they were delicious, so moist and juicy. Not too spicy, just enough for a little bit of a hit. My husband and 16yr old son loved them too. A winner in our house and we'll definitely be cooking them again. So easy and simple and delicious juicy chicken drumsticks in 20 minutes.
Getting excited

Great to see some reviews already. Was hoping the Airfryer would arrive today. Fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow. Would love to spend the weekend experimenting. The hubby eager to try out pork belly as I don't eat pork or cook pork very often. He also has a list of things to try. We could be fighting over it.
So easy and straight forward to use.

Well I received my Airfryer today and was so excited! I have only tried it out on some chips so far but I am already convinced that I will use this machine more than anything else in my kitchen! The machine even managed to drain fat from frozen fries! It is so much faster and produces better results than an oven as far as I have seen so far. My only down point was that the section that the tray sits on seems a little flimsy but we will see as we go along. Ill be back with more once I have cooked something else, so excited to try calamari in there!
It's very quick, easy and I can cook healthy
by MarilynCombined rating
I just received this machine today and have already put it to good use I made home made chips and they were quick, easy and so tasty. Even my fussy kids loved them. I also used it to reheat store bought chicken that was still hot from the local chicken shop but I wanted it to be extra hot. The chicken skin was crispy and the chicken didn't dry out. I can't wait to try it out again tomorrow and every other day. Will post another review again :):) with more pictures to come.. So excited :):)
Golden airfried vegetables
by rpollyCombined rating
When I entered to win the Philips Airfryer, I had wanted to try one for ages, because I knew it would be healthier than frying with oil, but was still skeptical about it. I didn't think it would really be able to produce crispy, browned chips... or anything else, the same as oil frying would. My first attempt was some roast vegetables, and.... wow! I was very pleasantly surprised! I peeled and cut the vegetables, sprinkled them with herbs and a tiny bit of garlic infused olive oil, purely for taste. I preheated the airfryer to 200C, which only took 3 minutes... popped the vegetables in the basket, and set the timer for 20 minutes. By the time we set the table and carved the meat that my husband had cooked on the barbecue, the vegetables were golden, and cooked to perfection!
Philips Airfryer awesome essential appliance
by mom109463Combined rating
I am a self confessed kitchen gadget junkie, after watching the video, reading the recipes, reading the reviews I had convinced myself that this was obviously an appliance I needed to have to ensure my family had healthy food in a timely fashion, well a trip to the shops, I looked at a number of brands and brought home the Phillips, assured hubby that we have had it for ages and he must just not noticed, I outdid myself with chips and nuggets the first time I used it, they were awesome, easy, kids loved them, no smells in the house, since then I have cooked meat, cakes, roasts, sausages, it is awesome, fat drains away and I have used it far more than I really thought I would, I cannot recommend it highly enough, I wish they were cheaper then I could justify another one, so I could use 2 at once but I will struggle along, they may bring out a larger one, this is big but for large families something bigger would be good, especially to cook meat in one and the veg in another. great product

by megsy99Combined rating
This is the most awesome machine i have ever used. We have used it daily since i received it. I have thrown out my deep fryer, never to be used again. I am so in love with my airfryer and am so grateful i was chosen to review it. It has seriously changed our family's way of eating and cooking for good :) Thanks Phillips and thanks Mouths of Mums :)
Chicken Bocconcini Had that Perfect Crunch
by tillyCombined rating
This was the first thing that I have cooked with a crumb without sauce. I cooked chicken brocconcini. I actually placed a couple in the oven and a couple in the Airfryer and they turned out exactly the same except in oil in the oven. The Airfryer delivered on this one. I didn't know how they would go in the Airfryer because I added no oil but they were delicious and had the crunch that you want. Perfect, no oil you cannot get better than that. The Airfryer is a new way of cooking and I recommend one for everyone.
The only thing I may not cook again unless it is on the stove top.
by tillyCombined rating
The Airfryer is fantastic and I highly recommend it to be on every ones Santa list. I have tried many different ingredients but the only thing I would probably not recommend would be meat that has been marinated. It does cook to perfection but you have a lot of smoke. I ended up putting the Airfryer on top of the stove so that the exhaust would suck out the smoke from the kitchen and it did work but as I did this in the middle of cooking the kitchen was already smoked out. It has not changed my mind at all I still love cooking in the Airfryer and use it daily.
Make Sure The Airfryer Is On Your Santa List.
by tillyCombined rating
I cannot say enough how much I am enjoying the Phillips Airfryer. So much variety to cook and I recommend that you all put it on your Santa list. Today I cooked Ham steak and pineapple and it was cooked perfect and was nice and juicy to eat. Cooked in 9 minutes and not much mess at all left in the Airfryer. I love the ease of cleaning the Airfryer and once you learn cooking times for every dish you make then you cannot go wrong. All you do is set the time and temp and off you go.
I would love to get my mum one.

My next review I thought I would try something I cook all the time and that is my scallop potato which is loved my all. I did find a problem with cooking this as I always cook this with a cover of foil on top when I do it in the oven, I cooked it for roughly 15 minutes and found the cream sauce started to dry up a little which it would do exactly the same if it was in the oven without the foil. So today I am going shopping to find out what you can actually buy pan wise and also the larger one that sits inside with the handle, it is a must as I think I will get more out of the Airfryer. Scallop did turn out lovely and I added a little more cream mix at the end. I am totally addicted to the Airfryer and I could not imagine going without it again. I love how you can just add a quick last minute side dish and know it will be ready as well as Some well cooked meals and fluffy moist cakes. I would love to get my mother one as I keep her updated daily on how fantastic this product is.
Cooking again
by tillyCombined rating
I cooked up a Quick Apple pie and I must say that only the recipe is quick and easy but I was shocked on how quick it was to cook. I was even a bit hesitant when I pulled it out of the cooking dish and cut into it, I thought for sure the pastry would be uncooked at the bottom but it was PERFECT. It it so good to be cooking again with the Airfryer.
Another light and tasty meal made in the Airfryer
by Sonya LCombined rating
Tonight I wanted to make an easy meal so I decided on some Potato croquettes. They were simple to make - a quick potato mash, egg yolk, flour and some bread crumbs, They only took approximately 9 minutes to cook and the result was absolutely delicious. No complaints whatsoever from my fussy 2 year old who gobbled them up smartly! The Airfryer is an fantastic appliance to have if you are watching the calories but want that lovely 'fried' and crispy texture.
Loving this airfryer!
by AmandaCombined rating
So i decided to cook steak. I got some porterhouse that were on sale. Usually, I just like my steak on the BBQ - pan frying is always disappointing for me. I also decided on a Fattoush salad to go with it. So while I set the air fryer to preheat, I ripped a piece of Lebanese bread in half to make it fit. During the preheating, one of the pieces did rise up to touch the element and burnt just a little. No drama though - today I picked up a stainless steel rack accessory which I will just pop on the top next time. So crisped up the bread in the airfry as it heated up (plus another couple of minutes), sprayed the steaks with just a little oil and seasoned generously with salt and black pepper. 10 minutes at 180C and we had really nice steak - maybe a touch on the well done side, so I will try 8 minutes next time. But much better than pan fried! While that cooked, chopped up Lebanese cucumber, tomato, coriander, mint and parsley and made a bit of a dressing with pomergranete molasses, salt and pepper. Super quick dinner and very tasty!
WOW! The Airfryer is such a time saver!

I was so excited to be selected as a reviewer of the Philips Airfryer! As a busy mum, there are certain days of the week, when we walk in the door at 6pm, and the kids need dinner straightaway! I was always planning ahead to make sure I had leftovers of some kind in the fridge so I could get dinner on the table quick! With the airfryer, there is just so much more I can cook on those nights! Even chicken nuggets and chips! In the oven it would take 15-20 minutes to heat up the oven, and then 20 minutes to cook. This makes it difficult on those nights. On the first day we received the airfryer, I had not really prepared for what I was going to cook first (plenty of ideas....just not much left in the fridge and freezer!). So I did some frozen potato gems for the kids (with leftover sausages). The machine heated up in 2-3 minutes. The package for the gems recommends 15-20 minutes in a fan forced oven. I wasn't sure how long to cook them for so put them in for 5 minutes. They were almost cooked! 2 more minutes and they were beautifully golden, and crisp, without the oiliness that they get from oven cooking. The kids verdict was "Awesome! Better than usually and nice and crunchy". Sure, they did stick to the basket just a little, but as I have cooked a few more things since then I think that it was just the first cook. And I have since cooked some gems again and they didn't stick. There are so many possibilities with this machine! TVSN sometimes have a demo on and is worth watching for the inspiration. i can also recommend a Facebook group called Air Fryers Unite. Posting more reviews of other things I have cooked this week.
spring rolls
by megsy99Combined rating
Home made spring rolls on the menu tonight. 6 minutes in the airfryer and nice and golden and crispy. Surprised how many fit in there as i make them quite big as you can see in the picture. I fit 10 in there nicely with room to spare.
Quick Mothers Day lunch
by megsy99Combined rating
Since i didn't want to do anything fancy for Mother's Day lunch i did some salt and pepper squid in the Airfryer. We normally cook these in the frying pan with quite a bit of oil so was very interested to see how they would turn out in the Airfryer. They were amazing. Coating was crispier than done in the oil and the calamari was so tender. We also found that they were spicier so i think we were losing a bit of the spiciness cooking them in the oil. Another winner :) We are using the airfryer every day since i got it in the post. I am in love with it :)
Airfried meatballs
by rpollyCombined rating
Another review of the Philips Airfryer XL... Still loving it! Not only can I do easy roast vegetables in it, but it is also so quick and easy for my teenagers to get frozen snacks out of the freezer, such as chicken fingers, hashbrowns, etc, and throw them in the airfryer... 7 minutes later, they're eating, and it's easy clean up. One of my favourite meals that I've cooked in it so far was chicken cordon bleu. I cut open some chicken breasts and stuffed them with ham and cheese, then rolled them up in baking paper, and put them in the airfryer. I cooked them at 180 for 20 minutes, then served them with a side salad. The chicken was tender, and all the juices were kept within the paper, so when I unrolled it I could just drizzle it over the chicken.

Hi! everyone I needed something to make life easier as I have Arthritis and standing is a problem. I have been cooking with my Philips XL Airfryer for a few months now. Cant live without it. Its taken the hard part of cooking (standing) out for me. I have always loved cooking, but with old age coming on it was getting very hard to stand long enough to cook a meal. I love it and cant imagine not having it in my kitchen. The food is cooked to perfection. I baked scones in it for morning tea with friends. They were impressed as I did it in front of them. Served them hot from the Airfryer. I will post a photo next time. regards Fruitcake Mother

Yes I know my third review is late, so sorry but life has been non stop for the past few weeks and I finally now have the chance to sit down and once again tell you about my usage and how much I am loving my new Airfyer. Let me just say roast vegetables in 25 minutes cooked to perfection. What more could I ask for. I always struggle with when i should put in my vege's when doing a roast dinner but now I don't have to. The airfryer is so quick and easy to use. Quick to heat up. Quick to cook and great on power usage as well. I love the fact that if I don't want to heat up my whole oven for something small I can now use my airfryer. The biggest smile factor for me is I can actually see how much oil and fat is not going into my body or my children's bodies as all the excess fat drips into the bottom tray. I am a Chef, Cooking demonstrator and food blogger and work with a lot of high end products ovens, mixers, processors etc, and have been telling everyone the past few weeks how in love I am with my new Airfryer. This is my new favourite accessory in my kitchen. 10 out of 10 for me.

I have thrown out my deep fryer!
by littlejojoCombined rating
Working full time with 3 kids, we would have 1 easy meal a week. I tried lots of frozen bake in the oven food, and the kids just wouldn't eat them, so for my sanity I would cave and use the deep fryer for the nuggets, Chinese parcels & springrolls or fish and chips. Since I have had the chance to review the Airfryer, I can now proudly say that I will no longer use a deep fryer so have thrown it out! My kids have loved everything I have cooked in the Airfryer, we have had some fantastic hassle free family dinners. The Airfryer is so easy to use and clean. I also can't believe what you can cook in it, I can't wait to try all the recipes that there are in the cookbook you get with the Airfryer. Thanks Philips and Mouth of Mums, you have made this mums life much easier.
Trial and error with sponge cake
by tillyCombined rating
As you all know, sponge cake you just have to get right. Perfect temp, perfect time as you don't want to open your cooking appliance only to have it flop and sink. Well this is only my first attempt so practice makes perfect. With the Airfryer you also have to be careful with how much it rises. The sponge cake was set at 175 deg and I baked it for 20 minutes opened the drawer it looked perfect as you can see in the photo. I then skewed tested it and it sunk. This can happen to even an oven cooked sponge so i will keep trying and I will get the perfect cooking time and temp to create the perfect sponge. This is nothing at all against the Airfryer as as you all know practice makes perfect with any appliance.
Quick replacement.

My Airfryer actually stopped working, I am not sure why but when packing it back up I did notice a slight bulge on the outside of the airfryer. I understand that sometimes faults do happen and all of my reviews have been A1 for this product and this has not altered my opinion of the Airfryer at all. I actually had withdrawals without it and had to go back to oven cooked food and you really notice the extra time needed. I wanted to say a huge thank you to mouth of mums for contacting Phillips on my behalf and to Phillips for such quick delivery on replacing me with a new one. I am very happy to be cooking with the Airfryer again.

Yet another week has gone by and I am still in love with this fabulous appliance. Every time I cook something I attempt to make it work to cook in the airfryer. Over the weekend we had a cooked brekkie.... Quickest and easiest ever!!! Throw some bacon, hashbrowns and toast in all together and voila! All done! Last night we had some chocolate lava cakes.... Cooked them in ramekins and they were stunning! And took no time at all!!!!! I will absolutely be recommending this to my friends and family. So easy!!!!

by 25slkCombined rating
So my first try I made Cajun spiced sweet potato chips and they were wonderful. My husband who doesn't like sweet potato chips at all polished off most of them and asked if I was going to make any more. Chips were easy. I wanted to do something a little more though and as a big lover of my home made spring rolls, I must admit I was quite skeptical about the result that the Philips airfryer would give me. But as a reviewer I felt I owed it to my fellow mum's out there to give it a go. Imagine my suprise when not only did my spring rolls come out perfectly cooked with that golden crispy outside that you would expect when deep frying. They also tasted delicious and were so quick. With each thing I cook in my Airfryer I am becoming more and more impressed with how simple and easy it is to use and clean. I'm also very excited over the fact that some of my favourite deep fried foods are now available for me to feed to my family without me worrying about them being unhealthy as they are now Air fried not deep fried.
Just great.

Had my son's 11th birthday yesterday, kids get to choose what they want for dinner on their B'day, he choose Saveloy's, Spring Rolls and Dim Sims, I decided I was using the AirFryer to cook the spring rolls and dim sims, so got some hash browns to go with it, Spring Rolls came out fantastic, so crispy, no oil added as did the Hash Browns, but would not recommend doing frozen Dim Sims in there, the kids preferred those steamed, the frozen Spring Rolls took 7 mins at 200 degrees (preheated) and the Hash Browns took 9 mins (unfrozen) they tasted amazing, a lot better than a deep fryer or even the oven. Would definitely recommend this machine. Looking forward to doing my Banana Cake in there, and also chips.

No image tonight as my phone was dead but i did crumbed chicken in the airfryer tonight. Was a bit skeptical as i really like it done in oil. Once it was cooked i was even more skeptical as it wasn't that golden colour it goes in the oil but it was just as crispy, if not even more so. As i always cook it in batches anyway, i keep it warm in the oven until it's all cooked. When cooking it in the oil i find it does go a little bit soggy in the oven keeping warm. As there was no oil at all using the airfryer it stayed crisp keeping warm this time. It was a little dryer than usual doing it this way but i'll take that for the crispiness an healthiness doing it in the airfryer :)
Frittata
by heidles82Combined rating
I decided to try cooking a frittata in the Airfyer the other night - it took a little linger than usual because it was in a deep cake pan instead of the frypan, but it still cooked well with a crunchy top and tasted good too! Very happy with my Airfryer :)
Lazy (and a little bit healthier) dinner tonight
by heidles82Combined rating
After a big day, I really didn't feel like cooking dinner for the kids. Rather than go for the expensive take-away option, I raided the freezer and came up with a healthier option - organic lamb sausages and potato pommes - not the healthiest of dinners, but healthier than take-away and made healthier with the Airfryer! I just served it with a side of steam fresh vegetables (cooked in the microwave). All was cooked and served in under 15 minutes.

Roast chicken dinner. Fine tuning underway. Was super shocked at the time taken. You hear about it but until you witness it yourself you can't believe it. So crispy was the chicken and I love wings and wow the crunch was amazing. Had the temp at 180 for 35 and chicken still a little underdone. 10 more minutes at 200 and presto all cooked. As I said it is a matter of trial and error. So so happy with this product. Not really a fan of cleaning up dishes after a meal but my air fryer is looking really really clean. (Hopefully this trend stays this way) See you soon

I dont own one but used one at a friends place to help make party goods for a baby shower. We used the air fryer to make many things like chips and wedges and chicken lollipops and small fish fingers. At first I was skeptic on how this machine would work and how successful our food would turn out. But boy. The food turned amazing and crunchy and it tasted fresh and yunmy. We all got praises for it. Would buy this truly

I have cooked quite a few family meals in the Philips AirFryer since I got it from my husband as a gift and everything cooks so quickly and it moist and tasty without those extra fats. A very healthy way to cook your meals and fries and a simple process. Such an easy product to clean as well and I am looking forward to cooking more food using it more often now.

I made these easy peasy lemonade scones in the Airfryer for afternoon tea - made in minutes...gone in seconds. This Airfryer has been invaluable. I have used it to cook, bake, reheat and experiment. I found I have to adjust temperature and time according to what I use it for. It has been fantastic for making quick snacks for my kids and especially for items for morning & afternoon tea were the quantity does not warrant using the main oven. I also think it is ideal for students living away from home as it is easy to use and clean as well as safe. My teenagers have used it many times and like it's simplicity. I have yet to try recipes from the book but find I am more of a liberated cook and just add whatever is available at the time. It is a shame to use it just for cooking store bought items as it really can do a lot more. True to say that some things will never be like deep fried...prefect for me as I don't like greasy food but do like crunchy. Ideal for a gift for that special someone.
Great for grilling too
by heidles82Combined rating
I made cottage pie for dinner tonight, and usually grill the cheesy top in the oven, but decided to use the Airfryer instead. The results were brilliant - I did have to put the cottage pies in individual dishes to fit in the basket, but the cheese melted nicely and quickly. The Airfryer gets to temperature so quickly, and doesn't heat up the whole kitchen like the oven does.

Garlic bread tips.
by AmandaCombined rating
My kids love garlic bread! Each week I make a large batch of pasta sauce, and it will cover us for those busy nights, when you get home from work or some activity and you need a fast dinner. But doesn't garlic bread really lift a pasta meal!? But I don't generally do it as it just takes too long to heat the oven. Well, I had some garlic bread in the fridge, not sure of the brand, but it was a no foil variety. It said on the packet to cook at 160C fan forced for 15 minutes. I wasn't sure how long to do it in the air fryer, so I preheated to 160 and cooked for 5 minutes. I was so suprised to find in brown - past the nice golden brown phase, but not burnt, but nice a crispy. But the butter wasn't fully melted. I just stuck it back together in the warm airfryer will I plated up the rest, and the butter melted fine. Anyway i think if the garlic bread had been wrapped in foil, I could have got away with 5 minutes cooked in foil and then 2 minutes maybe unwrapped. Will definately try those options, as the airfryer is so much quicker than heating the oven and cooking it. I wont even give it to my husband to cook if he is cooking on the BBQ, because he always burns it! Sorry no photo - but I;m sure we are all familiar with garlic bread!
Quick cooking time, easy to use.

This was the first dish that I cooked in the Phillips AirFryer and as you can see a lot simpler than my previous 2 dishes posted. I first looked up the recipe book supplied just to give me more insight to cook in regards to cooking time. I decided to cook the baked potatoes but added all my favourites into the filling instead and the result was perfect. Set the airfryer at 200 deg and preheated prior to putting them in. Cooked for 25 minutes and just like my other recipe's cooked to perfection. I did these yesterday and actually made them again at tea with a roast lamb so hubby didn't miss out.. Perfect.
No more boring dinners :):)

Love this product!! I have a few recipes I want to try but need to purchase the extra accessories for it. Which is a total shame, for the price of this product it would've been expected that the extras would come with the airfryer, rather than them being optional. That's the only thing I have negative to say in regards to this product. Today I wanted something really quick to make since I am babysitting my nieces and nephew. So I had 5 children to look after including my two. The kids wanted pies and chips as a mid afternoon tea.. Usually mini meat pies and hot chips take forever to cook and they're never crispy since the kids can't wait for the chips to cook thoroughly. It takes so long for a normal oven to preheat. I even tested it by putting some pies in a normal oven and in the philips airfryer. The P.Airfryer took next to nothing to preheat and cooked the pies and chips in less than half hour and I cooked them in separate batches. The chips usually take half hour in a normal oven. Cooked crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside in less than 20mins and that was a full bag (From Aldi). The pies less than 10mins and I was sooo happy as the kids were really hungry and restless. There was silence around the table as they all ate :):) I was cheering. I would definitely recommend this airfryer and my sister is already wanting one. She can't wait to come over and test out her recipes as well :):) I loved that no extra oil was added to the chips and they tasted amazing.. My sister thought they were fried chips but said there wasn't much oil In them..
Awesome product I love it already

Just got my Air Fryer today and have already cooked some hot chips, chicken chippees and chicken wings in it just to test it out. Chips were perfectly done, nice and crunchy in 9 minutes. Chicken chippees for my 2yr old's dinner perfectly cooked in 5 minutes and chicken wings keep their juiciness but didn't have that horrible oily taste of doing them in the deep fryer. Teenage boys were actually excited to open the box and test it out and loved their chips. I think i might actually start getting some help in the kitchen since they love this machine so much already and haven't even tried any of the recipes yet. I was surprised to see the variety of things you can cook in the air fryer. I always thought it was just for deep fried foods like chips, crumbed foods etc. Can't wait to try the different recipes :)

Who would have thought crunchy chips and dimsums could be yummy and healthy. Why healthy? Well because of the air fryer of course. It only uses minimal oil so if youre tired of the chips and fish that are soggy because it bathed itself with oil. Its great to try this air fryer. Its convenient and easy ti use and great for the family. Great for a little footy snack to share made fresh at home. Without the oil guilt

Wow! I was really surprised at how quickly the Airfryer cooks. Not only that, it cooks evenly so you don't need to check/move the food around. Just set the temperature/timer and off you go without having to watch over it. Got to love that! It is so great to be able to cook your favourites with minimum oil (or no oil at all!) The Airfryer has really taken the stress out of cooking for me and my kids are loving the results!

I've cooked a quick and easy dish for the kids mid-week. Chicken wings and drumsticks marinated in garlic, BBQ sauce and a little sugar - is an easy recipe. The chicken was cooked perfectly and only took 15 minutes with no mess grease to clean off the stove top. Lovely and golden on the outside and succulent and juicy on the inside. The kids loved them. I'll never make chicken any other way!

I marinated some chicken tikka and thought I would try cooking it in the AIrfryer. They were bite size pieces and took only five minutes at 180°C. I really am so happy with it...no oil used except to lightly spray the basket before chicken was added. It was so tender that everyone commented on it.
Egg turned out soft and fluffy.
by tillyCombined rating
This was one of my recipe's from last week that I tried. Perfect
Double review...Airfryer has crumpets ready in a flash!

I have been reviewing the Golden Crumpets with Oats and prepared some in the Airfryer with cheese and chilli flakes in just 2 minutes at 160°C. With six of us in the family...even I was able to sit and enjoy them with everyone as they were ready so quickly! Perfectly cooked, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Much easier then using the grill in the oven and no back bending involved or waiting for the grill to get hot.

I received my air fryer today after much anticipation. My son wanted me to open my present in the post office. No such luck. Spring rolls were the first dish to go in to test drive my little beauty. Within 10 minutes i had them all crispy and done. No preheating needed as I thought there may have as I added on the couple extra minutes of a just in case. The box said 17 minutes and after 10 minutes I know I could of have had them done in 5-7. Very quiet to use, however steam (smoke) comes from the back of the unit not too sure if it was due to the first use or a regular thing. Easy fixed place under range hood and let the fan go to alleviate this issue. It does take away the whisper quietness but oh well what the hay I have an air fryer. See you soon

I received my AirFryer yesterday and since I had already taken sausages out for dinner decided to give it a whirl, wasn't sure what I was doing so took a while to cook them, but they tasted much nicer cooked in the AirFryer than they do being cooked in the pan on the stovetop, just waiting for my bananas to go a little brown, and will then give a Banana Cake a whirl.
Still loving it.

My next review I wanted to cook a very basic dish and that is home made chips. They say to soak potatoes prior but I didn't have time for that so I zapped them in the microwave for just 1 minute prior to cooking just to get a bit of moisture in the potato I also tossed them in olive oil after this. I preheated at 180 deg then baked for just 14 minutes and the result was just amazing. Best chips I have ever eaten. This is a wonderful new way of cooking and I am loving it.
Fantastic for making a crunch on casseroles.
by tillyCombined rating
In my reviews I am trying to cover all foods and cooking styles so tonight's review was with my famous Tuna casserole. The dish ingredients are all put together then normally requires oven baking so everything heats up and the cheese to melt and just to add that extra crunch to the chips. I set the temp to 180 deg no pre-heating and set the timer for 5 minutes and the result was once again perfect. Normally in an oven this at least take 15 minutes. So I highly recommend the Phillips fryer not only for cooking but to add the finishing touch.
Loving being able to learn.

Another recipe cooked today. I cooked prawns in the Airfryer. First try- I put some prawns just in on the mesh wire tray cooked for 8 minutes but made sure I pre-heated the machine to 180 deg and I found the prawns to be dry even though I had done them in my mix prior to cooking. Second try- I decided to place them in the cooking dish that I had in my cupboard which isglass pirex, same dish that my chicken dish is in. Anyway I added a tiny bit of cream and the result was perfect. I found the prawns were so much more juicy and did not dry out at all. This is what I was saying in one of the previous reviews, that it depends on the type of meat to how you cook it. So I trialled with this one and the end result was perfection. I would also say that these would cook in a fry pan for the same time as well so it is no quicker cooking prawns in the Airfryer.

I thought as I cooked 5 meals in the Phillips Airfryer today that I would post more photo's. I cooked a Frangipani cake and the result as you can see, was very succulent and moist and the whole family and guests got a piece and it was enjoyed by all. To cook the cake I put it on a low setting and cooked for roughly 35 minutes. I love the ease of the drawer tray that you just pull it out and that you can check on the food constantly while learning temperatures and times. I have to say another successful dish in the Airfryer.

As you can tell I was super excited to be reviewing the Phillips Airfryer XL and you can tell by the amount of dishes cooked and reviewed. Spent the whole day today cooking. So here is another. I cooked a rack of lamb and the meat was just so tender as you can see in the photo. I do not like raw meat as some do ( MKR) So cooked to perfection. I pre-heated to 170 deg wanted to try it on a lower cooking temp and I cooked it roughly 40 minutes. Once again it is fabulous to be able to open the drawer so you can see how it is cooking. Another great thing is I have not burnt myself at all which I do on occasion when using an oven. The food also comes out beautiful and hot. Picture is taken of only half the lamb rack as I couldn't help myself from tucking in.

An easy and popular test for the airfryer would have to be chips. What better way to see if this product really does the job or not. We had some friends over and needed a nice quick snack. I pre-heated the airfryer (2 mins) to 200 degrees and cooked a whole bag of frozen chips. 15 mins later we have super crispy chips. I did give it a bit of a shake at the half way mark so the chips were crispy all over and best thing of all..NO OIL added. Yum!

Grilled Cheese doesn't require much culinary skill, but it was a great test on the Phillips Air Fryer. Honestly I didn't expect it to work. One piece of buttered bread with some herbed soy cheese on top...5 minutes later it was done. The bread was toasted, and the cheese was oozey. A really fast snack for the kids! I'm impressed.

So I found some mini loaf tins in my baking cupboard, and was so excited that I could finally try baking in the Airfryer! I found a recipe for gluten free ginger cake, and actually had all the ingredients so I was all ready winning. I turned on the Airfryer to preheat to 175 and it only took me a few minutes to mix and get it in the pans - but by the time it was ready, the Airfryer had already turned off - a great safety feature! So I turned it back on and within a minute it was beeping at me to tell me it was ready! The basket fitted the two mini loaf pans perfectly, and I set the timer for 15 minutes (recipe said 20-25, but I thought I'd be conservative given the airflow). About halfway through, the cakes had risen nicely (something that rarely happens when I use my oven) a they were a little brown on top so I reduced the temperature to 155. When the timer went off, the cakes were cooked beautifully! Overall, very impressed by the baking ability of the Airfryer - quick, easy and fuss free.
Less Oil
by kazonCombined rating
I have been really short on time lately, so I have bought pre-made pasties. Usually I would put these in the oven straight from the freezer, but find the bases get soggy and a lot of oil drips from them. I tried them in the airfyer this time and I think I'll be using it every time now. Flaky pastry all round and doesn't drip with oil. Taste so much better.
Like how quick and easy the phillips Airfryer XL is.
by tillyCombined rating
I have only had the fryer for 1 day and already I have used it 5 times. I am cooking a wide variety of foods to get myself used to the product. The time frame of cooking is so much less than cooking in an oven and I have found that my chicken came out so succulent.. I have had to find small cooking dishes to fit in the tray until I go out and purchase the tray that fits with a handy carry handle that is designed for the Airfryer. The product has been easy to use but have had a few errors just learning ( example-baking paper burning due to flying around as it was not secured enough with weight). I think it will take a bit of time to fully master times and best ways to cook specific foods. So far I have found that some are better done in a casserole dish with juices compared to just laying in the tray without juices. This depends on the type and cut of meat. My overall experience is that I am enjoying learning. Picture is of one of the dishes that I cooked today. Chicken With Basil Cream Sauce--- Cooked to perfection.

Tonight I tried the Ratatouille recipe that was supplied with the Airfyer. This is the healthiest version I've ever made as it only required 1 tablespoon of oil! This dish was very quick to prepare and only required 15 minutes cooking time. The flavour of the vegetables were retained during cooking and the result was very good! This recipe is fantastic if you are wanting to watch the calories. It would go brilliantly with grilled fish or used as a stir- through with your favourite pasta. I love the fact that the Airfyer is sooo easy to clean - just a quick wipe with a paper towel and you're done. If you're wanting a great appliance that will enable you to cook tasty low- fat meals then the Philips Airfryer XL is definitely worth considering.

This is my second review after using the product a little more. I cooked some calamari in their and found that it became quite smokey, enough smoke that I had to open the windows in the house. I couldnt see any reason for this as nothing was burning in there. I stopped cooking re cleaned everything however it kept happening. I think that perhaps frozen items which have a high oil content may cause the smoking as it doesnt seem to happen with chips, ill keep an eye on it. Anyway, on to the baking, I baked my first cake in this and loved it, exactly 20 mins and cooked perfectly! I had to source a smaller cake tin as the basket is still fairly small on the cooker but I was very happy with the results (especially as I am going on to my 6th year without an oven!) All in all the love affair with the Airfrier continues, I find it very easy to clean and it is still taking pride of place on the benchtop.
Throwing out the deep fryer, Philips Airfryer saves the day!

I was so excited to have been chosen as a part of this review. As an avid foodie and mother of 2 young children I am always trying to keep my food healthy. Unfortunately though it doesn't always work out that way. I must admit that on nights where I am looking for an easy simple meal I often turn to my deep fryer making home-made chips and nuggets or other such things like spring rolls and dim-sims. Arriving home on Friday to find my package at the door with my Philips Airfyer in it, I was overcome with excitement and couldn't wait to give it a whirl! Having worked all weekend though I finally had the chance to get in the kitchen last night and try out the Airfryer. I decided to start with a simple dish of Cajun Spiced Sweet Potato Chips. Pulling out the instruction sheet, I found the set up really easy to understand and within 2 minutes I became a whizz at the operation side of things. Plus one for the Airfryer. Having prepared my Chips earlier and drizzling with a little Olive oil and cajun spice I place them in the basket, turned it on set the temperature and time and away we went. Plus two for the Airfryer. Fifteen minutes later, the buzzer went off and to might amazement out came the most delectable, low fat, slightly spiced sweet potato chips. The excess oil had dripped into the tray below which left my chips not dripping in oil and I didn't have to stress about feeding my children unhealthy food. Plus three for the Airfryer. After one use so far I am in love. It's easy to use. Easy to clean and a great way to make unhealthy foods healthy. I can't wait to try it again with a new dish tonight. So far I would definitely recommend this to my mummy friends out there.
A great unit that will cook your wedges perfectly.
by Sonya LCombined rating
I was very happy to receive my Philips Airfryer XL today. I love the outer design of the unit and the fact that there are no knobs that can be broken - it is all touch operated. I was pleased that the accompanying recipe book had some simple recipes that was suitable for all home cooks. So what do I cook first? That was a no-brainer because I love anything that is potato and crispy, so it had to be Potato Wedges. I followed the instructions and decided to add my own seasoning of rosemary, cracked black pepper, sea salt and my own garlic-infused olive oil. The cooking process was very simple and something that I could manage with my 2 year hanging of my leg and a 4 month old wanting a feed :) I like the fact that the Airfryer came to the required temperature very quickly and was not excessively noisy. In regards to capacity it seems adequate for an average family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 small children. If you need more than this then you may need to do your cooking on batches. The real plus about this unit that it is a very healthy alternative to frying - you can enjoy a 'fried' treat without the guilt factor. PROs Neat design Easy to clean Not very noisy Touch control Time-efficient CONs Despite being labelled as 'XL' you would have to do repeat batches for a large family. Look forward to cooking my next dish in the Airfyer and posting another review!
First use - impressed!

I was so excited when a big parcel was delivered to my door yesterday - my Philips Airfryer XL had arrived! I unpacked it and have to say I was slightly disappointed that the XL does not come with a baking tin like the smaller Viva model, and my cake tins do not fit in the basket (too wide as they have handles) So it looks like I will be shopping on the weekend for suitable baking dishes. I wanted to use it straight away, but had to work so it sat on the bench until dinner time. The kiddies (aged 3 and 1) had been at daycare all day, so a simple meal was planned - (homemade) chips and (frozen) nuggets. I followed the directs for making homemade chips in the fryer, including soaking the cut potato in water for half an hour (I'm not sure exactly why this is required, but being the first time I was using the Airfyer I thought I would follow all the instructions). The Airfryer did not take long to come to temperature (as long as it took to wash and cut up two potatoes), and while not as fast as a conventional fat fryer (the chips were in the Airfryer for 25 minutes) the results were comparable to oven chips. The frozen nuggets took no time to cook (around 6 minutes) and were crispy and crunchy (much better results than oven cooking). And all was cooked with only 1tsp of olive oil! The big test came when the kiddies ate all their dinner - not a crumb left on either plate! I will be more adventurous with my next review and attempt to make something a little more exciting (and nutritious). But for the first try I give it the thumbs up!

I was treated to this delicious lemon and strawberry tart made by my 11 year old son as a surprise for Mother's Day. He used the Airfryer to cook the pastry shell. As I was not allowed downstairs yet alone in the kitchen I only have basic information. The pastry was cooked for fifteen mins at 160°C. If I had been allowed to be present I would have said to cook at 170-180 but it was a surprise. It fitted our loose base cake pan. It tasted good but was not cooked for long enough in my opinion. Not sure I want to share MY Airfryer just yet.
Surprisingly good!

When I first received the box, I was surprised at how big the machine was. I have a small kitchen so it was massive in comparison. As soon as I received it, I used it to cook dinner that night. I was surprisingly impressed at how well my dinner was cooked in an extremely efficient way. The instructions are easy to follow and the control panel is easy to view and simple to get the hang of. I cooked some Bolognaise pasties which usually would take about 40 min in my oven but only took 10 mins in the airfryer. My only main issue would be that considering the actual size of the machine and even the fact that it's XL, it doesn't fit a lot of things at once. Overall it is an innovative way to cook quickly and healthily at the same time.

The airfryer cooks better then the deep fryer. At first its hard to get used to not using oil and not tasting that oily taste but its for the better. We cook the kids nuggets and they come out perfect and taste better then ever. Quick & easy. You can make so much different stuff and its fun to experiment
Great if you're watching the calories
by Sonya LCombined rating
Tonight I tried my Arancini (rice balls filled with meat and mozzarella) in the Airfryer. These arancini are traditionally deep-fried and are very delicious. I thought I'd put them in the Airfyer to reduce the calorie factor. The final result was ok - if somewhat dry. If you are wanting to save on the calories then the Airfyer is fantastic, however I think these treats are nicer fried.
Quick and easy and most important healthy!
by liztkCombined rating
I have been using the air fryer for several months now and have found it to be a quick, easy and healthy alternative to cooking. I made kale chips in 4 mins with couple drops of oil and salt. The result amazing crunchy and oh so healthy. Love my air fryer
Overall Review - Philips Airfryer
by vixxx222Combined rating
One month of cooking with the Philips Airfryer, and I'm pretty impressed. Most impressive: It's very simple to operate. Being small and fan operated, it reaches it's temperature, and cooks food, very quickly. This makes it ideal for busy mums, cooking a fast meals, side dishes or making snacks. Personally I think it's more like a mini oven, than a fryer. Health wise: The circulated air, browns and crisps, with little or no oil at all. Baking is super fast. However, some foods just need a frypan/stove and a splash more oil to get the results. Least impressive: It's a very big machine for the benchtop. Hot air does blow out the top and back, which could eventually leave a stain if not positioned near an exhaust fan. Also the basket is very small, so it's mostly suited to cooking side dishes, or snacks - it's not practical for a big family feast unless you do batches of cooking.

Chicken Wings are on the Menu...Thanks to the Airfryer
by gitaCombined rating
I marinated these chicken wings overnight. We do not have pre-prepared foods due to the fact they contain additives, preservatives, food colours etc. Chicken wings are not something we have often as I don't like how the fat collects in the oven dish and can make them greasy. These wings were cooked for 10 minutes at 180°C and then 5 mins at 170°C. They were juicy and delicious and gone in minutes! Definitely will make these again as they were extremely tasty and the fat from the skin dripped through he basket. There was some smoke coming out of the unit...but I read this is expected when there is a lot of fat.
Quick and easy baked apples
by mickeymf74Combined rating
Tonight I made baked apples in the airfryer in no time at all, well compared to the oven. I out them in a cold machine and they baked in 20min. Everyone loved them.
Fast lunch for kids
by mickeymf74Combined rating
Quick post as I'm in the car. We needed a quick lunch today. Decided to heat purchased frozen sausage rolls and party pies in the airfryer. It was quick and easy. 3 min warm up and 10 min cooking. Much faster than the oven. Disappointed about not coming with the double rack still as I had to do two batches. With the rack would have been only one. Items were crispy all over with no soggy bottoms. I'm going to have to contact Phillips and purchase the accessories.
Orange cake
by mickeymf74Combined rating
This is a quick review. Made an orange cake today in the airfryer. Usually cooks in my oven for 60 mins, cooked in airfryer in around 35 min. Was very moist.
Amazing Pork Belly
by mrsrampoCombined rating
I received my Phillips Airfryer yesterday and I had to think quickly about what I wanted to cook first so I could post my first review. I watched a few videos online and looked at some recipes and decided on pork belly as I had some in the freezer and I thought it would be a good starting point. I decided to start the pork belly on 200 for 30 minutes and then I checked it and it was starting to get crispy but was still running pink juices so I put it back in at 190 for another 15 minutes. It was so yummy and it looked great (I will post a photo and put recipe up in the recipe section). So far I am loving the Airfryer and will be back to post more reciews as I have a few things to play around with over the weekend :)
Reasonable firtst attempt at cheesecake
by mickeymf74Combined rating
I have never baked a cheesecake before (apart form fridge set),. I decided to make the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake which is in the recipe book. I even made my own ricotta. As a first attempt not bad. I didnt have the correct size pan, so I will need to invest in one. The verdict from the family was that it was yummy and make again.

Lots of experimenting in the past few days
by mickeymf74Combined rating
In the past few days i have been making a few things. Last night a group of us met at a friends house. I took the airfryer and cooked up nuggets and wedges for the kids. No complaints from anyone. Nothing like deep fried however much better than oven as items not sitting on a try getting soggy underneath. I also made bread and butter pudding. I had the oven to hot so it did burn on top however those who ate it had no complaints. Today i roasted up some pumpkin for soup. It only took 15mins where in the oven would have taken 30min and longer to heat up. I also wanted to try home made bread. I have a Thermomix so used the EDC recipe and cooked them in a cold airfryer for 15 mins. This used half the dough then I cooked the remained dough while the airfryer was still hot for 15. All turned out well. I would def cook the bread in here again.
Perfect Mixed Roast Vegetables
by mickeymf74Combined rating
Tonight for tea we were having a massive leg of lamb roast (far to big for the airfryer) so I decided to roast the vegetables in the airfryer. It was super fast and I was impressed. I chopped the vegetables far bigger than the recommended 2cm squares as stated in the recipe book. From start to finish took about 28 mins. The vegetables were evenly cooked and fluffy on the inside. If I cooked this in my oven it would have taken easily double the time. As far as energy consumption (presuming I didn't already have my oven turned on) the kw used in the airfryer is less than my oven and I only need the airfryer on for a shorter time. so the energy consumption and cost of running would be less.
This Airfryer looks the business...it is certainly larger than I expected.

I was really surprised that I was picked to review this product and extremely glad. I am a skeptical person and like to see results first hand, I picked it up from the post office this afternoon and couldn't wait to put it to the test. First test - dumplings. I sprayed some I had prepared and frozen with very little oil and placed in the airfryer. I usually steam them because I hate how if they are not sealed properly there is alot of spluttering oil...and hence more cleaning up. My four kids and husband like them fried best. They turned out crispy and delicious after 15 mins of cooking...but I think I need to experiment with the temperature more to get them perfect. I was impressed with the fact that I didn't have to stand over them. They weren't greasy at all but had that nice fried taste which was good. I haven't scored high on versatility yet as I need to try more recipes. Easy to clean afterwards...which is always a bonus!
Easy Oven Food for the kids
by mrsrampoCombined rating
Today for much my boys wanted chicken nuggets and chips. I had some frozen in the freezer so I preheated the Airfryer to 200 which only takes a few minutes compared to my oven. Popped 500 grams to chips and 8 nuggets in the basket (it could have fit more but that's all we needed) I thought it might take 15 minutes to cook but they were done in 12 minutes. I did shake the basket half way through the cooking process. The chips and chicken nuggets were great nice and crispy and the chips were so fluffy on the inside. I was surprised how well they turned out and was very impressed at how quick it was to prepare my boys lunch and I love how quick it is to clean up especially as us Mums have better things to do than do the dishes :)
Crunchy Pork Belly
by mickeymf74Combined rating
This is a slow post as I cooked this last night. I personally don't eat pork however I decided to cook up some pork belly for my husband. Took about 25-30 mins to cook. His verdict was that it was very nice. Nicer than if it had been cooked in the oven. He is very please that he does not need to share it. Asked him if I should cook it again and he replied yes. The only issue that I had was the it was very smokey. I needed to put the machine under the range hood with the extratction fan flat out.

These werent the best tasting but Im certainly going to try them again Way quicker to use the airfryer
Vegetable Croquettes for the kids
by vixxx222Combined rating
A quick dinner for the kids - Vegetable Croquettes, with Sweet Potato chips and a tossed salad. Found some left-over mash from last night, added some vegies, crumbed it, and into the Phillips Air Fryer. 15 minutes later.... The croquettes came out amazingly crunchy, and so did the sweet potato chips. Although a little difficult to do everything in the one basket, it's an excellent alternative to the oven, for a super fast and healthy dinner.
Chips!
by vixxx222Combined rating
We all love chips, so that's the first thing I cooked in the Philips Air fryer. Air frying is definitely a much healthier option than deep frying, however, in regards to taste, the chips were no different than home made chips, baked in the oven. They were brown and crispy, but had no crunch. They tasted more like a baked potato wedge than a chip. Air fried chips are healthy, tasty and enjoyable, but unfortunately the deep-fryer reins supreme in this chip challenge.
I am in a relationship with a smoker....
by MrsStacey79Combined rating
Now, I have cooked most things in this machine, Chips, Cake, Seafood, lamb chops and most recently, Marinated chicken legs. For the most part, I love it, it does the BEST chips and awesome perfect cakes every time. There is one major flaw however, it really does smoke, a lot. I tried some polenta chips in there, it smoked out my entire house, after 8 mins! - there was no sign of anything burning in there and I always clean it completely after each use so I cant even tell why it smokes like it does. I find that with oven chips and cakes there is no issue with the smoking so there is nothing stuck in there, I am at a loss. So there is my issue, I love the machine, however I have had to banish it to the outside deck whenever I cook anything like meat in there, at least then I don't have to have all the windows open and the extraction fan on flat out in winter. I do love my machine but this relationship has its flaws. Thankyou MOM for giving me the chance to review this product for you..
My second week.
by ms2ttCombined rating
I tried the airfryer with an oven ready salt and pepper squid. I was happy that it was quick and crispy and it cooked really well. Definitely will be using the airfryer for more of those quick oven ready dishes. I also did try and make a cake, but for some reason it took forever and didn't work out. I was extremely disappointed as I don't understand how a cheesecake can be made if a simple pound cake cannot be baked. I will try other options but I have to say the cake baking put me off the airfryer a tad.
First Impression
by mickeymf74Combined rating
So excited the Airfryer arrived today. On opening the box and opening the instructions and recipe book first I must say I feel a little let down. It would be easier to read the instructions in booklet form rather than opening up the little paper phamlet and flicking through. I also expected to see more recipes in the book. I am finding the recipe booklet difficult to read due to the different languages all being mixed in on the same page. It would be much easier to read if the different languages were grouped individually to allow the reader to flow through the book. I noticed a 2 year warranty which I think is a good feature as most appliances like this are only 1 year. I do agree with another review on here, I feel for the price range that this falls into that the accessories should be included. As it is aimed at a family the double rack and the baking dish shoud be included to maximise the unit potential. I really would like the baking dish than trying to find something that will fit. That all aside I got straight to cooking. Sorry no pic as I was running out of time. Tonight on the menu was a marinated split roast chicken, wedges (frozen) and steamed vegies. Bit of trial and error with the chicken and messing with the temperature however that was just me tyring to find the best function. Family loved the meal. The overall verdict was the chicken skin was nice and crispy while the chicken stayed moist just like a rotisserie chicken. The wedges were also evenly cooked (more even than the oven) and fluffy on the inside. So first basic attempt a success. I must say that I do like being able to pop the trays in the dishwasher. Be back tomorrow after more experimenting. Thinking of trying springs rolls tomorrow.
Low fat cooking

The Airfryer is a great way to keep normally 'fried' foods a bit healthier for the family. It uses a tiny amount of oil and also rotates to cook the food evenly. I do find I am a bit limited to the types of meals I can cook in it, but other than that, it is a welcome addition to our busy family kitchen!

Perfect for most things
by fizgigCombined rating
I purchased the air fryer. I have found that some things it is brilliant - anything premade from the supermarket that require oven cooking (spring rolls, etc). My hubby caught some calamari and I crumbed it, spayed it with olive oil and did them in batches in the fryer. They turned out fabulous! Chips from scratch are a pain as you need to soak the potatoes for 20 mins first. But I find that as there are 6 of us I am pushing it to its limits. You have to remember to put oil in home made stuff, but a lot less oil than frying.
Didn't have a great cook up last night
by mickeymf74Combined rating
Wednesday nights at our place are always hectic after work. Tea was what I call frozen delight consisting of chips, chicken nuggets, vegetable patties and salmon. I really could of done with a basket which has a divider last night so I could keep the chips separated from the rest of the food. There was not a lot of food in the basket however the air had trouble circulating around. I think the divider would of helped solved this problem so I could segregate the food. I also made the apple tartin however, this did not work out. Nothing to do with the appliance only that I was in a rush and read the recipe wrong. I will try it again over the weekend. I wonder if philips are reading these comments and taking on our feedback? So far to make the appliance more aimed at families and family friendly to get maximum potential it should have a divided basket, come with the baking dish and come with the double rack. I am off today to try and find cake tins that will fit properly in the machine.

So this is the last week for the reviews and unfortunately I was away so I was unable to use it as much as I possibly could. However, I did use it once I got back as I was exhausted and sore all over. This time I was quite disappointed because I cooked chips according to the recipe provided with the airfryer, but it seemed to take longer and it wasn't as crispy as I had imagined. I also cooked some nuggets which came out perfectly and was a great snack for everyone. Overall I am really greatful I was able to be part of this reviewing process, but I would not purchase the airfryer at the RRP. It is far to expensive and it isn't always quick to use. Overall my experience was great.
Homemade Spring Rolls
by mickeymf74Combined rating
This morning I decided to try homemade spring rolls for the first time ever. I did not use the recipe in the book as I adapted my own by the ingredients I already had in the fridge. I did three batches. one without oil. one with olive oil spray and the other with canola spray. I feel the canola spray worked the best however they still just seem oven baked to me. I will try another lot in a few days with oil brushed over the surface. The kids will still love them just the same. They were quicker to cook in the Airfryer than what they would have taken in the oven.
Disappointing amount of smoke
by mickeymf74Combined rating
Decided tonight would be the night to cook steak. The taste result was great and hubby was very pleased. The pieces of porterhouse were cooked in 10 mins. The only downside was the smoke. The smoke was terrible and filled the house. I did have the airfryer sitting next to the hot plates with the range hood going flat out but still did not make much differences. Pit the cord is not longer so I can place under the range hood. I would like to cook steak again in it however don't think I could handle the smoke again. Very disappointed in the smoke.
Pumpkin
by ms2ttCombined rating
I cooked some baked pumpkin in the airfryer the other day. I was hoping it would have been much quicker than the oven, but it wasn't. I made half a batch in the airfryer and half a batch in the oven. Both at 200C. The oven I put on for longer at 40min and the airfryer at 35. The one in the oven was done at 40min, the usual time, but the one in the airfryer still was hard. I was disappointed to say the least.
Feeling Disappointed
by mickeymf74Combined rating
I am feeling disappointed in the Airfryer. Wheever I cook meat it smokes excessively. The other night when cooking hamburgers and then before that cooking chicken drumsticks the whole house got smoked out. That is with the appliance sitting under the rangehood with the extraction going flat out. Currently if I don't want to fill my house with smoke and open all the doors (not a good option living in rural vic this time of year) so all i can cook in it is vegetables, chips and cakes. I have attahced a pic of the chicken drumsticks and risotto balls which a cooked in the airfryer. Love the size of this appliance however the smoke is causing a real problem. Starting to think that I cannot recommend.
