Review: McCormick Flavour Shots

I brought some of these personally as i wanted to try them and i made a delicious chicken and vegetable soup

I made the chicken curry tonight, so quick and easy. Loved the flavour, not to hot, just right for us :) the only thing I did different was added 500gms of chicken, not 1kg... I thought it was heaps. It's make lots so plenty of leftovers. Will absolutely be buying again :)

Super easy to use and full of flavour. I have made chile con carne with other recipe bases before and hubby has hated them and has never been a fan of kidney beans. Hubby love love loved it. Will definitely be purchasing this in the future. Not really something we could give our 18month old but may have to become a mid week staple anyway. Yummo. Can\'t wait to try the others.

I decided to give Chicken fried rice McCormick Flavour shot a try for dinner one night. It was quick and easy to make. Great taste and flavour. dinner was really good. everyone loved the chicken fried rice. will recommend it to all my friends and family.

Could not believe how such a little parcel could deliver such flavour. Quick and easy, with no fuss. Definitely has made dinner time less fuss so that i can spend more time with the family.

This was an awesome way to start our Flavour Shot journey! We came home late from DHs dental appointment and thought "What are we having for dinner that would be quick?" An saw the free samples sitting on the bench. The whole dish took about 20 mins to whip up as we had to wait for the rice to cook, but the smells coming from the pan were divine. Served way more than 4 serves the package said, I ate my fill, the 4 kids (6, 4, 2.5 and 1) all had bowls and my DH had about 3 bowls, plus I had lunch leftovers for the next 2 days. I was impressed with the amount made, taste and the ease of preparation. Will definetly buy again and can't wait to try the other flavours!

I was given a spanish chicken one by a friend who had bought it but didn't like it. I loved it, and my daughter now keeps asking for spanner chicky!

wow just tried the Spanish Chicken Hotpot kitchen smells wonderful so tasty so easy am very happy with this one I put in extra chicken and used spring onions and it came out fine these flavour shots are just awesome

Pad Thai, this was delicious, as good as if not better than the local takeaway shop. It was quick and we found it was a real treat for the middle of the week.

I was pretty excited when my samples arrived, they all looked so good, I didn't know which one to try first, as it turned out I had everything I needed for chicken fried rice so cooked it that night. So quick, so easy and so Delicious. Took no more than 20 mins. The whole family loved it and wanted seconds so lucky it makes a lot. I don't usually cook with herbs and spices so something like the flavour shots it perfect.

OMG. i can still remember the flavour. my mouth is watering. my fussy kids loved them too. will definately be adding this.to weekly menu. cant choose favourite tho. will hv to get ine of each and do a lucky dip. rarely do my kids ask for more as this style isnt their fave but they were really disappointed wen tgere wasnt more left for them wen they shocked me by asking. well done mccormucks....u hv win my whole household over with these. yum yum yummy.

These were a great hit in my family, especially the chicken fried rice which before trying these i had never attempted to make before. These shots are always on my shopping list now and actually make the meal planning so much easier as everyone loved them.

I have recently used the chicken fried rice shots. I have to say it was very easy to use and I did not have many ingredience, just rice, left over chicken, carrot and peas and using the shot turned this boring stir fry into a spicy tasty one! We do like spice and were not expecting the spicy flavour, (maybe I missed it on the packet) however the dish was wolfed down and I shall defiantly keep some in the cupboard to turn a plain meal into an interesting one again.

i trialled these and loved them. I used the recipies on the pack first and my family liked them so much that i bought more. this time i varied not just the meats in them but the way i used them. Some i used as marinades and some as a stand alone sauce. My grandson is in a hostel situation where they are teaching him to do everything for himself including cooking . I got him some of these and now all the boys in the hostel are buying them. they love them as they make several meals for each of them and have reduced their food bill tremendously. Thank you for the trial and thank you McCormick for the product.

The flavour was so good for so little energy. So convenient & easy to prepare. I will definitely will be trying all the flavours.

I recently purchased one of these being the pad Thai & it was amazing. The flavour was intense without being overpowering. So convenient & easy to prepare. I look forward to trying other flavours :)

of all the products tested this was the one my husband picked up in the supermarket when we were shopping after i had used this product. He adored the product and had two servings of it for the meal and suggested we use this for the guests we were having that weekend. I did so and they too enjoyed it and have since purchased it. Yummy for our tummy!

Spanish chicken hotpot. Mine wasn't spanish chicken as my husband will not eat the same meat two nights in a row, i used this base and used thinly sliced beef and chunks of chorizo sausages. My husband fooled me and asked to take it for lunch the next day! A winner in my book!

The McCormick Flavour Shots - Zesty Chicken curry was divine! Mostly curries have a few spices & herbs and having them on hand at once is not always possible. The flavour shot had all the spices in one and was so convenient. The zesty chicken curry was delicious. The mild flavours meant that my kids could enjoy it, served with some Naan, it was a wonderful meal!

I absolutely loved this Flavour Shots Chilli Con Carne and so did my daughter. I used this Flavour Shots for our taco's and the traditional Mexican flavour was superb. Very quick and easy to prepare and so deliciously scrumptious. We are looking forward to trying the other flavours and I am excited to have found such authentic flavours in such easy to make dishes. Definitely a huge fan and will now be hunting Flavour Shots on the supermarket shelves with every grocery shop. So delicious!

My family tried the pad thai, it was a hit with the whole family including 2 fussy toddlers! I cannot wait to the rest of the range!

I usually pride myself on homemade chilli con carne, but after trying the "spanner chicken" I thought I would give the chilli a go - not so popular with the little one, but it is the first time hubby has gone back for seconds - a success!

After playing eeny, meeny, miny, moe and landing on the Pad Thai Flavour Shot, I got all the ingredients ready (See pic) and then started cooking the chicken, whilst soaking the noodles. About ten minutes later I was dishing up a delcious Pad Thai quicker than if I'd ordered one from the local takeaway! Got the thumbs up from everyone around the table and I'll be cooking it again! Can't wait to try the rest of the range now!

This was a massive hit for our meal tonight it was amazing, so tasty and a real treat to not have to try too hard but still cooked an amazing tasting meal. The only downfall is that it says it serves 4 on the packet but it only made enough for two adults and one 2yr old and only just!

We had the Spanish Chicken Hotpot which was very nice, the flavours were just right not to spicy, not to bland, satisfied a fussy teenager who has asked to have it again, it's on the shopping list.

I would buy this again any day. The chicken fried rice was great and so easy to do. Going to the Pad Thai next.

These are such a great idea! So easy to use and tasty flavour combinations. I tried the Spanish Chicken Hotpot but used it with mince and it made a quick and delicious mid-week meal. Will definitely try the Zesty Chicken Curry and the Chilli Con Carne – lovely winter warmers now the cooler weather is here!

I am buying these flavoured shots on a regular basis now. I recently cooked with the chicken fried rice one & my fried rice tasted amazing. So easy to use with a delicious flavour. I'm testing the Pad Thai tomorrow night & have a few I keep in my pantry as they are so handy.

These McCormick flavour shots are a great idea. I used the chilli con carne one in my spag bol yesterday (to see what it was like) and it instantly lifted the flavour. It was so easy to use - just open the packet and pop in! My hubby and little 2 & 1/2 year old loved it - said it was one of the best spag bols I've ever made! I am planning on using the pad thai one tomorrow for dinner.

Although i am a SAHM, i still get so busy with three little kids i have to feed and clean and run after. Some days it feels even hard to cook dinner. And i do it at the very last time, when i feel that their is no choice ;) . i had to try this product and it worked wonders for me. because i was usually hopeless at bringing taste in my dishes, even salt was mostly less or too much in my meals so hubby kept complaining. But no more thanks to these flavor shots. And they are so easy to buy. thanks

omg yum I have so far tried all of them and im now addicted its soo easy and convenient to use, my Favorite has to be the chicken fried rice I have made it three times already and the kidz are in love just as much as I am, if anyone hasnt tried them your truly missing out,

I was very skeptical when I got them to be perfectly honest but it only took me cooking my first one (the chilli con carne) to kick my skepticism out the door. They really are flavour shots! I thoroughly enjoyed cooking with each and every one and my family loved them too. It offered plenty of flavour and definitely enough to do a full families meal. We've already gone otu and bought more and convinced my family to try them to and they're now die hard fans too. Awesome recipe bases and SO easy to use!

This was really more-ish - not too overpowering in flavour and seriously top quality. I've eaten Pad Thai at restaurants and this actually tasted better than what I have eaten dining out. I will definitely be buying this and will recommend anyone who likes Thai food to give it a go!

I was really surprised at how yummy this product was. It was super easy to make, and my husband even had seconds! It was a bit spicier than I anticipated, so I couldn't give it to my toddler, but definitely a yummy adults meal!

The Chilli Con Carne Flavour Shot is my favourite so far. I used Vegi Delights Nutmeat instead of mince, and honestly, you couldn't tell the difference. The Mexican flavour was very authentic, and served with a side of green veges in garlic butter it made for a delicious, wholesome, meat-free meal.

this was a very easy one to use, i simply followed the directions on the inside of the pack and produced a butter chicken type meal. jNext time i use this i wall add a few more vegies as it would then make aenough to freeze as well

I used the McCormick Flavour Shots - Spanish Chicken Hotpot however, substituted to Beef. Having made a few Chicken meals for the week, I wanted to have a beef dish. The flavours were actually very complimentary to the beef as well. The best thing about the Flavour Shots is you can use the recipe that is included on the pack or substitute to suit your family! The Spanish hotpot was delicious and a hearty meal for the cooler months. The flavours were bold and engaging for the pallet yet mild enough for my toddlers to enjoy!

It's amazing how much flavour is packed into a little shot for the Pad Thai. An easy and delicious meal that the whole family can enjoy. Kids love noodles & the Pad Thai is wonderful to incorporate hidden veggies & eggs into it.

The chicken fried rice is amazing! Very simple to prepare and even my fussy 4 yr old enjoyed it. Also tasted great for lunch the next day. Great that the recipe uses everyday ingredients that form part of my usual grocery shop. Will definitely be buying this.

The Chilli Con Carne flavour shot was amazing! So much flavour packed into a tiny little shot. Made it easy to also hide some baby spinach leaves and zucchini in the Chilli Con Carne, the kids wouldn't even know the difference. Quick, easy and delicious!

these products arrived yesterday and I used the pad thai for dinner, i was going to make that anyway but this saved me ages in prep and was just as nice as the homemade from scratch!

I wasn't accepted for this review so went out to purchase the zesty curry and cooked it last night and the flavors were just mouth watering. It was full of flavor and added that zesty flavor to the chicken and the whole family loved it. Can't wait to try the other flavors.

wow what can i say wow they where nice as the explosion of flavour with all fraovors they where great very easy to use the kids love the meals i cooked for once lol and it just help my cooking heaps, most shop have them in there store and there not to dear either go and buy them

I tried McCormick Flavour Shots Pad Thai shot and I was surprised at the balance of flavours captured in the little pot. The oil helps disperse the flavours throughout the noodles and veggies and chicken used and I continue to stock it in my pantry. I love how quick and easy it is to prepare Pad Thai now and am happy with this product!

This is amazing, taste very good, everyone in the family love the taste. Very easy to use and cook in no time. Great for mid week meal, or even something for change, taste fresh, i havnt got selected to try but read the review so i try it and dont disappointed at all. Would buy it to keep in the pantry!

I have used a couple of these and my family favourite is the fried rice one. It is good as it adds a bit of spice to what could be a very plain boring fried rice! I use left over meat and a few veggies cut up then just boil some rice and fry it all together. It is so simple to do and tastes good. A bit spicy for traditional fried rice, but we like spice.

I love the whole Flavour Shot concept & how easy they are to use & on tonight's menu was the Zesty Chicken Curry. I felt it contained a touch too much cumin for my liking & I wouldn't class it as Zesty. However I added some sweet chili sauce which gave it some heat & sweetness to the dish & it also seemed to dull the cumin taste. I added a heap of coriander & served it with rice. I will probably use it again

i have used the Pad Thai shot both as recommended in the pack and as a marinade for spicy pork ribs, so simple and to die for!

used another of my flavour shots last night, it was the pad thai, I used vermicilli noodles and added fresh prawn it was very nice everyone came back for seconds. Have recommended these shots to my friends.

I must admit after trying some previous brands of recipe bases and found them lacking in taste I was hesitant, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to give them a try. The first one I purchased was Pad Thai and I must say our entire family loved it, from my toddler to my teen! A big success, packed with flavour and versatile enough we made up the recommended recipe but have also used the recipe base in Asian noodle salad and all sorts of inspiring ways since. Versatile quick and easy - every moms dream!!

made the great Chilli Con Carn again this evening and forgot to mention in my previose review that I really like the fact that the shot caters for the whole family , Dad likes it hot so adds more chilli after I have made it but the kids like it as is, really is easy and versatile and easy to adapt to suit the whole family

Legitimately loved these little flavour shots; so convenient - didn't have to wonder whether I had all the necessary spices and flavour combinations on hand. Just add the veges and protein and you're away. Especially loved the Zesty Chicken Curry - wow, if you like lemon and chicken you'll love this dish. The Fried Rice was also completely easy; it was a flavour packed, simple mid week meal - exactly what the product promised. I don't often recommend these kind of products to others but have already suggested them to friends and family. Will be buying these again.

I personally don't like chilli foods but my hubby loves them and says this dish was very yummy full of flavor and would be great in a wrap or similar

We tried the Spanish chicken hotpot. It super easy and very quick, which is great as a Mum of 2 under 2yrs. My fussy almost 2 yr old loved it and asked for more!! It was full of flavour and totally yum!! We also have purchased the chicken fried rice and I'm looking forward to trying that one!!

This is my 3rd McCormick Flavour Shot this time it was the Chicken Fried Rice, my family just couldn't get enough of this one, they absolutely loved it and found it was a real treat for the middle of the week. It was so quick and easy to prepare, the ingredients were not that many so it was easy to shop for. Certainly buying this one.

Was delicious! I strayed from the recommended recipe, using less meat and more smuggled vegetables and substituting onion for the spring onion. So tasty, better than some fried rice that I've had from a Chinese restaurant! Would definitely recommend!

Really enjoyed this one, used the chilli con carne as nachos, and with the addition of cornchips, avocado, sour cream and cheese this made for a quick and easy and most importantly flavoursome dinner that will be definitely be getting cooked again! Also, I love the diversity of this dish, as it can be paired with many different options and will taste delicious with mexican rice or in tacos / burritos, etc etc

We had the Chilli Con Carne and it really does have true Mexican Flavour. Very easy to use and the kids loved it too. Time to try a different one this week but will use this one again and recommend to friends.

I have tested all of the shots and loved every one of them. I had to make substitutions due to personal taste and health restrictions, and they tasted great, just like the authentic meals, but can and will highly recommend these products, a fabulous stand by for unexpected guests or a quick and easy meal. No longer than 30 minutes from start to the table.

chicken fried rice: My hubby is not a huge fan of chicken so i substituted pork and white quinoa in this one, One we will buy again. it was easy, quick and simply delicious.

I wasn't selected to review Flavor Shots, but I did purchase the Chilli Con Carne one myself and it was delish!!! Perfect flavors and so easy to make. I served it with corn chips and sour cream and it was quickly gobbled by all!

So far I've tried the McCormick Flavour shots Pad Thai and I'm definitely going out of my way to give all the other flavours a try! Its such a clever idea, making mealtimes easier and a lot more tasty! My partner was a huge fan too (he even got into leftovers the next day!)

We used the Chicken Fried Rice flavour shot for dinner the other night. We had fried rice with stir-fried vegetables and Chinese char siu chicken. It was so simple to use, and gave the meal an authentic chinese flavour. I will definitely buy this product in the future.

I bought the Chicken Fried rice flavour shots after reading a review here & I was really impressed with the flavour. I'll be trying another one as they are great to have in the pantry for something different & tasty.

We would have this again, it was nice. Easy to make. It is nice trying these. No additives that upset us.

I tried the chicken fried rice and the pad Thai. Both flavour shots were really flavoursome and so simple. I love that it was all ready in one tiny shot but instead of being a whole jar of sauce which is often very artificial tasting, it was just the oil and spices you would normally use but already put together for you. The only thing I would say to improve was to have the flavour written on the actual shot as my toddler took off the outside cardboard so I then had no idea which shot was which!

This evening I tried Flavour Shots Chicken Fried Rice. Because I was serving fish, I varied the recipe slightly and used Sanitarium Rashers instead of the chicken as indicated in the recipe. It was extremely flavoursome, though perhaps a little too salty for my taste. It was a great recipe for leftover rice, and the inclusion of protein into the dish makes it a meal in itself.

Loved it, easy to use, great taste and something different. We would have it again.

These McCormick Flavour Shots are such handy little spice packs to have on hand ! Tonight I made "Pad Thai Noodle Pancakes" - which was so easy - the flavor shots do all of the work ! Everyone in our family loved them & gobbled them up - they were definitely a hit ! I would recommend these to people who lead a busy lifestyle - they make cooking easy & very tasty !

I forgot to add the photo to my review...here it is...I found the Pad Thai flavor shot to be my favorite - it sis very versatile - you don't have to use it for "pad thai" only ! Great is thai style soups & curries as well ! It also works well as a marinade for Chicken before chargrilling on the BBQ - you can then use in burgers or cool down & use for a thai chicken salad !

We loved our McCormick Pad Thai the flavour was just right nice and delicate. We added prawns and some chicken to the mix which made it look like we had bought it from the takeaway. Loved it so much no left overs here.

I have tried the chicken curry and the Chillie Con Carne and my husband has never been happier!! I have been complimented on flavor both times. These are dishes I have made before but without the flavor shots and I have never been given great feedback. I love the balance of flavours and the fact that they are family friendly ie when the product says chilli or curry the kids are happy to eat it and it isn't too hot or spicy for them. A great trial and I will definitely purchase in the future

Received my samples today and won't have a chance to make a meal from them prior to the need to post the first review. So here are my first impressions of the product I received in the post: the range of flavors is exciting with a good mix of interesting meals, though I would have liked to see either a meat-less recipe flavorshot or failing that a meatless ingredient alternative suggested in the recipe (eg: rather than chicken/beef substitute x number grams tofu or mushrooms etc). We are not a vegetarian family but are always looking for a few meatless meals a week. While the packaging is good and I like seeing the contents of the flavour shot through the container personally I would like to be able to check out the full recipe instructions prior to buying but they are written inside(i understand through lack of space). I think this would dissuade me from buying. Really excited to try my first sample over the weekend - the only problem is deciding which to try first.

My review package arrived today I was inspired to try so for a quick easy tea I made fried rice I used prawns instead of chicken WOW what beautiful flavours it was delish I am keen to cook more tomorrow :)

They convenient are stored in your pantry - no need to mix with water - just open the tub & pour into your creation - whether is be a curry , stir-fry of chilli con carne ! The McCormick Flavor shots make cooking flavorfull dishes a breeze ! this little flavor shots are full of concentrated flavor to make all of your dishes delicious ! I used to spend ages grinding up spices combinations in my mortar & pestle - now all I do is open up a McCormick Flavor Shot & add it my favorite stir-fry , curry dish or chilli - too easy ! well its amazing, taste great, everyone in the family love the taste all the flavor in them where yummy and they are very very handy to use, quick and easy. my kids dont like trying new things but i cook with this and they loved them so i think u all should go to the shop and buy them and there not dear either enjoy the taste

I've been slowly cooking my way through the McCormick Flavour Shots range based on all the MoM reviews. Tonight I tried the Chicken Fried Rice shot. I was really strapped for time & nearly rang for takeaway.I was impressed at how quick & easy it was to make & all I needed to do was throw it in the pan. My meal was cooked & on the table in less time than waiting for a takeaway meal.The flavour combination was nice & not over powering. My husband who really doesn't like spice thought it could've been spicy. I tend to agree, however I feel it was just right for the kids. It was generally liked by all. Will use this flavour shot again.

My husband went shopping last week and came home with one of the packs of Flavour Shots. The meal he created was lovely, he said it was easy to use too. I can't remember which flavour, I think it was the Spanish Chicken Hot Pot, but the chicken casserole he made was great. I love fried rice, so i asked him to buy a couple of packs next time he goes shopping. I have even written it down on his shopping list so he doesn't forget.

I've purchased five of the new Flavour Shots products, but have so far only tried the Spanish Chicken Hotpot, which was quick, easy & absolutely delicious! The coriander added an extra punch. Not too spicy, kids (aged 3 & 5) love it too!

I tried the Chilli Con Carne last night for dinner and would highly recommend it, considering it only had half a dozen ingredients and the flavour shot in it and took less than 1/2 an hour to make , it turn out to have amazing flavour that the whole family loved

Cooked the Pad Thai this time, strayed from the recipe and added chicken and some omlette, was great, can't wait to try the next one.

This was a huge hit especially with my son who likes a milder type of curry. It had just the right amount of flavour and blended with coconut milk made it smooth. I cooked it with a variety of stir fried vegetables, really tasty.

The flavour shots were so handy and well recieved here. Everyone loved them and though some had been made by someone else as no much rubbish to be seen. Will be using some of theses every week for quick meals.

Chilli Con Carne is a healthy ,filling, and tasty dish. Instead of the beef mince I used Quorn Vegetarian mince, and made the recipe on the pack.I never had any chopped tomatoes, so used tomato soup paste, and added coconut water. we all enjoyed it. Very happy they use Sunflower oil.

Well this is a success- I am not really a confident cook or diner for that matter- there is no master chef in this kitchen, had everything ready to go - very easy to follow directions loads of flavour in such a little packet hubby loved it just as per directions. I thought it was a little warm for my taste but was on the enjoyable side of more then mild for me might put pineapple in next time to make it milder for me or add more veggies and chicken

I tried Zesty Chicken, just the right amount of curry in the recipe for the whole family to enjoy

i recently bought some more of these because my local store just got some new flavours in besides the two that they stock lol. i love how easy and convenient this is to use and it does make busy nights seem a lot more organized because we just have an easy go-to choice of meals that aren't just takeaway. i think that these are worth a try and they really do have some flavour! try to stock up when you see them on special

I was pleasantly surprised by these. If your tired and don't want to make something forms cratch than this is what you are looking for. This can make you feel less guilty to feed your family with these flavour shots. They are reasonably priced but easily to follow and taste ok. Personally I like to make things from scratch however sometimes you are just too tired to cook but this would be better than McDonald's to feed your family to be perfectly honest. Recommend only on occasions I wouldn't make it a daily thing in my house hold

i am still impressed with these products, i am trying them in loads of differing ways, I even tried the chilli con carne one as variety in my slow cooker with beef cheeks. My husband loved it and wants more!

I didn't get to review this product but after the many positive comments bought some myself and wanted to say it's just as easy and tasty as the comments suggest. I get the depth of flavour without the length of time it usually takes me to flavour up a meal, just adding meat & vegies and it provides a great meal that tastes like you've spent a lot of time constructing.

Really enjoy using these they are flavoursome easy and convenient . Will stocking up when they come on special.

Decided to try something different for tea one night and bought the chilli con carne flavour shot. I was worried children wouldnt eat it but we all loved it. Def going to try the other flavours now. Would reccommend to everyone

WOW these Flavour Shots just keep getting better and better. I tried the Spanish Chicken Hotpot this time, it took minimal preparation time and the end result was to die for, definitely the best one of them all for me, The whole family had more and it had the nicest flavours. Please do your self a big favour and go out and try this as I can promise I will be getting more. The whole range is just great

I tried the Chicken fried rice Flavour shot, I made a basic fried rice and added fresh chicken and prawns as well as the flavour shot. WOW it was a real winner in this house . Believe me there were no left overs. It was quick and easy to prepare and even the kids enjoyed it . We will definitely be buying this product again and I would highly recommend it to every one

Had lots of flavour, not hot at all so good for the kids ( it does recommend adding some dry chilli flakes if you like it hot). I love that it uses kidney beans as well as mince to add some goodness. Would buy this one to have again.

The chicken fried rice flavour shot was fantastic. It add the extra flavour to my fried rice which my whole family loved. I would definitely use this flavour shot in the future.

I have just tried the Spanish chicken shot and have got to say..."it was a real hit in this house" Quick and easy to prepare and the whole family enjoyed it. Fantastic flavour but sadly there were no leftovers for me to have for lunch today so next time I will be making twice as much, Absolutely great and I would recommend it everyone

I didn’t get select for this review however I brought the Chicken fried rice flavour shot as my little girl love fried rice. We cooked it over the weekend and loved it. The fried rice came out tastier and fresher than the takeaway fried rice from the restaurants! Will definitely buy more….

I tried the Chilli Con Carne first with Nachos. The flavour was great and very tasty than what I usually make. Fried off onions, garlic and parley as usual and then added minced lamb and pork mince added the mix and cooked it in, Added cheese and Nachos chips and dinner was ready.

We're fans of Chilli Con Carne and I admit that I don't make it as often as I'd like, because there's so much involved if you're making it properly, so that it has a good flavour. I wasn't sure how this Flavour Shot would turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very easy to use, and it gave a really good and full flavour to the meal. I'll definitely be trying the other varieties of Flavour Shots.

We have just used the chicken fried rice. It was very yummy. We used cauliflower instead of rice and also added bacon and prawns with the chicken. I also added another egg omelet. In my 6year old sons words 'it was 10,000 % good!'

We tried the spanish chicken hotpot, which was full of flavour, although not our favourite, but still quite enjoyable. It makes me look very much forward to the other ones. We chose to serve it with sour cream and wrap them in wraps, and this was enough to feed two adult (a man who always eat lots) and a four-year old and two-year old, with enough left for hubbys lunch next day. My recommendation with this one is to have everything ready cut before you start, as it all happened rather quickly, and turning away to cutting was not a good idea. It feels less manufactured than other recipe bases, and although this flavour was not our favourite, I am sure the other ones are, and we are looking forward to trying and reviewing them as well.

My Family just loves the fried rice flavour infusion paste for the fried rice they really enjoyed eating it. Its so easy to use just cook your rice add the paste and half a cup of frozen veggies and stir fry quickly for added taste add a couple of sliced up omlettes and yummo.

The Pad Thai one was nice but I found that there wasn't enough liquid in my pan after I added noodles and it got soaked up! Id probably use two next time:) Would definitely recommend this to my friends and I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours that I have yet to find.

I usually make my own Chilli Con Carne, adding all the seasoning, spices and flavours individually. I also add extra vegies to the mixture, and I admit that I do like my Chilli to have a bit of "bite". I decided to use the McCormick Chilli Con Carne Flavour Shot as the flavouring, instead of putting all my bits & pieces in. While it was easy to use, and had a really nice flavour, I did end up adding extra chilli to the recipe, and a few of my usual spices, as that's the flavour I'm used to and enjoy. But I would definitely recommend the product, especially to someone who likes a basic Chilli Con Carne that isn't too hot.

Omg what's not to like about McCormick Flavour Shots. These little shots are so full of flavour you won't be disappointed. They make cooking your favourite dishes quick and easy. It is too hard to pick a favourite I loved them all :) they will definitely be on my shopping list :) :) :)

I love these flavour shots as I don't feel restricted at all by what I can create with them. I used tofu with stir fried veggies, it smelled wonderful. The flavour shots are a brilliant idea, quick & convenient. I can't wait to keep experimenting with the other varieties. Really happy with being able to product test this excellent concept.

The recipes were relatively easy to follow (I am no chef). The Fried Chicken Rice was a big number one hit with my family. The Spanish Chicken Hotpot was tasty (I have to confess I have not eaten Spanish food before and had no idea what to expect) I got 2 Zesty Chicken Curry (they were yummy) and didn't receive a Pad Thai at all. I don't mind. I am very grateful for what I received. I am just letting you know in case somebody lets you know that she/he got none. I didn't add the capsicum as I am highly allergic to it and the kids refuse to eat if even if given it by people we visit. Mostly they eat whatever they are given when out.

It was the first time I have used the flavour shots and decided to give the Chilli Con Carne a go. I loved the presentation of the shot and the easy to follow instructions inside. A great idea was the alternative ingredients that could be used to make the meal a little different. Well after little fuss and about 30 minutes my family were sitting down to a lovely meal that tasted great and believe it or not looked exactly like the picture on the shot wrapper, I would definitely use the Chilli Con Carne again and highly recommend it to those of you that have not yet had the pleasure of trying it

I tried the pad thai flavour shot. The instructions were easy to follow even with a 2 year old hanging on my leg. I was amazed how much flavour was in the dish from such a small shot.

this was a cool ideas of "flavour shots" i like the way it looks and it also gave my food a really nice flavour which wasn't too strong considering it's a concentrated amount. i hope my supermarket gets a bigger variety of these to try

Used the Fried Rice Flavour shot and strayed from the recipe slightly, using my standard fried rice recipe. WOW! It really lifted it to another level. Beautiful flavour and the kids loved it! 2 thumbs up!

I did my own variation of this meal, serving the rice plain instead of flavoured. I cooked the chicken pieces with the flavour shots contents, spring onions and a small red chilli. I then cooked some cabbage, carrot, broccolli, cauliflower, onion, mushrooms and spinach leaves with some ginger and garlic before combining the chicken. The chicken (which had the flavour shot packet on it) was absolutely delicious! Very effective and easy to use with great results.

Tried the Chicken Fried Rice its amazing, great flavour base and the kids loved it. Never used this kind of product before but was pleasantly surprised easy to use and very yummy. Cant wait to try the rest my family will think I've turned into a gourmet cook.

I made chilli con carne for dinner tonight there is a photo of the meal wandering around this page somewhere.Over all taste was nice, not too spicey just a little pick on the taste buds. I did mine with steamed rice and instead of using kidney beans i used butter beans. It was a little oily, spice tendered to stay at the bottom of the shot glass.

The zesty chicken curry McCormick Flavour Shot I tried was pretty good. I tweaked it slightly by adding 500 gram of pumpkin with 500 gram of chicken. It tasted fresh and was fairly easy to use. Hubby thought I had made the meal from scratch and the kids ate it all up. I'd say it was a winner.

This dish was a quick and simple meal to make for my family, as I started cooking it the smells where Devine. It only took around 15 minutes to make from start to finish. My Dh loved the flavour of the fried rice, he thought it was better than any other recipe base, I on the other hand found it to be slightly too spicy for me and my children. Would definitely try again with a different combination or vegetables, and maybe only half the flavour shot.

Last night we had Pad Thai, wow it packed a great flavour punch, everyone loved it. I did add more veggies than it suggested but I always do. Hubby was impressed said he didnt think such great flavour could come out of such a little packet. Will be buying this one again for sure. I used the Zesty Chicken Curry and made the recipe on the label, and served with jasmine rice. I had to add an extra cup of Chicken stock&Coconut milk mised together, as it needed more liquid. My husband added extra Chillie sauce. We all enjoyed it.

I had some left over rice and chicken so I cut up some carrot and made the stir fry rice with the flavour shot. It was quick and easy to do and looking at the recipe in the inside of the packet I used more flavour to food ratio they had. It was spicy which I was not expecting. It was very nice and everyone ate it but I prefer my own homemade stir fry rice but nice for something different.

the chicken fried rice was a huge hit in our house. a little daunting to start with but once i realised it was so easy ir makes me want to get out of comfort zone to try more things. could change around a few of the things needed to add to suit the household tastes...was great all round.

We didn't use as much cooked rice as the recipe specified, probably about half, and added chicken and vegetables. Everyone enjoyed it although I think I might add less soy sauce next time. All in all, a quick and easy tasty meal.

I tried this as i love it. Great flavour and a great meal in a quarter of the time it would normally take to make this meal. Great for a quick dinner after working all day. I would recommend it to my friends.

So I never eat curries but made the zesty chicken foe hubby for lunch and thought id give it a go and it was yummmm! I also very much enjoyed the rice and pad thai. So easy when it has abeen a busy day with the kids.

Loved, loved, loved it... We had the Chicken fried rice. It added a flavor that enriched the taste of the meal - a little zing to remove the bland. My whole family (yes kids and all) ate it and Mum had some the next day - she loved it! I would definitely recommend for the time poor who want tasty alternatives to everyday meals.

Actually substituted the Chicken to Fish (cod) for a Change as the kids were going chicken crazy but followed the recipe provided. My family like spicy food to added some chillies from out the garden (recipe also says to do this if you want) and wow what a kick this meal had.. was surprised something so small could have that much flavour! Must be prepared to have all the ingredients at home. Was short of a few so had to do a quick dash to the shops. Yummy meal for four in 30 minutes.

Did not actually apply to try these McCormicks flavour shots as I am gluten sensitive and thought they would be not used by me but whilst doing my shop I actually picked up a pack and read the ingredients, as we were having a BBQ at the weekend and seeing how this particular shot was ok for me to consume, I popped it in the trolley. Oh my I was impressed, I mixed the ingredients with other ingredients to make a sticky sauce for our ribs ...absolutely delicious.

I tried Mccormick Flavour Shots flavour of Chicken Fried Rice and it is the nicest fried rice that I have made. It's so convenient to just add the little pot to the rice to create a delicious, spicy fried rice that the whole family enjoyed. They are great to store in the pantry to use when you are short on time and make cooking a breeze!

I didn't really think these flavour shots would be that good. I was wrong. I used the chilli con carne one the other night and it was yum. The only thing I had to add was salt and the food obviously. I really hope McCormicks bring out more variety !!

One oft fav dishes but not hubby's and even he loved it. Great full flavour - nothing to add flavour wise and easy to feed whole family. Will be adding "shots" to the grocery list and cannot wait to try more. Struggle to put flavoursome meals that are easy on the table some days with 3 kids under 4- so this is such a good solution for us :)

I tried the Zesty Chicken Curry Flavour Shot tonight. Reading the label, I noticed that it actually doesn't contain any animal products, so it is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. I chose tofu as the protein in our meal. This Flavour Shot coloured the tofu beautifully, and the tofu easily absorbed the flavour. Served on fluffy rice, we enjoyed a colourful, nutritious, and healthy meal that was easily cooked in the 20 minutes advertised on the packaging. This is a great product to use on those nights that we all have when we just don't really feel like cooking.

I purchased a couple different ones but rather than add the chilli con carne to when I was making that I tried it differently. Added it to my spaghetti bologneise for some extra zing to our adults portions and wow, loved it! Hubby thought I must've added a dozen or so herbs to get that flavoring but was it awe when I told him about the little shot. It's different, unique yet practical love it so much it's become a staple in the pantry.

I was wandering through the supermarket, tired and looking for an easy meal when I saw these. I purchased the Spanish Chicken Hotpot. Putting it together was simple as was cooking it, just put it in the oven and walk away. The dish was very flavourful and the kids loved it. I found the flavour shots easy to use for that midweek slump where you just want something quick and easy, I cook most of my meals from scratch as I have gird and found the fried rice shot a good addition which didn't set me off I would definently use this again

The Pad Thai recipe base was, once again, very easy to use. Usually I save "fancy" meals like this for weekends, when I have more time to prepare. Using this base, I was able to quickly and easily put together an interesting and different meal for midweek. I had to buy the bean shoots, but I had all of the other ingredients on hand, so it was nice and easy. I added some crushed peanuts on top, once it was cooked, to give it more of an authentic Thai feel. The kids loved it!

Last night tried the Spanish Chicken Hotpot. A little like Paella. Quick to prepare. Everything needed was either in the fridge or pantry. The one pan dish made a quick wash up after the meal. My husband really enjoyed it. Would definitely cook again. Would make double quantity to share with friends for a lazy weekend lunch.

Such an easy and quick meal! Whipped the chicken rice up for us for lunch and my toddler loved it. Excited to try the next one. Thank you!

Tonight I cooked with the Spanish Chicken Hotpot Flavour Shot. It is important to note that this Flavour Shot does not contain chicken or any other meat. It is suitable for vegetarians, however it contains milk and is therefore not suitable for vegans. We don't eat chicken, so I used 500g tiger prawns in the recipe. It was just as easy to use as all of the other Flavour Shots, and once all the ingredients were in the pan I could walk away and do something else for the 1/2 hour or so that I let it simmer. It was a very tasty meal.

Loved the Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice - just made things so much easier.

I loved the taste of this shot it was really yummy the only downfall with is was that it says to place 5 cups of rice in a saucepan and cook! Now 5 cups makes allot of rice so you can imagine my disappointment when i was standing there with (in the end) 2 pots of rice cooking which took forever and the chicken ended up sitting on the bench done while waiting for it to be ready. Its meant to be a serving of 4 people maybe just change the recipe to allow only 4 people's worth of rice not an army :) it tasted great and very yummy thou.

Loved the pad thai, so easy for the mid week meal and so quick with 2 under 2.

Overall a delicious dish, however, I would like a little more sauce as I found it a little dry. It was given the thumbs up by all the family. I added some crushed peanuts to give it a little extra crunch. I would buy this product for convienence and flavour.

As a vegetarian i was hesitant to try these shots, but bravely i did try anyway. Of all the flavours i didnt know what to choose so i ended up going for the conservative "Pad Thai is an unbelievably fragrant blend of spices that also makes fantastic salads" I added lettuce, carrot, avocady, capsicum, olives and a lot of other fresh veggies and then a few teaspoons of the Pad Thai and came out with somthing really special. My husband and baby daughter who is almost two years old enjoyed it very much. Pad Thai is now somthing we will try to use at least fortmightly to add some spice and thai in our meals.

Purchased and tried the chicken fried rice tonight as I just felt like fried rice but could not be bothered visiting the chinese shop... I will NEVER purchase from the Chinese shop again - this product made it so quick and easy to make my own at home and the taste - OMG YUM!

I made the pad thai as per the recipe on the packet and found it to be a bit dry - not like in restaurants at all. I have made pad thai before with other recipe bases and enjoyed it more as there has been more sauce to it allowing me to also add additional veggies. Not sure what I could add to increase liquid? Eg if it was an Italian meal I could whack in a tin of tomatoes. Having said all that I did like the flavor. I think if i used it again it would be as a marinade perhaps for prawns.

ok well i didnt get selected by the mom team to try this but i did go out and buy the zesty lemon shot and used it to make a chicken curry which i posted in the dinner section on the moms recipes page. i was really happy with it but i did spice it up a little by adding chilli to it as i like a bit of a kick in my flavour lol. its very easy to use a great thing to keep in the cupboard for when you get home and need to chuck a quick meal together so i recommend picking some up and giving them a go :)

Great shot of flavour- had to buy several other ingredients that you don't usually have lying around. Added extra vegetables as we try and eat as healthy as we can and used wholegrain pasta. The kids said it wasn't quite as good as nana's though.

A friend of mine has recently had surgery and I wanted to bring her a meal so she didn't have to cook. I decided to make the McCormick Chilli Con Carne, just as is, no alterations. As I was cooking it, my husband called out to ask what was for lunch, and was very disappointed when he realised that the aroma wafting from the kitchen was not from a meal he was to eat! The chilli con carne was so easy to make, and I didn't make any alterations to the instructions / ingredients set out on the packet. It took maybe 30 minutes to cook, but most of that time was just it simmering in the pot, so it would be a great and easy midweek meal to cook after a day at work. After dropping the pot over at my friend's house, I got a call that night to say how lovely the meal was- the whole family had enjoyed it. I didn't tell my friend beforehand that it was from a "packaged" meal, and when I told her afterwards she was amazed that the flavour had just come from a small container. This was a hit and I will make it again - my husband is desperate to try it himself now!

I tried the Fried Rice and was pleasantly surprised with the flavour. Mildly spiced, my 4yo daughter didn't complain about the heat and asked for seconds! I did use the spice to marinate the chicken before cooking, and added some fresh coriander leaves for that additional oomph to the flavour. Overall we had a good meal out of this.

I've used these a few times now, I like the convenience of them and compared to other sauces and bases they have a good strong flavour, I'll buy them again.

After a busy day today, I planned on something as quick and simple as possible for dinner. When these Flavour Shots arrived today, I decided to try one of them instead, and I'm glad I did! I made the Chicken Fried Rice, and had everything I needed in the cupboards, although I changed the vegies it suggested adding (I used carrot, celery, peas, corn). Usually when I make fried rice, it's quite bland and I have to keep adding more soy sauce. Not with this! The Flavour Shot had a full flavour, with a little kick too, and was a really interesting change. Next time I might try using prawns, or adding bacon and mushrooms as well.

I normally prepare meals from scratch. I rarely buy prepared sauces etc as I have been spoilt by having the opportunity to travel and experience original foods and flavours. Most prepackaged products do not come close. When I read about these I purchased a couple of them to try and save a bit of time and to see if the flavours were as good as buying fresh ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised to how close to the original and fresh the flavours were (especially the Pad Thai).

absolutely love these but have a fussy 8 yr old that isnt quite as keen but the 19mth old loves them....

Was excited to try this one, and to be honest I was quite disappointed in the end result, as it didn't taste curry-ish at all, just like a creamy lemony sauce and not much else. However, as per usual it was quick and simple to prepare and has potential to be more flavoursome with the addition of a few things, so will try it again as a base.

My son picked the Zesty Chicken Curry to try first. It made a good amount and we had some for leftovers. We enjoyed it and thought it was a quick, easy meal to prepare on days when I'm working. Looking forward to trying another flavour sometime soon. Thanks for the opportunity of trying this product.

We tried the Chicken fried rice. The instructions were easy to follow and all 4 kids enjoyed eating it.

I cooked up the Chicken Fried Rice last night after a request for fried rice from one of the kids. Fried Rice is not usually something I cook at home - it's usually a side dish to a take out treat. But with adding chicken it quickly becomes a full meal. I didn't follow the recipe exactly on the pack and cooked my vegies first - after tasting was a little worried that it was too spicy for my kids. By the time I added the chicken and rice it was fine though. Fried rice is usually best cooked with rice from the day before but this still works if you cook the rice first and spread it out in a large tray to cool. Use frozen vegies as a short cut. Amount of egg is left to personal preference in the recipe - I used 4 eggs in the omelette and that was heaps. Overall it's a recipe base/starter with a lot of flavour packed into a handy little packet - just make sure you shake it well and don't let the cardboard cover come loose or you won't know what flavour it is. Will be keeping one in the cupboard for a tasty meal alternative to getting Chinese take away!

The prep time is the longest part of this meal so if you were on a short time frame you could use frozen veg and have it ready in no time. I used some different veg than recipe recommended but still tasted great. We did find it a little spicy for the children though (but not the adults) and it would be nice if shot was designed to feed 6 instead of 4. Great, easy, well flavoured meal.

I wasn't accepted for this review, but I bought the Spanish chicken hotpot one and YUM! Easy to use and very very tasty. I couldn't tell you if it was tastier than doing the meal from scratch as I have never cooked it before. But this was definitely easy for midweek dinner.

These are a great concept to have on hand in the kitchen for when you're stuck for a meal idea or need to get tea on the table quickly. The Pad Thai shot is delicious having a good balance of flavors. However we did find the Chili con carne shot lacking in flavor. We've purchased the Pad Thai shot numerous times and always have on on hand for when we are looking for an easy option for tea.

It was a good change from the normal food I eat my husband was happy with all flavours
