I just continue to love using this Microwave and just have to share the results with this community. Our old microwave was so hard to clean and just never seemed to heat evenly. We are so happy to have a microwave oven that cleans easily and smells good and heats evenly. Happy with results every single time. I give the LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave Oven five stars!

Such a time saver!

by

I simply love the sensor function. As a busy mum to a super busy toddler time in the kitchen needs to be minimal. Especially when getting dinner going. So that's where my love of the sensor function comes in. I don't have to think how long it'll take to cook frozen veggies, or reheat plates. Or even defrost meat. I just tell the microwave what I've put in it and it works it out for me. And then it lets me know when it's ready. Perfect!

Some more great microwave uses! LG NeoChef is not just good for food guys, it can do all kind of wonderful things, like make brown sugar usable again once it is rock hard, warm up towels, get more juice from citrus fruit... The list goes on! Take a look at this site and see what you can learn. For me it was a revelation. The pics are funny too as they are a bit old school and home done... Here is one of the pics, and here is the link too: http://www.viralnova.com/what-microwaves-can-do/ Does anyone have any more tips to share?

LG NeoChef Bacon...

by
5 out of 5

Yes it can be done, and it tastes good - bacon can be cooked in the microwave. Not only is the taste good, but it is ready so quickly and there is no pan to wash up afterwards. Page 16 of the manual shows how to do it... Basically take four rashers of bacon, place them on paper towel on a microwave safe dish, cover with more paper towel. Chose the sensor cook menu and boom, bacon in a hear beat! Note, pic is not of mine, as I forgot LOL

Eggs in the microwave!

by
5 out of 5

I have mastered scrambled eggs in the NeoChef - here is the basics: Crack a couple of eggs into a bowl, scramble with a fork, and microwave in 30-second increments until cooked through, stirring at each interval. Alakazam, scrambled eggs! Throw in some chopped veggies and serve with a slice of toast for a complete, filling meal. Remember the size of your eggs and the heat you cook on will affect the cooking time, so it is important to do the 30 second intervals, and remember the eggs will continue to cook when removed from microwave, so stop when they are slightly under. Reheating vegetables and chicken Casserole in minutes!

by
5 out of 5

I cooked a vegetable and chicken Casserole the other night and decided we would pull it out have have it for dinner as a quick and healthy dinner choice. I was a little worried about the sizes and portions of the chicken mixed in with all the different vegetable but to my surprise found that the microwave reheated them quite well. I used the manual function rather than reheat just so I could compare the two and was pleasantly surprised by the difference. It only took a couple of minutes and had dinner ready in a jiffy the cooling automatically happens in the microwave which gave me piece of mind whilst I was tending to baby and getting dinner on the tablet all in all a great microwave that seems pretty reliable with a brand I can trust!

We made a chocolate self saucing pudding in our LG NeoChef! Oh my gosh, not only was it delicious but it was ready in no time at all! I cannot stand when the cake gets dry in the microwave but the LG kept it light and fluffy and perfectly cooked! And even though my four year old managed to spill some when he put the bowl in I was able to clean it so easily! I can't express how much I love the NeoChef!

Delicious Nacho's with LG NeoChef

by
5 out of 5

I made this Nacho topping to go onto of my corn chips its so good and all the ingredients are filling. Using the LG NeoChef Smart Interter Microwave oven, what you will need is can of black beans, half red capsicum, can of diced tomato's, 1 big chilli, cumin powder 1 tsp, 1 cup of corn, 1 tbs of Paprika, salt and pepper ( you can also add your favorite veggies) optional for a kid friendly meal I made this for my partner and I because kids don't like spicy this is a spicy dish. You can add mince (optional) place all ingredients into a bowl mix together and place into a high dish microwave safe and microwave on reheat setting for 13 mins and stirring halfway at 6 mins. top nacho's with the Delicious topping with cheese and on reheat setting for 3 mins - checking - spoon on sour cream or greek yogurt with avocado mix through and enjoy. Yumo!

Effortless and Simple

The LG NeoChef Smart Inventor Microwave tick all my boxes and more, all its features really stood out to me, I loved the quality of the design, its very modern and easy with reminders when cooking is finished. After long use the microwave signals with a cooling feature that's cool it down which is amazing I know as its not going to over heat on me. I cooked up some brownies using the microwave, I used leftover chocolate from christmas and it was so delicious, moist and crunchy around the edges, top alone or with icecream - yum give them a try - you'll need 5 pieces of toblerone (melted) 80gms butter, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1 1/4 cup caster sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 3/4 cup of all purpose flour. 1 - melt toblerone on melting setting, remove from microwave, melt butter, remove from microwave, add both to a bowl and mix the cocoa powder, caster sugar, eggs, vanilla extract together with blender until all smooth add the flour and mix - spoon batter to a microwave dish and place in microwave for 15 mins or until cooked.

Easy to clean

by
5 out of 5

After continuous use and making a few messes I'm so happy to report how easy it is to clean! Even after using it as an oven. Cleaning my old microwave always felt like a chore but not with the NeoChef! Any mess just wipes away easily without having to microwave a lemon or use harsh cleaning products. Aside from the cleaning it didn't take long for hubby or the kids to learn how to use the different functions. I thought it might be a bit overwhelming but the basic cooking and re heating functions are easy for them to follow. They can use it better than the old microwave they were used to!

Easy peasy 'cake smash' cake

by
5 out of 5

I made this cake in my Neochef Smart Inverter microwave oven and topped with sweetened whipped cream. I received several complements and most people were shocked when I told them I baked it in my new Neochef microwave. "It's so light/fluffy/moist", "it's really quite delicious". Ingredients: 100ml sunflower oil, plus extra for pan 175g caster sugar 140g plain flour 3 tsp baking powder 2 large egg 1 tsp vanilla essence Method: Grease a 22cm microwaveable cake pan with a little oil and place a circle of baking parchment in the bottom. Mix sugar, flour and baking powder in a bowl. In a jug, whisk the oil, eggs, vanilla and 100ml hot water until combined. Add liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until you have a lump-free batter. Pour mixture into the cake pan and gently tap to pop any air bubbles. Cover with cling film. Microwave on 70% power (as recommended in the manual) for 7 minutes. The bright lighting within the microwave is so luminous that you can enjoy watching your cake double in size if you so desire. (I did☺️). Allow cake to stand for 5 mins, then remove cling film and turn out onto a cooling rack. I WILL be using this recipe and my Neochef Smart Inverter microwave to make my girls birthday cakes in a few weeks time!

Clean up is a breeze with 1 simple wipe out the job is done! The only thing im yet to trial is the yogurt proofing but at the moment that inst a mahor need or wamt for e. The food that I reheat with the reheat function comes out evenly heated and no soggy bits. We have tried to test Neo to the limits but it just will not dissapoint. My mother in law actually brought one as she was already looking and after listeni ng to me ramble on she has purchased one also, she made a delicious banana loaf and noone could tell it was a microwavable dessert!! Experience required for accurate power calculations

by
5 out of 5

I decided to cook lemon delicious for dessert. The recipe stated to cook for 8 minutes on full power. Knowing that the Neochef Smart Inverter microwave has a high 1200w of power and cakes are recommended to be cooked at 70% power, I hoped that those 2 changes would balance each other and cook the dessert to perfection, but additional time was required to cook it completely. It just goes to show that even though you can control so many variables that experience and human input help maximize automated processes.

Reheat Dinner plate function

by
5 out of 5

I tried the dinner plate function today, it was quick and easy, I found the instructions easy to follow and my dinner plate cooked so quickly! I liked that the oven cooled itself down so there wasn't any smell. I am keen to test out the difference between sensor cook and reheat option. The microwave is starting to get smarter and smarter the more I use it! I still can't believe I reheated my dinner plate so quickly, my potatoes were warmed evenly all the way through and the meat was warmed all the way through which n9rmaply doesn't happen.

1/3 cup of water Tablespoon of vinegar 1egg Pop the water and vinegar in a microwave safe bowl then crack the egg into it. You can pop the yolk with a toothpick gently as it can sometimes build up to much pressure and pop. Then pop in the microwave for 40 seconds. Once cooked, remove from bowl with a slotted spoon to allow water to drop away then serve. Enjoy

Easy Cheesy nacho goodness

by
5 out of 5

Out and about with my little man today and needed to bring something home for lunch for hubby and I. Little dude decided to loose his cool just as I got to the grocery store. Of course! So racking my brain for something quick easy and relatively healthy to have for lunch I stumbled across the tortilla chips. Perfect! Nachos it was A few minutes later, a few more ingredients later we were at the checkouts and on our way home. Hubby and I were both impressed that after a minute of assembling the chips, beans, salsa and of course the cheese, it only took 1 minute on full power to have perfectly melted cheese without sending the tortillas soggy and not making the beans and salsa scolding hot! Delicious and will definitely keep this as a go-to for quick meals! I took a before pic, but was so keen to eat I forgot to take an after. Although I can tell you it looked as good as it tasted!!

I would like to firstly thank LG and MoM for the opportunity to trial this amazing new NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave Oven. I have already reviewed the functions and overall amazing experience I have had using this amazing appliance so I'm not going to go over it again. Instead I would like this review to focus on some main points. This LG microwave really deliveres on its main functions and out performers any other microwave I've ever used. It superior in its heating, defrosting, cooking and functionality. It is stylish, sleek, ultra modern and looks really amazing in my kitchen. It's easy to clean and it's touch screen functions make it very tech savvy. I would definetly be recommending this microwave to my family and friends and I have already been complimented on how good it looks in my kitchen. I'm very greatful and thanks once again for this amazing trial.

Heats up baby food perfectly

by
5 out of 5

This morning I was worried that even the lowest setting might be too much for heating up mashed potatoes for my son, but the microwave heated it up PERFECTLY! SO soft and still fluffy all the way through, made it so quick and easy to do and the clean up was minimal! Tonight I am defrosting some frozen meals and can't wait to try it again! I still can't believe how slick the design of the microwave is, it really suits any space it sits in, and there is smart diagnostic settings on it as well to send to customer service if need be. A great product that I highly recommend to anyone.

Perfect cooking through modifiable power setting

by
5 out of 5

I love cooking chicken in the microwave. I cooked a whole chicken a few weeks ago in my old microwave oven and the meat was a little overcooked so I was a little concerned about overcooking it again this time simply because the LG Neochef microwave oven sports a higher wattage. However the modifiable power settings enabled controlled heating and the chicken was cooked to perfection....moist on the outside and cooked all the way through.

Defrosting Made Easy

by
5 out of 5

We rely on our microwave alot for defrosting meat, and meals that we have stored frozen in the deep freeze. We all know how difficult it can be to defrost meat evenly in the microwave without partially cooking some parts and leaving others frozen. My LG Neochef has made defrosting meat easy. You select defrost, select the type of meat, and the weight, and it does the rest for you! Chiming intermittently to remind you to turn it over or give it a bit of a stir. We love it!

No smell!

Cooked some fish in the microwave today and there was literally no smel lingering afterwards! I can't believe how easy it is to use, and the design that it has with the handle means that my little one can't actually open it as easily which makes it safer. I defrosted some frozen sausage rolls and they literally look just like the way I cooked them! So amazing. And I think the sensor cook setting was pretty good, my previous microwave used to reheat with hot spots and I would worry that my food would burn with the sensor cook setting but this microwave has been great!

Hard Ice Cream - NeoChef Will Fix It...

by

One of the biggest hassles my children have is the ice cream bends the spoons it is that hard LOL. Thanks to LG NeoChef that is no longer an issue. It has the wonderful ability to 'nuke' the ice cream to a perfect texture and does not make it turn to liquid like my old one. The easy to press buttons, and great lighting make it a breeze!

Keeping Warm With LG Smart Inverter Microwave Oven

by
5 out of 5

I have to say, I love the keep warm function, it is so easy to use! I occasionally have to keep a meal warm and, in the past have had so much trouble trying to keep one warm, I mean, how do you keep a meal warm? Normally I would have to reheat in my old microwave, which would just result in coking the food more and drying it out, making it inedible, my only other option was to use the oven to keep it warm, while this worked. I would often end up with the same result of dried out food and a super hot plate, with the help of LG and the magic it has now put into my Smart Inverter Microwave Oven, I am able to just select the keep warm option and the microwave takes care of the rest, life is just that little bit easier and food is edible now, thanks LG!

Useful, Fast, Quick and Powerful.

by
5 out of 5

The LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave is amazing its quick and easy to create recipes in a hurry I made this recipe of mine in the microwave and it turned out great. There are many recipes you can use in this microwave and its actually very simple and less time than using the oven. My oven is quiet low so I found the microwave very handy as its much higher to access. I can't wait to find more recipes to cook in my new LG NeoChef. Potato Bake you'll need a dish with lid that is microwave safe, up to 5 big brushed potatoes, 1 cup of cream, 5 slices of bacon, packet of Maggi flavoring creamy cheese and garlic potato bake with 1 1/4 milk - you may like add a few herbs if you like (its optional) grease glass container, slice potato's with a knife, layer but starting on first layer dice the bacon and add with a small amount of cream and repeat until you reach the top of the container add your milk and your flavoring with 1 1/4 of milk pouring over. Place in microwave for up to 1 hour or 30 mins if pre boiled your potatoes. Enjoy top with cheese and use the melt setting for 5 mins. Enjoy with meat and salad!

Defrosting Made Easy and Quick!

One great feature of the LG Smart Inverter Microwave Oven is the defrosting feature, it defrosts with ease, evenly and without cooking the meat! My old microwave used to cook the meat and only partially defrost it, LG has found the magic needed to make defrosting in a microwave easy. I like that you can set the defrost option and then during defrosting the microwave chimes to let you know to check the meat and move what has been defrosted, no guessing required!

My LG Smart Inverter Microwave Oven has made cooking o much easier and quicker, I love to cook, but often forget to take things such as butter an meat out of the freezer in time for it to defrost or soften. With recent Christmas cooking, I again for got the butter and when needed only had hard solid butter, but with the help of LG and my Smart Inverter Microwave Oven, I had beautifully softened butte in no time at all, the best thing, it was softened, not melted, just how I needed it to be. I was even able to soften the cream cheese I had also forgotten in the rush of Christmas, it softened it without ruining it, allowing me to whip up my yummy dip in time for the first of many guests to arrive. Thanks LG!

Even the kids were excited to give it a whirl. I love the sleek look and it fits perfectly into the under bench space in our kitchen. Just switching it on was enough to put a smile on my dial as it played its little tune haha! I don't think I've ever been so excited to receive a new kitchen gadget! First impressions are sleek, large interior for heating larger dishes, no annoying beeping, love the little tune it plays!

Best microwave I've ever seen!!

by
5 out of 5

I was so excited when the box arrived! It was so big but surprisingly light and as I unpacked it it had so many more accessories than I've ever seen included with a microwave. The recipe book includes looked great but I wanted to try out some of the functions so with the manual in hand I got started with rice. Despite eating rice several times a week for most of my 34 years I had only ever been able to cook it in the rice cooker - the NeoChef made cooking rice perfectly so easy! Perfect microwave rice! Everything I've cooked has been easy! Crispy bacon, grilled Teriyaki chicken, Teriyaki salmon - all perfect, juicy and crispy! And reheating is a breeze - the 30 second quick start option is usually all that's needed! It would fit perfectly in a cabinet-in cabinet but it works perfectly fine sitting on my bench! I can now get rid of several kitchen appliances thanks to this little beauty and I look forward to trying lots more different recipes in it whIle keeping my kitchen cool over this long summer!

Sensor Cook...it's some kind of microwave magic!!

After a crazy hectic day on Boxing Day we completely lost track of time & within a blink of an eye I had two VERY hungry kids & a husband sniffing around the kitchen. A handful of pasta into the LG NeoChef, sensor cook pasta setting & by the time I'd whipped up a couple of eggs & chopped some left over Christmas ham I had perfectly cooked pasta. Carbonara is served. How did the microwave know? How was my pasta so perfectly cooked without setting times & amounts? My family & I have put it down to microwave magic...we may never know ????

I absolutely love my LG Smart Inverter Microwave Oven, I did the water test as recommended when you first turn it on, and I as amazed at how hot the water was in just 30 seconds, in my old microwave it would normally take me 90 seconds to get the same result. I love how when you turn the power on it chimes a little tune, and also when it has finished it's cycle, it chimes again to let you know. I love how sleek it looks and how well it fits into my kitchen, operating it is a breeze, and it is so quiet, unlike my old one, it was so noisy, I couldn't hear anything. I am looking forward to experimenting more with my LG Smart Inverter Microwave Oven.

I am obsessed with the fact that the main control panel is inside the door - preventing the kids from playing games. It defrosts and cooks so thoroughly and evenly. I never thought I'd feel this much love toward an appliance - maybe I should get that checked out, until then I'll live blissfully with my LG! ❤️

Wowzas...... This is honestly the first time i have ever had a microwave cooked Lasagne without burnt crispy edges and still be cooked to perfection all the way through. Not to mention scrambled eggs to perfection. No little grey spots where the eggs been overcooked in spots . Sorry hubby but ive fallen in love with this beauty . The chime went off at end of cooking and i got sidetracked. Loved the fact it reminded i had something awesome awaiting me still. Defrost well lets discuss that. In the LG its bloody brilliant. So simple its MAN ageable lol..... Yes hubby worked out how to defeost his drumsticks without the istruction manual or advice from me. He was duely impressed with the fact it didt have cook spots like the old gal as he put it. Loving the Mug cakes that were perfectly done also. Kids were desperate for these to be done in the new microwave and they say they are the best yet. All cooked threw thouroughky but not over done. No gluggy uncooked parts no hit and miss on the time of cooking process Thankyou MoMs and LG for the oppurtunity to test this baby out. Its awesome.

My Microwave arrived yesterday and oh boy was I excited! I couldn't believe how light it was compared to my old microwave! I promptly installed it and was delighted to hear that the old "beeeeeeep" noise that our microwave used to make on completion has been replaced with a little musical ditty! We have only used it so far to reheat meals but even for that it's fast and effective. The design fits well in our kitchen and can't wait to test it out on a few other things this week!

It has arrived! Super excited to get to know my Smart Inverter Microwave Oven. It is incredibly light, I was able to lift the box into my kitchen, a blessing as my old one was incredibly weighty. I am yet to cook in it, other than to heat up food, pop some microwave popcorn and melt copha and butter for some brownies and cherry ripe slice for a Chrissy party tomorrow. It was quicker at doing all tasks than my old microwave. It is sleek and super easy to use so far. Stay tuned for some yummy recipes over the coming weeks. I look forward to sharing some tasty tips with you :)

Hubby was craving nachos so I popped the chips on the plate with the cheese on top and popped it on. 50 seconds later and all the cheese is melted and when we tried it all the chips were still crunchy, not gone soft like my old microwave. It's cause it cooks evenly so I don't have to keep cooking it till the cheese melts all the way through and the cheese that melted early makes the chips soggy. My hubby was so impressed. We will definitely be doing it again. We are loving this microwave more and more as the days pass.

EEEK - its arrived & I'm excited!

by
5 out of 5

I've just taken delivery of my LG Neochef Inverter microwave! and to say I was excited to see the delivery guy would be an understatement! My old microwave which was over 10 years old and also an LG has been very reliable but has been making a funny buzzing noise of late so the chance to review a brand new microwave couldn't have come at a better time! Unpacking it from the box was the trickiest part, but was met with lots of 'ohs' from the kids as we stood and admired the shiny new microwave. Its is lighter than the old microwave too which made it easy to slot into my microwave spot. I have read over the instructions and put it to the test heating up some water as a test! I was impressed by how quietly I could open and close the door - which is bound to be great when I heat up baby bottles through the night and the chime to let me know it was done was a pleasant change too. The microwave is a great size inside and smooth making it easy to wipe down! The only thing I can fault so far is the fact that time can only be selected in 10second increments - I usually heat babies bottle for 23 seconds so will have to watch the microwave to stop it before its finished so as not to overheat the milk!

We have installed our brand spanking new LG NeoChef microwave into our kitchen this week - and by installed, I mean the almost criminally simple process of unboxing and popping into place. It fits into our home seamlessly. Not only does it look sleek and modern, it looks easy to use! My techno husband was beyond impressed with the lack of external buttons, and I am equally impressed with how simple it is going to be to keep clean. We have welcomed the addition of it's friendly chime, which is long enough to make sure you hear it but gentle enough to not wake the baby! I have already enjoyed it's even reheating function, no surprise burnt mouth for me when in a hurry! The idea of a "soften" feature for butter and ice cream and a "melt" feature for chocolate is driving me head first into the Christmas baking season!

Our LG NeoChef 42L microwave just arrived and it is beautiful. It's matte black all around, with a black glass front and internal led light. It's so much bigger than my last microwave and we are now trying to decide what to have for dinner that we can use our new microwave to cook. My husbands garlic potatos?? Mmmm

Cooking adjustments made easy

by
4.95 out of 5

I'm loving the sliding function to adjust the cooking time. I've recently done a lot of baking and needed to melt or soften butter for my cakes and cookies. Whilst I've used the melt/soften functions I've found that in some occasions the original time set wasn't enough. A simple swipe towards the + and the timer increases the cooking time without me having to stop and restart the program. We've also done the same swipe to reduce the time when we could see that the original time was going to be too long. Very handy and hubby was very impressed to learn of this function last week!

I've been using the LG NeoChef Microwave Oven for a few months now and it has made my life so much easier. I am able to steam / heat up / roast and defrost so quick and easily now without turning on my extremely large oven for a small amount of food. It's particularly made my life easy for all the meals i prepare for my son which only require a small amount as well. Would highly recommend this product to anyone.

OMG WOW Melted chocolate so easy. Loved it. Done to perfection not over done. And popcorn well not a singke burnt peice for the first time in my life. Baked spuds were a dream to whip up and left the kids asking for more..... This priveledge of being able to trial this microwave has certainly been a great experience. And an eye opener to how great LG are in microwave technology. The only downside or negative i have found during the entire product reveiw has been the lack of timer on the appliance. Which i heavily relied on when baking. But apart feom that this has been a brilliant addition to our household.

Perfect choc chip muffins

by
4.95 out of 5

With the current heatwave I have not wanted to put the oven on. My son had a friend coming over so I decided to try muffins in the microwave. The recipe called for melted butter so first of all I was able to use the melt function. I loved that it melted the butter evenly and didn't get it too hot, so you didn't have hot butter popping in your face and I could then add it to whisked eggs without cooking the eggs. I cooked 5 muffins at a time and they only took 2mins at 80% power. The muffins were cooked evenly the whole way through and were moist. My son said they tasted like brownies, moist and chocolaty. I will definitely use the neo chef again for baking muffins. It made it so quick and easy and a great final product too.

I couldn't help but post a second video of the end product of my frozen chicken defrosting and cooking in the microwave oven using the smart Inverter technology. My chicken was literally taken straight from the freezer and put straight into the microwave and I was amazed at the end result. The chicken was heated evenly right through and we were able to enjoy our meal within minutes. I liked that the defrost setting was easy to navigate. I have posted part 2 of the video here also.

So its been almost a month since I received my 'christmas present' from Mouth of Mums & LG and Ive been wowed from the beginning!! It has amazed me from the beginning.. Firstly appearance; The microwave is a sleek modern design, It looks like its quite bigger then most microwaves but i can not fault the appearance in anyway. Secondly- Setup and the instructions; When i plugged it in i thought id be working it out for months to come but within minutes it was all worked out!! There is nothing confusing about the instructions or the use of this microwave.. its very simple and everything is clearly understandably. Lastly- Using the microwave; Easy, Easy, Easy!!! Im just wowed with how simple it is to use.. ive melted chocalate and the sensor functions is able to correctly stop when fish which is incredible, the sensor in the microwave takes away the guess work.. no more trying to work out how long to cook stuff for, it stops when cooked! One of my first items to cook was assorted veggies, I put them in and left it up to 'Neo' to tell me when they were ready and gosh.. . They were PERFECT!! over christmas my Neo got a real work out and its safe to say ive tested it to the max. I wven had a family go and purchase one because they were so impressed!! Thanks M.o.Ms & LG!! I LOVE MY NEO!!

Saving my backside at Christmas

by
4.95 out of 5

As always I had planned way too many things in too little a time to prepare and cook. Also considering the size of the oven in my kitchen, once you take out trays to fit the obligatory festive bird/s there is nowhere to cook the sides. But.....this time there was. I had hassleback potatoes, roast beets, parsnips and squash to roast and the LG NeoChef did it all. I was surprised by how it was exactly like I had a second oven, because, I did! And even better I could put on a mode that cooked like my old oven but quicker! Saving the day by allowing me the flexibility to cook at a fast rate with the same crunchy finish. Loving my oven!

I would firstly like to start off by saying a huge thank you to Mouths of Mums and LG for the opportunity to trial the new Smart Inverter Microwave Oven. I was like a little child on Christmas day when I received the delivery. I couldn't wait to open up the box and once i did, the amazing microwave inside didn't disappoint. My first impressions are very positive and hubby and I were very excited to have it in our kitchen and set it up. From the sleek eye-catching design and gorgeous jet black exterior this LG NeoChef 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven looks to be truly in a league of its own compared to others on the market. It is very simple to set up and I can't wait to get started. We have checked its heating ability and its fantastic. I love the touch panel and the modern technology it has. I am going to post continues reviews over the next few weeks reviewing the key features it has to offer and really assess its ability. Once again a huge thanks.

4.95 out of 5

To say I was a little excited when the delivery guy turned up is an understatement! I couldn't wait to unwrap and plug in my LG NeoChef 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven, I have been suffering with an aweful, old microwave that had no light and would only heat things (to a crisp) on one side. When I ttok the microwave out of the box I was super impressed by it's sleek and modern design, as was my husband, being an architect and all. The hidden control panel is brilliant and the ditching of the traditional push button to open the door is fantastic! This means the opening and closing of the microwave is quieter. This feature is always welcome in a household with a new baby! The general set up of the machine is simple and easy to follow, it almost feels as though there should be more to do in order to use it for the first time. This is also great, no fussing around. As you can see from my photo, I do love to cook and I can't wait to test the softening function to soften butter for my baking. Any bakers out there will understand what I mean when the recipe calls for softened butter, other microwaves would simply melt the butter! Watch this space as I continue to test the LG NeoChef 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven!

Smart, Simple & Elegant - LG NeoChef Microwave

by
4.95 out of 5

LG NeoChef Smart Inverter 42L arrived on my doorstep this afternoon, and boy was i excited to try it out! With the sleek black design, and hidden functions, it's modern and practical for everyday mum's (or mum-to-be in my case!). The manual is professionally layed-out, easy to read and follow, and includes quick start up guide. When the microwave door is open, it reveals all the functions (and a brilliant light!) which all are practical, (as i know in the past some functions you just will never use!) but with this machine, really easy accessibility to defrost (love the "Keep Warm" function!!) , adjusting the weight and time of the cooking process, or with this model #MS429 42L Sensor Cook mode can be selected for automatic functions that have been previously programmed. (another helpful hand for busy mums!!). Safety features are also important to mention with the option of turning on "Child Lock" to ensure no little hands can turn on the microwave or injury themselves. (peace of mind for Mum's!) The NeoChef also has a quirky yet fun chime that sounds when the microwave is finished completing its task, shows that it has some "personality" which is a nice touch.

I'm still loving the ease of using this amazingly smart microwave. I no longer have to think that extra step of "how long do I need to cook this for again?" I simply pop it on sensor mode and it works it out for me. Complete with a little song to let me know that the cooking time is almost done - along with the final chime at the end of cooking. And let's not forget to praise the reminder chime - because let's face it - meal prep with an 18 month old is never a smooth easy task

I am still crushing on my LG NeoChef microwave, it is sleek, black and not only a trendy looking appliance, but also works insanely well. If I didn't have a microwave shelf in my pantry, it would be on show, on my bench tops! The buttons are easy to press, and although I have read the instruction manual that came with it, the functions are there inside the door for easy reference, and the microwave is super easy to use, so you do not have to refer to the book - other than for recipes.

Steaming and Re-Heating!

by
4.9 out of 5

To some, it may be just a baby potato or broccoli or honey carrots, but when you are able to steam veggies without nukeing them beyond recognition, the LG NeoChef is amazing at steaming veggies. There are no hot spots, meaning half the broccoli is burnt to crisp at one end and raw at the other. This also applies to reheating, it heats evenly so that your whole plate is warm and not piping hot on the edges and freezing cold in the middle!

We've had guests over and they have gushed about how fancy it looks, how big it is inside & how lovely it sounds. A few have even had to open, close & press a few buttons themselves! I have my daughter's 5th birthday coming up next weekend so the next trial will be melting chocolate which I'm sure it will hit out of the park!

I'm not huge on cooking in my microwave but that's until I started using my new neo chef microwave. I made the cake in the mug and the kids loved it and I made jacket potatoes and they were delicious. It was so easy to do and I'm starting to look for more adventurous meals to make using it. The only only thing I would be mindful of is the power strength of this microwave and any old recipes and making sure you adjust it accordingly.

First impressions - "So far... Life's Good!!"

by
4.9 out of 5

On Monday were so excited to get the new microwave after a missed and enexpected delivery on the previous Thursday! Hubby and I were eagerly watching for the courier all day like little kids waiting up for Santa! Lol We set it all up and as it was after 5pm we thought we'd test it out with a quick bite to eat. After having a tooth extraction a few days earlier I wasn't up to eating much still so, much to hubby's disgust, we put a few frozen meat pies in. He's never liked pies in the microwave. So we've always cooked them in the over which takes lots of planning for dinner and a good 30m once they go it! (Not always easy with a 15mth old toddler in the house!) So anyway, I was laughing at him so much when we found that there was and actual setting for the SENSOR cooking option specifically for meat pies!! Turns out he's the weird one for not using the microwave to cook meat pies... To cut a long story short, we were eating our pies after less than 10 minutes and were pretty impressed with the lovely end-of-cooking chimes we heard!! (Our previous 18L microwave was an analogue and just ticked down the time with a short 'ding' at the end. Definitely no catchy tune - or reminder time for hat matter!) Needless to say, we were both impressed. Me for the quickness of our meal from freezer to plate and the evenness of the cooking of both meat pies, and hubby was pretty impressed that his pie - in his words "wasn't a nuclear waste land filled with molten lava minced filling!" ???? So all in all, first impressions are great! Loving the look of it in our kitchen and loving all the functions on the microwave and looking forward to all the creations we will be able to whip up!

What we all mostly use a Microwave for.

by
4.9 out of 5

Generally speaking, we all use our microwaves to re-heat food, whether it be leftovers or when someone arrives late for dinner. Can I just say that the re-heat function on the LG NeoChef 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven is genius! It is so simple to use and so straight forward. Thankfully, LG have listed what number you need to heat specific foods such as pizza and rice, inside the door. Meaning you don't have to remember what number you need. You literally hit "reheat" and the plus button to the number you want, decide how many grams its worth, close the door and press start. There are no hot spots, cold spots or burnt crisp edges. It reheats evenly and might I add, the chime for when its done is simply music to your ears (or maybe stomach).

A couple of weeks into using this microwave and Im still in love!! It never boils over, things dont splatter, they heat quicker (and more evenly)- I dont know how I survived without it! So far my absolute favorite feature it the time dial- not only is it super easy to add time, but you can take time off!! With my old microwave, if I pressed instant cook too many times it Id need to stop, clear and re-input my desired time. With this LG model I don’t even need to pause cooking! I just spin the dial and voila : ) The only con at all with this unit is that we find the cooling fan a little loud after the cooking has finished. In saying that, the pros far outweigh that little niggle. Highly recommend

Great "Soften" and "Melt" Feature

by
4.85 out of 5

'tis the season for baking, and my LG Neochef has been the perfect sidekick! It's been much to hot to leave the butter on the bench to make sure it is soft enough to bake when I finally get around to it, so the soften feature has been a godsend! It has worked perfectly, softening the butter with perfection each time I need it, without melting to the point of no return! The Melt function has come in super handy when making truffles and chocolate mousse, as it has allowed me to melt my chocolate to a creamy mess without burning it which we all know can be done all to easily!

Reheat/inverter defrost/melt and soften capabilities

by
4.85 out of 5

So guys I've had the privilege to use my new LG microwave for the past week and couldn't be happier.Besides the sleek, modern and stylish design it does a great job with reheating food and defrosting frozen meats. I would always struggle with getting evenly heated meals with my previous microwave but never have to face that problem again. It takes literally half the time to reheat food and there are no cold bits in the center or under the top layer. The defrosting ability is excellent too. Im not usually keen in defrosting frozen meats in the microwave and with four little ones, i usually preplan dinners and take out the frozen meat or chicken the night before but for the purpose of this review I gave it ago. I placed about 500grms of frozen mince in the microwave on a plate and followed the inverter defrost instructions provided in owners manual and by selecting the weight and the category of food i was defrosting it was done. It beeped once whereby I turned over the meat and then closed the door and then it was done. I love the soften and melt functions as they have come in so handy for my baking over Christmas. Once you get the hang of it and it took me a couple of goes and referring back to manual, the capabilities available on the LG microwave are fantastic. Over the next few days ill be trialing out some recipes and will post about how they turned out.

Putting it through its paces!

by
4.85 out of 5

So far I've owned my new microwave for 6 days - in that time it has heated baby bottles 5 or 6 times a day and has done so well. Initially I was concerned by the inability to type in cooking time and being able to only cook in 10second increments but given that this microwave at 1200W is more powerful than my previous one it has completed the task in less time! I am loving that the door is quiet to open and shut making it perfect for middle of the night use! Hubby has made use of the sensor reheat function to reheat his dinner when getting home from work and this was very effective. He did get impatient and pull hi plate out with 1 minute remaining on the clock but it was well and truly heated. I sat waiting for some feedback and asked if it worked well, to which he replied 'its hot!' I asked if there were any hot spots and he said 'no its hot everywhere!' so I take that as a positive review! I've always cooked my pasta on the stove top, but given that the microwave has a sensor pasta cook feature I thought I'd test it out! For a family of 4 I popped my spaghetti into a casserole dish, added water and selected sensor cook. I was surprised that it said it would take 22minutes, however I walked away and went about other things and when it chimed that it was done, I was presented with evenly cooked pasta with no overflow or fuss! Winning!

Loving my LG NeoChef

by

What a wondeful and beautiful design. Our LG NeoChef arrived last week and our whole family was excited to test it out. I will admit that we have only done some basic cooking in the LG NeoChef so far. My favourite is the delightful and soft sounds. Usually when a microwave is finished it makes a harsh beeping sound. The LG NeoChef makes a joyful sound that isn't harsh on your ears. I absolutely love that it will have reminder sounds if the door hasn't been opened once finished. With my 12 yr old he often heats something and forgets, not anymore with the LG NeoChef. So far the LG NeoChef has impressed me.

I just made jacket potatoes in the LG Neochef and it didn't disappoint! It was so easy to use, with just a piece of paper towel underneath the potatoes and a quick press of the "jacket potato" button, they were off cooking. The potatoes were soft and fluffy inside just as they should be and I didn't have to guess how long to have them in for as the LG's sensor function does all the hard work for me. Such a quick, easy side dish that only takes minutes to prepare and cook. I'll definitely be making these again, yum!

The jury is in, so what's the verdict?

by
4.8 out of 5

I love it! The LG Neo Chef is so easy and enjoyable to use. I think it has a very modern approach to the concept of microwave heating. It's sleek and attractive and will look great in any kitchen, the only downside is that it really needs to be at bench height and not in an elevated microwave hutch, which unfortunately is how my old school kitchen is designed. The door of the microwave hinging at bottom and pulling out towards you like a standard oven door can make things a little awkward in a space like mine, but this is one of my only criticisms. I love the extra features it has, however I think it could be improved on a little if they found a way to increase the capacity of the air-frying feature. I found the air-frying feature to work quite well, however, it is not a large enough capacity to prepare a dinner for a family of 4, but could perhaps be used to prepare a side dish or enough food for a couple. The slow cooker works well and would be a great feature to use for busy mums or dads as you could put it on before you left for work and it would simply stop cooking when it's finished, unlike a conventional slow cooker that will continue to cook until you turn it off. The only thing I noticed is that I thought the meat wasn't quite as tender as when I have slow cooked meals in my conventional cooker, however, perhaps it may have just needed 8 hours instead of 6. The steamer works great and seems to have enough space to prepare veggies for a family of four. Lastly, I love the convection feature because it actually has a grill inside, you can see it heat up above your food so you know that it is going to crisp and brown whatever you are cooking quite nicely. I cooked a lasagna in mine and it worked quite well with the cheese melting nicely and getting a nice golden brown look to it. Overall I would say that the Neo Chef is a great addition to any kitchen. It's a powerful microwave with a decent amount of internal space so that you can fit a medium sized oven tray inside- a lot of others on the market are simply too small for this.

Musical melodies make dinners easy

by
4.8 out of 5

I cooked meatloaf in my Neochef microwave for the minimum suggested time to account for the powerful 1200w. The result was moist, evenly cooked meatloaf cooked in a fraction of the time it would take in a conventional oven. The best part was the reminder chime that rings every minute after cooking has finished because I used it to time the meatloaf resting phase and to coordinate when to take it out and pop in the vegies. I dished it all up for a fuss-free, quick, homemade tasty dinner.

Christmas baking bliss

by
4.8 out of 5

My second review lined up perfectly with Christmas week baking! Having two large families to cater for and a sweet tooth in general, my recipes called for lots of butter for the shortbreads & ginger breads and lots of melted white chocolate for my mini pudding balls that have become a standing order/request/expectation! at all Christmas events now... Anyway, I was doubling the mixture of each of the batches of cookies and needed to melt 400g of butter for the shortbreads alone! My old microwave would have struggled, and I would have been stop/starting every 20 seconds to stir it and make sure it actually melted. The NeoChef however made my life soooo much easier. Having two settings for butter - soften or melt - made sure I was getting the right consistency for my recipes, and being able to enter the weight provided a perfect result. The microwave knew what it had to do and it delivered!! Was great being able to watch through the easy to see-thru door and the internal light was very helpful! I'm loving the pre-set programs and adjustable functions. Makes life so much easier. Happy mummy = happy family (I hope!!)

Love my Neo Chef

by
4.8 out of 5

Last night I made satay sausages in my microwave in 15 minutes a task that would normally take 30minutes on the stove and they came out just a yummy if not better! They were enjoyed by the whole family! I am loving putting my microwave to the test the only thing I have found which I don't think is that I can only increase time by 10 second increments so if something takes 35 seconds I have to put it on for 40 and watch it! A little time consuming having to watch the microwave so as to not over heat things however that is the only fault I can find!

First Impressions & Athetic Review

by
4.8 out of 5

First impressions last & upon opening my LG NeoChef it definately left an impression. The all black exterior works beautifully in my kitchen which is a nice change to my previous unsightly microwaves. The glass marks easily with fingerprints but also cleans with ease so not a major con. The control buttons are concealed inside the door which adds to the exteriors clean appearance but can get some getting used to. All in all a very good looking appliance which would suit many styles of kitchen.

It was very simple to install and I cannot wait to give the cooking functions a whirl once I have read through the manual which is a little weird to read.

Proofing function

by
4.75 out of 5

I tried the yoghurt recipe from the recipe section of the manual. After reading over the recipe I thought it was very easy to make and was looking forward to trying it. The steps were all easy to follow and I left the yoghurt to proof in the microwave. This takes 5 hours. I didn't plan the timing so well as I was still proofing the yoghurt when I needed to make didn't, which involved using the microwave to defrost chicken. So you really need to make the yoghurt when you don't need to use the microwave for the 5 hours the yoghurt needs to proof. After the yoghurt was finished in the microwave I put it in the fridge to chill overnight. I was very excited to see if the yoghurt had worked. But it was not a nice consistency at all. It looked like the yogurt had split and the thicker part was very lumpy, like cottage cheese. It smelt like yogurt and tasted like yoghurt but sadly it just went in the bin. I will try it again with a different yoghurt base. Even though the yoghurt didn't work, I like the idea of the yoghurt proofing function. I am going to try up use it to proof dough, and see if it works for that.

Soften function

by
4.75 out of 5

I am loving having the soften function on the LG NeoChef microwave. With lots of baking being done for 2 birthdays and Christmas over the last couple of weeks I have used this function almost everyday. I have been very impressed with this function as it has soften butter and cream cheese evenly. In my old microwave I would have to guess at which defrost function to use and would end of with fully melted parts and some still hard parts of the butter or cream cheese. I am impressed with the NeoChef that it has taken the guess work out of the softening process and it softens evenly.

Such a clever machine

by
4.75 out of 5

A couple of weeks into using this microwave and Im still in love!! It never boils over, things dont splatter, they heat quicker (and more evenly)- I dont know how I survived without it! So far my absolute favorite feature it the time dial- not only is it super easy to add time, but you can take time off!! With my old microwave, if I pressed instant cook too many times it Id need to stop, clear and re-input my desired time. With this LG model I don't even need to pause cooking! I just spin the dial and voila : ) The only con at all with this unit is that we find the cooling fan a little loud after the cooking has finished. In saying that, the pros far outweigh that little niggle. Highly recommend

First impressions

by
4.75 out of 5

So my LG NeoChef microwave has arrived and I would like to share my initial thoughts. Firstly, it is a very sleek looking mircrowave and looks great in my kitchen. I love the touch buttons and that the dial pushes in when you don't need to use it. Although, it gets fingerprints on it easily and the front door is needing cleaning more often. After a read of the manual there are many features that I can't wait to use. Being a bit of a baker I am impressed that it has a soften and melt option for butter, cream cheese and chocolate. I am looking forward to trying the yoghurt function and some of the recipes in the book. I am also liking the fact that it has the Antibacterial Easyclean surface, the musical chime instead of beeps when finished cooking is a nice touch and I like that the instructions of different modes is hidden behind the front door for ease of use. I am super excited to start using it and will post my next review once o have used more functions.

Melting chocolate was a breeze!

by
4.75 out of 5

Now I've ruined plenty of chocolate over the years by trying to melt in the microwave but I decided to give it a crack in the new Neochef Smart Inverter and it worked perfectly! Christmas Eve I risked ruining my contribution to Christmas Day dessert by melting my chocolate for chocolate mousse in this microwave. I was nervous as there was no backup plan with shops already closed for the night if things went wrong. I should've had more faith! It melted the chocolate evenly and perfectly and Christmas dessert was aced! Although the kids weren't as impressed with my dessert. I think they're just impressed it can make a mean 2 minute noodles!

Super happy with its even heat distribution!

by
4.75 out of 5

I am really happy with the heat distribution on this microwave. No more uneven heating or defrosting, yay! My old microwave I used to have to stop and stir constantly so I didn't end up with molten lava patches in some spots while being still frozen in others. I have found the Neochef Smart Inverter to distribute heat wonderfully. Also when defrosting I haven't ended up with cooked patches around the outside. Very happy so far!

This is my 2nd review of this product. I am still enjoying using this very much. This product is so quiet you can hardly hear that it is on, Much different to my Old microwave! This week I have used the roast & bake function to make my Christmas cookies! It worked great, the same as the oven! Although I was scared at first to use it for this! On Christmas Day, our double oven was full with turkey and pork so the microwave Come In handy for doing some of the roast potatoes!! It's great to have this product as it acts in so many ways then just a normal microwave which is what would have been there for a long time!

4.75 out of 5

Well the newest member of our family arrived today! It brought a lot of excitement to what was otherwise a hectic, stressful day. I am yet to get my Masterchef on and test her (yes her ... in my house, it's ladies who do the hard work in the kitchen) as yet, but we did sit down tonight and revise our meal plan to enable us to utilise this beauty asap! What I can tell you so far is aesthetically, this NeoChef is perfect! It will compliment the most modern of kitchens and add appeal to those that are more retro. The instructions are clear and concise which is a huge plus. The added bonus of the cookbook is fantastic and includes mouth-watering recipes that will take you from entree to dessert. I'm excited to get started!!

Stylish sleek design. Love the door design and ease use of touch buttons. Downside so far is it doesnt have a timer ???? for when im just baking in the normal oven like my old one did. And the clock wasnt so easy to set if not set as soon as it was plugged into power. But so far thats the only 2 downsides i have found. It works a treat defrosting without the harsh browning of meat my previous microwave would leave us with . Cant wait to continue using and leaving reveiws. ????

Love, love LOVE this appliance!

by
4.7 out of 5

I would like to thank Mouths of Mums for giving me the opportunity to review this device. I was sent a free LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Convection Oven in exchange for at least four reviews. This will be my third of the four published to both my own blog, as well as to the Mouths of Mums site. Please note that my rating for this product may change in each review as I get to know the device more, learn the tips and tricks and so on. For now, the rating is 4 out of 5. Hoooo Nelly! Remind me to never try and review something this awesome at one of the busiest times of the year! Christmas, New Year, my Eldest’s birthday, head colds, school holidays! Wow. I am a week behind on my reviews for The Beast and I do apologise now. I have been using it though and, yup, still loving that baby! So, what did I try and do with it for week three? Well, I proved some more bread and made monkey bread – though I didn’t bake the bread in it as I cooked it at my folks as part of a family get together. I will try that another day… soon! When it comes to proving dough, the LG NeoChef is AMAZING! Perfect every time! Even with my dodgy past its ‘best before’ date yeast works in it. When it comes to proving yeast dough it was always hit and miss for me, even with my Thermo mat (from Thermomix). As the weather here in the Adelaide hills can be temperamental at the best of times and, over the past twelve months, has often been referred to as bi-polar… and that’s not far off. We have boiling hot and dry days, followed by freezing cold dry days that build back up into hot, humid days, followed by rain for a week… Crazy weather! And for those who prove dough on a regular basis, you know how you need just the right level of heat and humidity to prove bread to its best. And, well, I’d given up trying to be honest as the weather just didn’t play fair. In steps The Beast with its Proving setting and ta da! My troubles are over, I can go back to making bread for my family daily and know I will get the perfect prove each time. I can then make giant focaccia, pizza pocket buns, savoury or sweet scrolls – it’s all on offer. Both wheat and wheat free as, well the LG NeoChef is just SO GOOD at proving! Better yet, if you then go on to bake the bread in the LG NeoChef – the whole house doesn’t heat up! Huge win! In the summer time, when we hit the high 35° C to mid-40° C we tend to eat a lot of cold meals… which, can be boring. But we do it as it’s just so hot and cooking things just heats the place up more. That is, until we started using the LG NeoChef! We have been baking, steaming, reheating, all sorts in The Beast and loving it as the house doesn’t heat up at all! Such a bonus at this time of the year. Now, I just mentioned steaming right? Want to know what I steamed? Scrambled eggs. Yup, I couldn’t find a recipe for it anywhere but followed the Steamer instructions in the manual for eggs and just changed it a little. I found a bowl that fit under the steam, made up my egg and cream corned mixture and away I went. I’m not going to say it came out perfect first time, as it didn’t. I had to cook it on the egg setting twice and stir well in between… but it still turned out really nice. A little over cooked – but not to the rubber yuck texture microwaved scrambled eggs usually get. They were nice… just need tweaking. The only other thing I will say about using the steamer function in this way was that I found it difficult to get the steamer lid off when it was hot, without knocking over the bowl of eggs. I couldn’t take the whole steamer tray out that easily either. However, I put these issues down more to where my LG NeoChef is, more than it being a fault with The Beast itself. Mine is located in the corner of a kitchen bench that is too low for me to easily use at the best of times… and so bending, around a corner, and trying to get things in and out is tough… but totally the fault of the user. ???? Another function I took for a whirl in The Beast is the sensor heating function and made jacket potatoes. Wow! Cooks so quickly, evenly and doesn’t dry it out and make it taste like a microwaved potato… which is weird, as it IS a microwaved potato… instead it just tastes like a baked potato and I am thrilled it was so easy as it’s one of the easiest ways to feed my family in a hurry. Our version of “home takeaway” is bake some potatoes, reheat some homemade bolognaise, and dinner is there. Now I can bake enough potatoes for all of us in under 20 minutes and have them taste like they were baked in my oven for an hour. Yum. So, as you can see – still loving the LG NeoChef. Would you recommend this product to others? Yes I would. But I would keep emphasising it isn’t “just a microwave” it is an… well, it’s an everything! It really does help you cook from scratch for a large family without taking away the nutrients or creativity. Easy to use, so many functions and amazing things – go buy one! ???? Would I buy this product for myself? If my LG NeoChef was to pack it in (touch wood it never does) then yes I would see myself seeking to replace it with the latest version. I don’t see it as owning a microwave anymore, I see it as owning an extremely useful tool that cooks, steams, proves, grills, bakes and reheats. Love, love, LOVE it! In summary: NOT a Kitchen Gadget! This truly is an amazing appliance those looking to cook more from scratch for large families should buy. So helpful, so versatile, so easy to use! Until next time, Janis.

Versatile, but needs bigger accessories for families

by
4.7 out of 5

We tried out the air fry function for one of our meals. We wanted to have fish and chips. The air fryer cooked the food reasonably well, however was too small to be able to fit enough food in it for the four of us (2 adults and 2 kids under 5). So far I've been impressed with the size of the microwave everywhere else and in and of itself it's still great but as an air fryer the accessory to be used for this function would better suit a single person or maybe a couple, but not a standard family. The same is true of the steamer as the same accessories are used for this as well. In my next review I'm going to sum everything up and give my overall opinion.

Even defrosting and cooking

by
4.7 out of 5

I was quite impressed with the even defrosting of the bacon slices that I pulled straight out of our freezer however I did find it a slight inconvenience to have to get out the scales to weigh how much the bacon weighed before I could set it to defrost, as I had previously separated the bacon into usable bundles of unknown weight. I found that the bacon was not entirely defrosted once I had entered in the rounded-down weight, but after I put it in for an extra bit of defrost time it was defrosted without the edges being cooked. Excellent. The bacon was then cooked in the LG Neochef microwave, without creating dry edges. Wondeful. Add in poached eggs = breakfast perfection!

The bright light assists me in keeping an eye on the cooking process too ... Sorry I forgot to take a photo or rather I was not quick enough with my camera , because they were eaten up to quickly ..

Terrific and Quick - I love it!

by
4.65 out of 5

My last microwave was on it way out and was very slow. The LG NeoChef Smart Inverter is wonderful its reasonably quiet and makes a longer sound when its finished not sure if that's necessary but I always hear it. Its easy and quick to reheat. I think its all great. I tried and tested a recipe with the microwave and was very happy with the results. My recipe is Chocolate Sticky Pudding. All it takes is only 12 minutes to make this quick delicious dessert and it was very easy. I used the melt setting to melt the butter. Here's the recipe - Enjoy + 60gms of butter + 1 1/2 cups of self raising flour +1 cup of sugar +1/4 cup of cocoa (used organic which was less bitter but you can use whatever you like) +3/4 cup of millk (full-cream used) +2 tps of vanilla Sauce I cup of brown sugar +1/3 cup of cocoa +1 1/2 cup of boiling water Place butter in microwave in a safe bowl on the melt setting on for half a minute. Stir in flour, sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spoon the batter into a greased glass container suitable for microwave. Put that aside and grab yourself another bowl such as pyrex measuring glass one add your extra cocoa, brown sugar and mix together. Sprinkle on top of the pudding mixture. Than cook for 12 minutes - I added ice cream to it and OMG it was amazing! its rich but yummy. This was efficient and come out great, had a great sticky chocolate sauce and alot went a long way - the microwave exceeded my expectations with this recipe and I would make this again as it was so good. Give it a try.

After a week of the whole household being sick, plus a busy day at work, the arrival of the brand new LG42L microwave oven was a godsend. I quickly cleared a space in the pantry so it could take pride of place, and then set about reading the instructions to work out a meal I could quickly prepare. For our 12-month old I used the inverter defrost setting to speedily heat up a casserole from my emergency freezer stash. I was impressed at how evenly the food was defrosted. Then for husband and I, it was reheating soup literally at the press of a button. So far I love the sleek look of the microwave, the touch buttons and am excited to try out all the features that have been designed for maximum convenience.

I love the LG Neochef Microwave

by
4.6 out of 5

I love so many features of the Neochef Microwave. Firstly, it looks so sleek and modern, I love how it looks in my kitchen. Unlike my previous microwave, it is SO easy to clean. I love how quiet it is. It doesnt make big noises presseing the buttons or loud bold beeping when finished so I dont have to be worried about using it while my twins sleep (which i had to be careful of with my last microwave). I LOVE the cooling feature after it has been used for a while. I have found that it cooks and reheats so much more evenly as well which is probably my fave thing of all. Compared to my previous microwave which always took longer to cook things, i found the LG NeoChef matched exactly to the cooking times on recipes and packets. timesaving for the win! So overall if a friend was looking for a new microwave, I would not hesitate to recommend this one.

Minor cons

by
4.55 out of 5

I am absolutely loving my Neochef Smart Inverter microwave! If I had to pick it to pieces I can really only come up with 2 petty cons on my list. 1- I wish it came in white. While I love the stainless steel with 2 small children and my microwave sitting below the bench it shows their grotty finger prints. 2- the majority of the feature buttons are only accessible with the door open. I just aren't used to that so I keep having to open the door to adjust heat settings etc. See pretty petty cons on my list huh! Overall I think it's a fantastic microwave and I've been highly recommending it to my family and friends!

A handy appliance!

by
4.5 out of 5

This microwave is the bees knees. So many functions that you really need to study the manual to make full use of it. (Makes me wonder how much I didn't know about my previous LG microwave!) I found I had to consult the manual before each use (except for reheating) just to make sure I had the settings right. With frequent use, you would learn all the functions easily. The microwave is BIG! It will not fit into a standard microwave cavity. It also needs clearance around it, so didn't fit on the shelf in my walk in pantry either. If you don't like appliances sitting on your bench top, this isn't for you. Otherwise the design is nice and sleek and matches a modern kitchen nicely. Cooking was simple with the machine - instructions clear. While cooking a roast chicken, I missed the beep to turn the chicken over as I was distracted. So keep in mind to pay attention if there's any need to pause cooking to stir or turn. Air frying had me intrigued. I did some wedges and it had a really good potato taste - wasn't disguised by oil. Not as crunchy as I'm used to, but delicious all the same. Overall this is a great appliance. If you're not using your oven to cook several dishes at once this is great. Also good as a backup if you're needing to cook at different temperatures.

Artificial Intelligence

4.5 out of 5

Oh wowsers. The sensor cook is amazing. I am now 100% sold. This should be the focus of marketing for this machine. I just used it to cook potatoes using the sensor function. As per the instructions I weighed the total amount first assuming you needed to put it in somewhere. A microwave can't possibly just know how long to cook for. Well this little baby does. I put the potatoes in and selected sensor program 7 then pushed all the buttons trying to figure out how to enter weight. Only button that did anything was ok which then reminded me to shut the door...so I did and away it went. No weight no amount no nothing. I went on cooking the rest of dinner puzzled, it can't possibly know how lon to cook for! At the ending chin I rushed over took out the potatoes and carved into one. Perfect cooked, soft and delicious alll the way through. I quickly cut through the rest. After all they weren't all the same size, at least one won't be cooked. Wrong again. Oh my now I can't wait to try the rest of the sensor cook now I know my microwave has amine of its own!

We have only just begun to trial the LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave Oven, but I can honestly say I have a great feeling about it and am looking forward to really putting it through its paces. Aesthetically it is really sleek. The black casing doesnt match my other appliances, but it looks really fancy nonetheless. The led light inside matched with the tinted door looks great whilst its cooking- you can still see inside perfectly well, but its also nicely subtle. I can read the countdown timer all the way across the room as the light lettering on the black screen really stands out and the size of the numbers is large. It feels really nice to use- the door is solid and has a nice weight to it despite it being very easy to open. It doesnt have that 'catch' that a lot of microwave doors do and is smooth both to open and close. The turntable is also very smooth, stable and solid. I love how bright the internal light is! We made rice tonight and one feature in particular amazed us- we could actually grab the cooking container straight out of the microwave! Normally we have to use teatowels or oven mitts. We thought that it mustnt have been on the right setting, but we were wrong- the rice was not only cooked properly, but it didnt even overflow! I cant remember the last time I didnt I didnt have to wipe the turnstable after cooking rice in a microwave. It has a muscial tone instead of a harsh beep which is in line with the rest of the sleek features. Im normally quite conservative in buying expensive appliances, but Im actually quite impressed and think that this unit would potentially be quite worth the pricetag. The next step would be to test that and start playing with some of its more advanced features, but for a dish that we have made countless times and have a lot of experience with, the difference between it and the 'normal' microwaves Im used to is quite dramatic. Far greater than I expected

It's HUGE

by
4.45 out of 5

I didn't buy my LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave Oven in-store so I was surprised at how big it is. If you have a small kitchen (like me) make sure you enough benchspace because the instructions say that it can't be built in. You must allow 8cm space all the way around. With plenty of room on the inside it is well suited to family-sized meals and it could replace having a built-in oven altogether because it is more than "just" a microwave. It is convection so you can grill and crisp meals too. It plays a very cute tune when the timer is up and it will play again if you forget to take something out of the microwave within an allotted time. I have found that on the Sensor function that my meals have been warmed perfectly all the way through without being too hot. It is perfect eating temperature.

Great appearance, excellent functions!

by
4.45 out of 5

I was so excited to receive this product to review!! My 1st impression was that it looked great and was very stylish!! It fitted into my microwave space but sticks out a tad further then my old one, I'm already used to it now and still looks great. I used the product immediately to reheat part of my dinner, just on standard function and it worked great. The noises it makes make it exciting to use! I have added a photo of the breakfast I made in the microwave (except the toast!) and I couldn't believe it was done in there!! I used the healthy fry mode on schnitzel for the bacon (on crispy plate), steam chef for the eggs & normal microwave for the spaghetti. The only issue I encountered was the bacon did not go very crispy or brown on the healthy fry mode, perhaps because it was on schnitzel & there was no bacon option. I switched to normal Microwave to make it more crispy. Overall, this product has a great appearance, excellent functions and so far I would not change anything.

My xmas present from Santa has arrived.

by
4.45 out of 5

First of all a big thank you to DHL for calling to discuss and deliver my wonderful gift from Santa. Opening the box revealed a sleek, stylish, classic looking oven that certainly makes the rest of my kitchen feel it needs to scrub up stat. Some muscle gymnastics, contortions and joy later I had managed to both plug in and place in the designated 'micro oven' position in my kitchen. YAY! from the kids were heard. Now we can sit back and admire its beauty. Wow. It sure is pretty. Then all to bed whilst mamma reads the manual to make this fella work for us this festive season. Thanks LG.

Overall a great appliance for busy parents

by
4.3 out of 5

I've now used the LG NeoChef Microwave Oven for 4 weeks. Overall it is an impressive looking oven, sleek and very smart. There is so much you can do with it from easily melting butter for cooking, steaming vegetables perfectly, defrosting, cooking simple meals like pasta dishes, and of course the regular reheating that we do almost every day. It is also super easy to clean however because of the technology, I haven't experienced the food explosions from food getting too hot as I did with my previous microwave. The only concern I have is that I constantly needed to have the manual on hand to use the various functions and don't feel that the microwave is particularly intuitive to use. For instance, when using the sensor cook function, you'd need to memorise the number of the food types when cooking or refer to the manual to make sure you were selecting the right button. Perhaps it is a little to smart! Overall it has been great to review this microwave and I look forward to using it many times in the future.

Slide Function

by
4.1 out of 5

After using the machine for a few weeks now I must say I still haven't gotten used to not being able to punch a time in. The slide timer function is ok but I wouldn't rave about it just yet. I keep going too far forward and then too far back, then too far forward....a little annoying and I end up just pressing the forward buttons. Hubby on the otherhand loves it. He's always been a bit quicker at grasping new technology compared to me (okay okay ALOT quicker). I did get to try the keep warm function today as well as an elderly friend of hunny popped in just as I was getting his dinner ready. The function is so simple to use just pop in microwave and hit keep warm...

My second review - still loving the LG NeoChef Smart Inverter!

by
4.05 out of 5

I would like to thank Mouths of Mums for giving me the opportunity to review this device. I was sent a free LG NeoChef Smart Inverter Convection Oven in exchange for at least four reviews. This will be my second of the four published to both my own blog, as well as to the Mouths of Mums site. Please note that my rating for this product may change in each review as I get to know the device more, learn the tips and tricks and so on. For now, the rating is 4 out of 5. Apologies for my second review being late, these things called Christmas and the New Year got in the road. ;-) So what have I been up to? Well, a few things actually and I am simply LOVING what my new ‘Beast’ (my pet name for my new kitchen baby) can do. Firstly I tried to make yoghurt and was originally rather disappointed. Proving yoghurt takes at least 8 hours and I usually make it overnight in my All in One device. But as the Smart Inverter AKA Beast said it could make it too, I gave it a go. As I don’t like leaving ovens and similar devices running all night alone – a quirk of mine no doubt – I made it during the day and so was not only inconvenienced by not having the Beast to use for other things, but the noise it made did get on my nerves rather quickly. I will say here and now that the noise level isn’t too loud, just persistent. Very similar to when using a dehydrator. And speaking of dehydrators… the Smart Invertor can be used to dehydrate too! And that’s where I went wrong with my yoghurt. After proving it for 8 hours I then put it in the fridge for 24 hours to cool – like I always do when making yoghurt. Annnd… after 24 hours it was still very runny and watery, but tasted like a yummy dairy free yoghurt all the same. A failure? I had thought so, until I went to prove some pizza dough in the Beast the following day and realised, when making the yoghurt, I’d had it on Slow Cook setting 2 – dehydrate! Not Slow Cook setting 3 – Prove! It will mean I have to spend another day making my dairy free yoghurt in the Smart Inverter, just to ensure it was my at fault, but I can honestly say I do find using my All in One easier for yoghurt making. I will say, however, that the runny and watery yoghurt tasted really nice and we simply couldn’t waste it. So put it, some over-ripe bananas, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries and tinned lychees into my Thermomix and blitzed up some gorgeously purple breakfast smoothies. Tasted amazing! No dairy, no gluten/wheat, no added sugar (just the fruit) and all gone in a matter of minutes! So I see that as a win win personally! Due to my hordes nagging me, I also bought some potato gems and cooked them in the Beast. I am not a fan of this sort of pre-made thing, but it was part of putting the Smart Inverter through its paces and so I did. I cooked them following the instructions in the manual (the cook book that comes with the Smart Inverter is near useless) and did it twice in one week. Both times came out perfectly cooked, evenly cooked and just as easy – maybe even easier – than doing it in the wall over. Also not as noisy or hit and miss in its cooking (or time consuming) as in my airfryer. Didn’t heat up the house and kids were super happy. I really must try it now with homemade chips and see if just as successful! The only other thing I’ve had a chance to try in my Smart Inverter was pizza. At first I just wanted to prove some yeasty dough and was then going to make it into an old style Lardy cake… but lunch time was approaching, I had a house full of hungry hordes and not much else on offer. So I checked my giant pizza dish fitted in the Beast (that’s a 13 inch diameter pizza pan) and it did! So I put the dough on it (gorgeously fluffy from its proving), smeared on extra virgin olive oil, herbs and some salami and mozzarella cheese. Put it in on the pizza cooking setting and left it do its thing. Yes the dough used was probably two thirds more than the recipe that comes with the Smart Inverter, but it cooked through, puffing up more like a giant focaccia than a pizza. But it was cooked all the way through, cooked evenly and my kids, hubby and visiting family members loved it and want me to it again – often! So another win to the Smart Inverter. Other than these minor experiments, I have been trying to find if there is a way to cook popcorn in the Smart Inverter using the Crisp Tray and Steam dome… I even asked Mouths of Mums via Facebook message but couldn’t find the recipe anywhere and got no reply (but it was Christmas and the New Year after all). So that is the downside I have to the Smart Inverter… I don’t feel that confident just yet to experiment with it like I do other devices as I am terribly worried about breaking it – I love my beast too much! Though I have gained some confidence after both the yoghurt and pizza so can see myself just going for it one of these days. It can’t be any worse that popcorn in an airfryer, right? And that is still a laugh! For now I can honestly say I am LOVING the Smart Inverter and have hardly used any of my other cooking devices since then. Making pizza in it didn’t heat up the whole house like my wall oven would have – a huge bonus when summer gets so hot – and it reheats food faster and more evenly than my old microwave… which is now looking for a new home as the Beast is here to stay! :-) Would I recommend this device to others? Yes I would, I have already been making friends and family jealous when listing all the things it can do and all the things I have made – and plan on making with it. I do feel, thanks to the lack of recipes and support that come with the Smart Inverter that it is better suited to someone who has had a similar device before. This is not a Beast for a new cook or someone who needs their handheld throughout the cooking process. The Smart Inverter is definitely not for the inexperienced. Would I buy this device for myself? The price still daunts me… but so far it is worth it as the Smart Inverter is so many different devices in one you really are saving money when buying one as it replaces pretty much everything else! In summary – A heavenly helper sent to help those into whole food cooking make food faster, easier and for more people. Loving it!

Looks great with fantastic features

I bought this a week ago and it's wonderful. Great size, plays music sounds when finished, inverter great, no cooling period after cooking. Looks great in the kitchen and so far it's easy cleaning. It takes all our large bowls & is considerably quieter than all the microwaves we have had in the past. The flush front panel looks great & is easy to use. The interior light is great, all in all a terrific product. Flush panel is perfect. Takes all large dishes and bowls and heats really quickly. Extremely happy with this product.

Cooks so well

by

This microwave oven is truly out of this world technology. My goodness it is more powerful than my precious microwave. It is so very easy to use and it has a higher watt power so it cooks quicker and more effectively. I am a big fan as who knew you can use it in a diverse amount of ways. I know I can recommend to anyone who can afford. I think it is quite expensive for what it is but it is forward thinking technology so comes with the territory I guess

Great microwave oven

For starters I cannot believe you are able to fry in the microwave oven. This product does everything! I have used it a few times at my friends place and I am starting to save some money aside to buy my own as a present :) I think anything that is all in one is a totally life saver and fabulous. Thanks for the opportunity to review this great product ;)

My extra assistant in the kitchen

by
3.95 out of 5

Having the Neo Chef on Christmas day was a lifesaver! It meant that I had an extra space to be roasting vegies when the oven was already tied up with my meats that I was cooking. It saved me a lot of time and made cooking for a large gathering possible. I would definitely recommend it as a convection it's fantastic! Better than others I've used in the past. In the video below I trial the slow cooking feature. I found it to be quite simple and easy to use. It cooked the food relatively well, although not quite as good as using a slow cooker stand alone appliance. However, when considering how many different functions this microwave has it makes things much simpler in the kitchen having one appliance that makes it possible to do everything. It is also a large size than other microwaves which is also great when using the slow cook or convection features as it allows you to use larger dishes that you would normally only be able to fit into an oven. I can't use all of my different size oven trays in the Neo Chef, but I can certainly use a lot more than in my old machine and all of my Tupperware ultra pros fit- which wasn't the case with the old machine.

Wireless Interruption

by
3.85 out of 5

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this or had the same problem but my hubby's computer is in our kitchen area and he uses a wireless headset. When the microwave is being used it must interrupt his signal and no one can hear him. Turned on and not being used it's not a problem.

No. 20 chicken defrost heaven

by
3.85 out of 5

Having only one income in the house (for the moment-I will finish my degree one day-I will -I will lol!!) and two kids and a hubby who love to eat, I am always looking out for good deals on meat and ALWAYS have a freezer full. This means a fair bit of P P and P (prior planning and preparation) to make sure I have the meat defrosted and ready for cooking. My absolute nightmare is the number 20 whole frozen chickens...they take soooo long to defrost and I can't even remember how many I've gone to cook them because they look defrosted but mustn't be in the middle because after the correct amount of time in the oven are still raw on the inside whilst being perfectly cooked on the outside. This leaves me to put it back in the oven for longer drying out the rest of the chicken and blackening the skin. Even without that I often find myself at lunch time remembering that I forgot to take something out the night before and dread having to defrost in the microwave. Get to the point I hear you say...well my no. 20 chicken dramas are over...the new microwave must have defrosted correctly as 80 minutes in the oven and the chicken was cooked perfectly the whole way through, woo hoo I jumped for joy and may or may not have given the microwave a little kiss. As a side note I would like to mention that at first when using the defrost button I was a little annoyed that you had to pick the number which corresponds to the type of meat you are cooking (my old microwave used to show it on the screen which was much easier - well it did when the display worked properly anyway) lucky for me though I remembered reading that there was a quick guide on the machine which I soon found and used. Knowing when to turn the meat over wasn't as clear cut as my old machine either...the old one displayed the words turn over and actually stopped...this one just chimes and continues defrosting.

Melted Butter

by
3.85 out of 5

Baking today on the spur of the moment as per my usual style. I find a recipe which I actually have the ingredients for, banana muffins. I get the kids ready...hands washed, aprons on, utensils out, ingredients out, preheat the oven and begin following the steps...shift the flour...add the sugar..whisk the egg and add to the cooled melted butter...whoops I forgot to melt the butter. Then I remember that this new fancy microwave has a melt and soften butter function. Only thing is even though I read the instruction manual when we first got it, I've forgotten what to do. With a baking mess and two little ones in the kitchen I choose to skip finding the instructions and try and wing it. I did manage to melt my butter but I think I over did it and it went sprayed everywhere. On the upside...it's super easy to clean inside! On that note I'll say I'm sure the function does work properly if you follow the instructions but it looks like you need to know how many units of butter you are using... I'm sure the booklet must say how much a unit is but I could remember. Would have been much easier to input the weight of the butter (I knew that as the recipe asked for 60 grams).

Hey Good Looking...

by
3.85 out of 5

...What you got cooking? That was the song that popped into my head when I first opened the box to the LG NeoChef Inverter Oven. It looks great, both the kids and hubby commented on how good it looked when they arrived home to see it set up in our kitchen after school and work. The most common words used to express its look were sleek and stylish. The black colour makes it look modern and way more cooler than our old white machine. When I turned it on I was pleasantly surprised by the lavender colour of the lights and display, it might sound strange but it looks and feels rather calming to me. Added to that calming effect is the lovely chime used to alert you to the completion of the cooking. We have an LG washing machine which also sings when it's finished so I shouldn't have been too surprised but I sure was releived. The annoying microwave beeps are gone for good! Having a quick look inside the hexagonal plate looks like it sits a lot stabler in the machine. Oh and I almost forgot the machine is a similar size to our old one (actually a little longer) and is way lighter and whisper quiet. I think this is a good thing, my Dad would probably say the opposite though, he gives everything the "heff test", if it's heavy it's good quality! On that note I'm also a little worried about getting used to not having a number pad on the microwave. I'm so used to just punching in a number it seems a little strange not to be able to do it. Also wondering if it's a little awkward to have to open the machine/leave it open to use the advanced options as they are hidden behind the door. I get that it looks better but functionality in my book should win over looks any day. Oh well...time will tell.

LG NeoChef Microwave is TO NOISY!

by
2.8 out of 5

It looks nice & it's large enough for most plate sizes. BUT !!!! It is loud and very large for what it can hold, Has anyone else found that it tips forward when the door is open. Have you tried LG customer service yet - maybe reviews on that would be useful!
