Review: Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer™ Dishwasher

The ability to do smaller loads more frequently means my kitchen benches aren't cluttered up with a heap of dirty dishes! It also means that I can quickly turnaround dishes that I've used for lunch, and they're ready for me to use at dinner, without feeling guilty about running a normal sized dishwasher that's half full. It's such a great timesaver for my family and allows me extra time with the kids, instead of being stuck washing the dishes by hand!

Every time I put the dishwasher on I need to double check that it's actually on! Of course it is on, it's just so wonderfully quiet that it makes you think twice. Makes it easy to pop it on before hopping into bed, gives me the chance to save some money by using an appliance in the off peak for electricity, but also allows us to sleep without a noisy appliance keeping us up! Thanks again fisher & paykel.

One of my favourite features is the fast wash option as with a busy family, I’m forever trying to get things done in a hurry, especially the washing up. Popping on the Fast Wash option means the washing up is done in no time and I don’t have to worry about having no clean dishes to use. The Extra Dry option is also a huge helping hand. My old dishwasher didn’t dry anything properly, so I was forever drying all the plates, cutlery and glasses before putting them away. This problem is long gone with the Extra Dry option – all the kitchen items come out dry and ready to put away.

My kids are teenagers, but we had a friend with little ones come over on the weekend and she loved that with the double drawer design, her 4.5yo could pop her plates (plastic of course) in the bottom drawer without any help. I wish I had this dishwasher when my kids were younger as it would’ve kept our kitchen much tidier if the kids could pop their utensils straight in the dishwasher. Also the Sanitize cycle would have been helpful for all their plastic plates, cutlery and cups when they were younger, but it’s great now for their drink bottles. Being teenagers who play sport for school as well as on the weekend, we seem to be washing up drink bottles constantly. The sanitize option and flexible racking in the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher makes washing up drink bottles a dream – just pop them in and they’re clean and ready for use in no time.

The Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher has an excellent range of settings which allows us to wash everything from sports drink bottles to crystal glasses. The nine settings means a comprehensive wash of all items every time. As both drawers operate independently, the dishwasher can accomodate a variety of loads.

It hasn't been a fun week at our place, we've had a sick little girl on our hands and I have a newborn, but the dishwasher has been fabulous with the sanitize function as I am madly cleaning the house, the dishwasher is madly sanitising everything for me so I don't have to worry about germs in the dishes. It's one less thing I need to worry about!

I love the two drawers. Its great to be able to load one drawer while the other one is washing. Saves a mess piling up on the kitchen bench. I just now need to educate the kids about this feature! Enjoying this very easy to use machine and the dishes and glasses are sparkling.

We have recently had our Dish Drawer installed and could not be more impressed. So far we have only used it a few times and there is nothing that it does not have. I am loving all of the features and tools that get my dishes sparkling. The two drawers are very handy as we often wouldn't will our old dishwasher for few days and as a result was not very hygienic. With the new Dish Drawer it fits perfectly one days worth of dishes and only takes a few moments to empty. I think Its fantastic!

The first thing we noticed about our new Fisher&Paykel dishwasher is how quiet it is ! When I put it on for the first time my husband and I had to keep checking it was actually running as it runs so quietly.. This feature is fantastic in our kitchen because it's open plan.

I'll admit, I was a little worried about two drawers and was worried everything wouldn't quite fit in, though I've been pleasantly surprised. Not only does it fit everything in, and I've put in pots and pans, but an added bonus I didn't think of is that I (and the kids and hubby) can put things into the dishwasher immediately instead of letting things pile up on the sink... even if I have a load going through! It makes the kitchen roomier and also appear that we are cleaner than we probably are (hehe). If unexpected guests pop past it will always seem like I have a wonderfully clean kitchen!

I love my Fisher & Paykel, the best thing apart from how clean it gets everything is being able to use only 1 drawer when I need to as I usually have just my husband and myself. It really comes into its own when I have the grandkids, family and friends over, it's a real workhorse - Economical, smart and super clean results

My experience with the Fished and Paykel Dish drawers has been incredibly positive. This dishwasher is a great size for a family and once I adjusted and tweaked the shelving etc to my liking, it really does work well for my families needs. I love how you can customise how you want the layout of your shelves to suit your familes needs.

With my last dishwasher, I was forever playing tetris trying to fit my big pots and pans in, and most of the time, I would give up and wash them all by hand. In the Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher, I can adjust the racks and flatten them down completely, which means I can fit all my large pots and pans in without any problems. This saves me a huge amount of time as it means I don’t have to hand wash them all or worry about them breaking any plates or glasses I have included in the wash.

We love to entertain but one of my least favourite parts of having friends over is the clean up afterwards as there’s normally plates, cutlery and glasses EVERYWHERE! Enter the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher! After each course we just popped everything in the drawers and voila – no mess, no fuss! Then once everyone had left, I popped the dishwasher on and everything was taken care of. The kitchen was tidy (no dirty plates lying around), and I knew we’d have sparkling results in the morning, ready for the breakfast rush.

I own quite large wine glasses and the design of my previous dishwasher made it difficult to stack them, so I would often wash them by hand which was a very fiddly process. The flexible racking of the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher means I can adjust the height of the racks and include all sorts of glasses in the wash, whether they are stemless drinking glasses or my favourite long-stemmed wine glasses.

We love the flexible racking options including tines that fold flat which is great for larger item such as pots and pans which are always difficult to wash. Using the relevant setting, they come out sparkling clean. We also love the cutlery basket that can be customised for different utensils. This means a quick clean up which makes for a happy household.

I love the fact that I have two drawers to fill as I please, as well as being able to use two different cycles to suit my needs. I find it extremely handy to be able to place all of my plastics on the delicate cycle in one dish drawer and then in the other dish draw I can use a heavy cycle for my breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. So very convenient! A+ Fisher and Paykel.

I love the double dish drawer. I got to know the product really well, as we had them at work - and they were awesome. We had three in our work kitchen, and the drawer action is smooth, the power and water use very economical, and the price is affordable. I like that smaller families have the option to not have to put on a massive dishwasher with few dishes in it. A quality Fisher and Paykel product!

I have to mention what wonderful materials have been used to make this fisher and paykel dishwasher - I have had this dish washer for a few months now and it's so easy to clean - especially the pull out draw - it's like they have coated it in silicone so it's easy to wipe clean. No spills tend to stick, which makes my life a lot easier!

We have had our dish drawers for over 12 years since we built our house and I cannot imagine ever going back to one door dishwasher. The convenience of running multiple cycles during a day and not leaving caked on dirty dishes waiting for it to fill up like a one door is great. Fantastic for parties and party prep. I love it so much so that in our new house we are going to build we are going to do 3 drawers, 2 in the kitchen and one in the butler pantry and we will also do the 2 side by side not one under each other. Highly recommend.

With 3 kids we go through ALOT of plates, bowls, cups and cutlery everyday and my fabulous double dishdrawer dishwasher keeps up with us so well! Most of the kids stuff is plastic and my old dishwasher never managed to get them dry, I had to use a tea towel as I was packing away, but this is another thing that the fisher & paykel double dishdrawer has saved me time on! I no longer have to dry before putting away, even the plastics come out dry! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new dishwasher.

The adjustable racks are one of my favourite features on this machine. Because the rack heights are adjustable it means the machine will accomodate the varying lengths of my wine glasses. Also the racks fold independently of each other. This allows me to stack cups on one side and the wine glasses on the other. Happy days.

The double drawer design has made meal times (and the clean up afterwards) SO MUCH EASIER. The kids can no longer leave their dirty plates in the sink with the excuse “the dishwasher is already on” because now, if one drawer is running, they can stack the other (if it’s not clean) or pop away the clean plates and start stacking again. BRILLIANT!

I didn't bother to apply for the Fisher & Paykel dishwasher as I had bought one about 8 months ago. I just love it. As soon as we finish our meal the dishes get stacked straight away. Out of sight as they say. As soon as breakfast is over, I load those dishes in and press a button. We use less water, I no longer have dishpan hands and my kitchen always looks clean. Everything comes out sparkling clean and having the 2 drawers is fantastic. Also there is not so much bending with it and it's so easy to empty. Don't know how I managed without it. I'm definitely in love with it.

So my brand new Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher arrived on the weekend and it’s better than I ever could have imagined. It fits perfectly into the old dishwasher’s spot and the sleek design looks great with my other appliances (mostly Fisher & Paykel too). I also love the stainless steel, especially how easy it is to keep clean. If any of the kids put their fingerprints on it, just a quick wipe and it’s as good as new. How good is that!

You know you have a good dishwasher when my 14 year old daughter evencomments that the dishes come out much cleaner than from the last machine. My last machine was a Miele and I thought it was pretty good but the Fisher nd Paykel definitely exceeds my expectations

I love my 2 draw dishwasher, I put 1 draw on more often & use both when people are over. It washes brilliantly and it's great to load as it up higher, and quite too. I used the second draw as a pot draw when not in use, so that's an added bonus.

One of the first things I noticed about the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher is just how quiet it is. Our home is an open plan design, with our kitchen opening up to our family lounge room. With our old dishwasher, we wouldn’t turn it on while we were watching TV as it was way too noisy. The Fisher & Paykel is the complete opposite. We can barely hear it when it’s running so it doesn’t disturb us when we are having family time, and I can even pop it on before we all go to bed, knowing it won’t make a racket in the night. This makes the mornings so easy as I know that if I put the dishwasher on overnight, I'm going to wake up to sparkling clean dishes ready for the breakky rush.

Yesterday my daughter had a large group of her 14 year old friends here for last day of school holidays. The dishwasher got plenty of use. The lay out of the drawers makes it so easy for anyone to load and I didn't feel I needed to rearrange things on the shelves once they loaded the drawers. I can't think of anything bad to say about my new machine.

I say a safer dishwasher because I would constantly have my old racks pulled out which was a hazard for my family. With the double drawers, I can still keep the drawers slightly ajar if I wish...without the risk of a trip hazard like the conventional dishwasher used to be. I also loved the fact that my poached egg yolk completely disappeared from my breakfast plate this morning - without a pre-scrub!!!! Amazing

We are only the two ,we don't need to run the dishwasher every day.

I love the control panel. It really is quite simple to use. Only 4 buttons to press and the symbol for using either the top or bottom drawer is really easy to see. The buttons don't seem cheap or flimsy - you can tell this dishwasher is made from high quality materials. I love that the alumination is all white with a black background and there's no hideous red lights to be seen....although, a small red padlock symbol lights up when you choose to have the child lock function on....but I can handle that!

Its so stylish and i love the stainless steel look. Its a very practical and easy to use dishwasher. The drawers are the best idea. always hated fighting the rack out of the old one and breaking the rollers. That problem is now solved with fisher and paykel. And the half load function. wash one drawer! yes, great so i dont need to wait for a full load

I'm absolutely over the moon to have been chosen to review the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Dishwasher, thank you to everyone for choosing me. I can't wait to test it all out with my family. First steps: installation! The stunning dishwasher arrived to my house right on time as Fisher & Paykel said, the team said they would call me to arrange and install and again, right on time, they did. On install day, I couldn't have been happier. Not only did the installer remove my dishwasher, but it was a little difficult as our builder had originally not made a hole big enough to thread the plugs through. It was no problem for our installer who chatted with me through the whole process, made sure I was happy with everything and just went ahead and fixed it without complaint. With three kids in this house I wanted nothing more than an easy installation and they did a brilliant job! I was asking questions about best use and he took me through it all and even ran through a cycle to get things started and test it before he left. It's a gorgeous clean stainless steel and I cannot wait to get started using it. Very impressed so far!

I love, love, love the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer and I seriously miss my old one. When we buy a house down the track I'll be making sure to get another. It's great to be able to have a dishwasher in use and still be able to fill the second draw. You need never have dirty plates on the kitchen bench AT ALL. It's great. The only problem that I did have is that some of the larger cooking pots didn't quite fit into the DishDrawer but I think there are probably other regular dishwasher models that wouldn't fit them either.

I've never in my life had a dishwasher. I've always been the family dishwasher. I never realised how much easier life would be with a dishwasher, so I kept putting off buying one. So glad I bought this one. It looks great in my kitchen. It's super quiet. Very low on water consumption, important cos we are on rank water. And everything comes out shiney and squeaky clean

So, last night I used both drawers for the 1st time. I was pleased to be able to fit 4 large pots/bowls in the lower drawer and then breakfast, lunch and dinners dishes in the top drawer. Again, my dishes came out sparkly clean and extremely dry which I love! I'd say the only negative I have at this stage which is nothing to do with the dishwashers performance BUT the need to use 2 tablets per wash if you need to use the 2 draws...it would be quite pricey to use two tablets each day...

It has almost been 1 whole week since I got "dishy" installed....the fantastic thing is, it doesn't feel like a painstakingly annoying chore anymore....and I think the major reason for tha, is I don't have to play dishes tetris whilst bending over for 10 minutes trying to fit everything in. The layout of the dishwasher is excellent. I love having those extra colapsable shelves to put my cups, glasses and large knives in what would usually be dead space in other dishwashers. The space that the Fisher and Paykel dish drawer utilises really is remarkable! I'm just not the biggest fan of the attached kickboard to the bottom drawer...I wish the kickboard was independent because it doesn't look that great when the bottom drawer is open.

So, I did my very first FAST wash just now....WOW! I had to walk right up to the dishwasher to see whether it was actually on...it's so quiet! I found the controls quite easy to use...although I did have to familiarise myself with the instruction manual...which I don't think was a bad thing. I love the fact that the fast wash only took 35 minutes and the dishes came out nice and clean! I cannot believe i'm about to say this, but I can't wait for tonight's dishes so I can put it through it's paces again! I must also commend Fisher and Paykel for their outstanding customer service. The technician who came out today was professional, thorough and very helpful....not to mention On Time!!! Stay tuned Mum's...

Lastnight I used the Delicate Wash for all my weeks plastics (lunchboxes, containers, drink bottles etc..). When I opened up the dish drawers this morning, I was happy to see everything was nice and clean...but a tad disappointed to see how wet all the plastic items still were...I know that plastics in the dishwasher can't dry as well as your crockery and glasses - but I was secretly hoping that this dishwasher was going to blow me away in this department - but unfortunately, I still had to whip out the teatowel - ho-hum!

I was dying to test the dish drawer with my baked on Lasagne. All of my previous dishwashers left a lasagne border around the edges/corners of the baking dish. Unfortunately, I still had tiny lasagne bake stuck within 3 of 4 corners of the baking dish. But, having said that, it was a significant improvement compared to my other dishwashers lasagne washes.

After a good 3 weeks of solid dual dishwashing - I thought I might try and clean the filter area as I noticed some residue on some dishes in a few of my most recent washes. I found it really challenging trying to remove the racks from both the dish drawers....and I think it's because of the compartment where you put the dishwashing powder and rinse-aid....it stops the racks from easily lifting out so you can access the filter....sad face.
