Kentucky Style Chicken Thigh Fillets are my favourite product from the summer range!

by

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. That just about sums up my love for these chicken thigh fillets. My kids love them too! They have the right amount of spice and amazing flavour. They are nice and juicy, but have a lovely crunchy crust. They only take a few minutes each side on a frying pan to cook. Yes please, I'll have some more! :)

So at first I thought, yep I’ll grab these quick and simple! But omg was I wrong, not only where they super easy to make but also soo yumm! The kids enjoyed them that much that I ended up slicing some up and making my sons wraps out of them for school the next day! Such a hit of flavour that everyone can enjoy, not only that super affordable for the family as well!

Delicious meal

by
5 out of 5

The Kentucky style thigh fillets were quick and easy to cook. I choose to fry them on the stove top as its too hot to use the oven. They turn out perfect and tasted great. I paired it with the woolworths tropical salad. Which tasted amazing. I have never had that pair of dressing before. Chilli and mango went very well i was just dissapointed the salad didn't have much cucumber in it. I will defiently buy these again as it was a hit in my house.

I would definitely buy them again. Delicious crispy coating and the chicken was moist and tender with just enough spice. My husband loved them and he doesn't like spicy food. I shallow fried them and they were very quick and easy to prepare. Paired with the tropical summer salad made a great meal.

Woolworths Chicken Thigh Fillets Kentucky Style

by
4.94 out of 5

Having a fussy eater for a son I can only praise this delicious product and recommend it for even the fussiest of eaters. My son has a very limited appetite when I comes to certain foods, especially chicken. The Woolworths Kentucky Style Chicken Thigh Fillets passed his first test, which is the visual appeal then followed on strongly by excelling in his next criteria which is taste. He said he prefers it too any other chicken he has had, including KFC. So now if I'm stuck for ideas I know the Woolworths Kentucky Style Chicken Thigh Fillets are sure to please and won't be fed as left overs to the dog, as there is never any left.

by

I had some of the chicken left over so I made it into this delicious wrap. The chicken still was really moist and full of flavour when cold, and in future I will buy and cook extra up so I can use them in wraps for lunches through the week! yum!

This is the burger I made for my hubby with the Woolworths Kentucky style thigh fillet. Packed full of flavour and really moist, it made a lovely change from a regular chicken pattie in a burger. They were really quick and easy to cook and make, so great for those nights when you just don't have time (or don't really feel like cooking!)

Easy, Versatile and Delicious!

by
4.94 out of 5

I was lucky enough to try these Kentucky style thigh fillets, and made them over the weekend. I usually only make chicken fillets with chicken breast, so wasn't 100% sure I would like these, but I was honestly really surprised - I loved them!! first of all I thought they were a bit expensive at $8 for two fillets as I didn't think it would be enough for both me and my husband, but after cooking them I realised just how thick and filling they were, and there was enough for us both, plus I didn't eat all of mine, so made the leftovers into a wrap the next day for lunch! They are very versatile - I had mine with some steakhouse chips, corn and some salad, and I made hubby's into a burger. Both worked really well and tasted delicious, and the wrap was so nice the next day with the cold chicken! The fillets were nice and moist on the inside (so much more than a breast fillet!) and the coating was crispy and crunchy, a perfect combination! One thing I didn't like was the coating fell of in some large chunks on one of the pieces, but not sure if its something that happens alot or if it was just a piece that wasn't crumbed well, as the other piece was fine. They had a really nice mild spice flavor to them - it wasn't a spicy hot spice, just a mild spice that kids would be able to enjoy as well. I would actually buy these again, as I loved how easy and versatile they were - not to mention quick to cook! Thanks for the opportunity to try these, I will definitely recommend and buy them again.

Easy Midweek Meal

by
4.88 out of 5

What a wonderful easy solution for a mid week meal! We loved trying the Kentucky style chicken thigh fillets. Very yummy and tasty - juicy and so easy! We had ours shallow fried in the pan and served with an woollies Asian style coleslaw and a squeeze of fresh lime. The chicken was crispy and perfect for a light, midweek summer meal. I would buy these again for sure, I think it might become one of our go to easy after work mid week summer meals. 2 big thumbs up from us! Thanks for choosing us to be part of the review team!

I have reviewed the Fillets and for a novice cook like myself these made dinner so much easier for the family. I added a coleslaw premade and added walnuts and the whole meal was delicious. The fillets are quick cooking and the crumbing isn’t too thick. My daughters who are picky eaters enjoyed these cut up into little squares. I’ll definitely try these again

by

I found the kentucky style Chicken Thigh Fillets easily at woolworths which speaks to the clear and easy to spot packaging. I tried these as a quick and healthy lunch option on a busy day. I popped them onto a tray, sprayed them with a little cooking oil and slid them into the oven. Easy. When they were done they smelled delicious and were a lovely golden colour. They didnt feel soggy like some crumbed chickens do when cooked in the oven, so that gets a thumbs up. I found the crumb did come away from the chicken quite easily when cutting it but I feel if i had shallow fried them first before oven baking it would have prevented this. The flavour was delicious and wasn't spicy, which please my 4 year old! The kentucky style chicken thigh fillets were a big hit with the hubby and kids so would glady purchase in future.

Yummm

by
4.88 out of 5

After trying to find them in both our local Woolworths for over a week, I finally located them. We used them as a quick meal. Popped them in the oven came put tender on the inside and crispy on the out. ( I don't like over cooked dry chicken) I planned on using a bun and making a chicken burger but had no buns. So instead I used bread I did have to cot them in to two to fit on the bread. After adding mayo and lettuce it was yummy. I will be buying again for a quick meal. They are priced a bit high at $8 for 2 thighs. If you had a big family. It would be a big cost. I was expecting them to be like in smaller pieces.

A Tasty, Easy Meal Idea

by
4.88 out of 5

I am glad the MoM gave me a voucher to purchase a pack, it was a lovely gift and a nice surprise! Though the fillets are a little pricey at $8 for 2 they are big enough to serve with a salad and have most stomachs satisfied. We served them with a fresh salad and a devilled egg on the side. The fillets are delicious! Baked in the oven, we found them to be crisp on the outside and so moist inside - heavenly! The whole family of 4 loved them and we will be getting them again. Serving suggestions - add a salad of choice and some chips, or as we are going to try next time, as a fillet for a chicken burger.

I bought the Simply Roast - Chicken Roasting Portions Rosemary and Garlic, as both of my local Woolworths stores had sold out of the Kentucky Thighs (they must be good!). I found the flavour really lovely, and my whole family enjoyed them. It was a nice quick solution to a baked dinner during my working week, and served with baked veges for a wholesome meal.

The Kentucky chicken fillets from woolworths tasted so yummy. Woolies have discovered the secret herbs and spices mix, it taste just like KFC chicken; without the grease. Everyone in my house demolished their serving. The kids kept asking for more. On a hot night it was so good with a side salad.

Super tasty and quick to cook

by
4.75 out of 5

I recently brought the Woolworths Kentucky style chicken Thigh Fillets to try for dinner. The kentucky style thigh fillets were a hit with the whole family! Super tasty and quick and easy to cook. The pack came with two good sized thigh fillets crumbed in a delicious Kentucky style flavour. I chose to shallow fry the thigh fillets. My only issue would be if I had a bigger family it would be a bit costly to feed the whole family at $8 a pack. We are big meat eaters so tend to have more meat in our dinners than i packet would allow. Other than that I would highly recommend the Woolworths Kentucky style chicken Thigh Fillets!!!

The Kentucky style chicken fillets were amazing. My family kept going back for seconds. They were very easy to cook. I haven’t seen them in a while, but I hope they come back in stock soon.

Woolworths Kentucky Style Chicken Thigh Fillets are Easy Pleasy!

by
4.56 out of 5

I was wrapped not to have to coat the chook myself and end up with a meal that you can barely tell I skipped a few steps. I'm also surprised at the great crunch that I got from the crumb. I have cooked this both in the oven and fryer both with great results. The most popular with my mob was mixed warm into the tropical salad ( also part of the summer range). Fingers crossed they add them to their range all year round.

Quick easy convient meal but i found that at more then $8 a packet for a family of 4 quite expensive i had to buy another packet as the voucher was only enough for one packet. I had to add veggies and potato gems as its not enough for a meal by itself. They tasted delicious and we liked how crunchy it was

Really Yummy Chicken Fillets - Our Family's Favourite!

by
4.5 out of 5

This is definitely our family's favourite. So delicious and easy to prepare for a quick weeknight dinner! I came across this product when it was reduced at a local Woolies store. I pan fried the fillets and served it with lettuce & mayo as a chicken burger. It was an instant winner, as hubby loved it (he can be picky, hence I am happy that he loved it) and my LO loved it too. I loved it too, and I think anyone who likes chicken thigh fillets will enjoy it too!

These chicken thigh fillets were amazing! All 3 of my boys raved about it and asked for more before they even finished what was on their plate. I cooked mine in the oven for the recommended time and they came out super crunchy yet still moist inside. We had the chicken with some steamed vegetables and potato bake. After dinner the kids wanted to know when I can buy it again! At $8 a pack, it’s a bit too costly to feed a family of 5 as I need 2 packs then have to bulk it up with other vegetables.

Delicious as a Chicken Burger Too

by
4.44 out of 5

This time around we grilled the chicken fillets and put them on burger buns with lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumber, carrot and master 8 had his with tomato sauce. They once again delivered on their promise and admittedly we grow our own tomatoes and cucumbers, the meal only cost $20 for 4. Well worth it and the kids are wanting to know when we are having them again! Sadly I forgot about taking a photo until they were almost finished :-(

Nice quick healthier option

by
4.31 out of 5

The Kentucky Thigh Fillets had a nice flavour, they weren't too strong or weak in seasoning and they crisped up quite well in the oven. For the purposes of this review, I kept things simple, by cooking the thigh fillets in the oven and serving with a side salad. I personally believe these would make the perfect chicken Foccacia, with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayo... Just thinking about it is making me hungry!

by

I teamed the Kentucky Style thigh fillets up with the Southern Style coleslaw kit for a super easy hump day dinner. We usually only eat chicken breast so I was hesitant to try these but they were really delicious! All done, nice & crispy in 18 minutes in the air fryer. The kids inhaled the chicken so that’s a huge thumbs up from them! I do think they are a bit on the pricey side considering it’s only 2 pieces of thigh per pack, so to feed our family we need 2 packs. I would probably only buy them again if they were on special or we really needed something quick & easy.

We paired our Kentucky Style thigh fillets with a Woolworths salad kit for a super quick & easy mid week meal. We usually only eat chicken breast so I was hesitant to try these, but I must say, they were delicious! No chewy, fatty bits and perfectly crisp on the outside. I cooked them in our air fryer for 18 minutes & they were perfect. I do think they are a bit on the pricey side considering there are only 2 pieces of thigh fillet in each packet. I would probably buy them again if they were on special or we were needing something really quick to chuck together. But the current price would exclude them from being a regular on our menu.

Home style Cruncy Kentucky chicken burgers.

by
4.19 out of 5

Instead of just having the yummy Woolworths Kentucky style fillet's with a salad which we will do next time. I cooked the chicken in the oven, while preparing the rest of the burger ingredients. Which included fresh hamburger rolls toasted, Coleslaw cruncy salad, pineapple, cheese, fresh home cooked beetroot and garlic mayonnaise. Way better than take away would ever be and so worth it and healthier by far. My husband was very impressed with the mild tasty spice's and even had a second burger.

We decided to give the Kentucky Chicken Thigh fillets another go. This time we tried a DIY platter. The older two were both happy to give the Kentucky Style Chicken Thighs another go. The baby of the family (3yo) still says they are too spicy for him. This way worked well and the thigh fillets were actually enough for the three children and one adult (no Dad for tea tonight), even though there is only the two in a pack. As they were sliced we were obviously a less generous in our servings. We are going to try them in wraps next time.

As a person who prefers chicken breast over thighs, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste of crumb and the moisture of these fillets. For a nutritious, home cooked Kentucky style meal, this was a hit with our whole family. The two fillets, along with the roasted vegetables I prepared were enough for my husband, our toddler and myself. At $8 a tray of two they are good value for money. I would be happy to have these again.

Third times the charm - better and cheaper than take away

by
4.06 out of 5

This is the third time we have tried these. This time we decided to keep things simple with wraps. Although there is just the two fillets in the pack, they are big enough that once they were sliced it was ample to make wraps for a family of five. We chose to cook the fillets in the oven. They came out perfectly crispy on the outside yet the meat remained tender and tasty. I served ours with a simple salad filling and a wasabi mayo (adults only). It was delicious and seconds were had by those that were quick enough to grab it before we ran out. Definitely a winner!

Couldnt find these at first on my local woolworths so had to go on a "chicken hunt". Very easy to prepare and they cooked beautifully, coating was crispy and not oily. Im really not a fan of chicken thighs but was willing to try. I was very pleasantly surprised and would have thought they were breast fillets if I hadnt seen the packet. Kids even went back for seconds so that is always a sign something tastes good. Slightly spicy but definitely not hot. Only thing I struggled with was the price 2 fillets for $8 makes it expensive to feed a family of 4 or more.

The Woolworths chicken thigh Fillets Kentucky Style are very tasty. The smell as they cook is so mouthwatering. The suggested cooking time doesn’t give a crispy shell but does still taste great. I cooked them for a mums gathering/play date. Even the younger kids loved them too. One main thing that all is mums agreed on was that they were a little fatty but being thigh fillets it is to be expected. Whether made into wraps or used in a salad the Kentucky style thigh fillets are a crowd pleaser and very easy to cook.

These thigh fillets were so popular that i almost couldn't get them. After managing to snag the last packet, i took it home and found that these thigh fillets were so easy to cook and came out beautifully crispy. They are kid friendly because while they do have some flavour, it is quite mild. i found that they were quite expensive given that they were woolworths brand, but for a quick easy dinner, they are great and go with anything.

Tasty but on more expensive side

by
3.69 out of 5

We were lucky enough to get chosen for the Kentucky Style Chicken Thigh reviews, which was awesome as we wanted to try them anyway. I had a little bit of trouble locating them at the store as the packaging didn't stand out well on the shelf. I actually walked past them twice before finding them, even though I had guessed the correct section they would be in. Brighter or more distinctive packaging would help the product stand out on the shelf. Two fillets isn't quite enough for a family of five so we bulked it out with a hefty salad. As the salad was homegrown it kept the price per meal reasonable, but if we had needed to buy more chicken (at $8 for two) and salad it would quickly add up. We cooked our chicken in the oven. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The flavour was tasty and suitable for young tastebuds, though my youngest did think it was a little bit too spicy for him. We would eat them again, but they would not be a meal we would eat weekly.

We eat a lot of chicken and I was looking for something a little different and decided to give this a go. I really like the extra spice on this chicken, the kids - not so much, it was too spicy for them. I do however prefer chicken breast over thigh breast, but this one is actually not bad. Only a subtle difference in the flavour. I'd recommend.

the first thing I thought when I picked up the Thigh's at Woolies was "Gosh! Glad I'm not using my own money for this!" At $8 for 2 thighs, it was way beyond our usual price range. But hey, let's give it a go, right? to be fair, the thighs were enormous - I could easily make those 2 thighs into a meal for 4 with a bit of work. I cooked them (my husband cooked them) in the oven for 20 minutes and they were ready - they really were incredibly easy to prepare. We served them to an incredibly picky 11yo and a slightly less picky 6yo (with potato gems and carrot because veggies) to see what they thought. I had high hopes for these because they smelled a bit like KFC, and who doesn't like those 11 herbs and spices? Well, my incredibly picky 11yo, for a start. Even with tomato sauce she wouldn't eat it, so she ended up making herself a sandwich. However, after cutting the thigh up into 'chicken nuggets' my slightly less picky 6yo ate 3/4 of a thigh before declaring himself full. My husband ate and enjoyed the 6yo's leftovers (but he'll eat anything) and I finished my daughter's leftovers over the next few days in a salad and in fried rice, where it was really tasty! So 3 out of the 4 people in my family enjoyed this one, which is pretty good. I may buy it again for a special meal, perhaps sliced up into strips and put in wraps for lunches, but for us it is really a bit expensive to buy every week. However, for something a bit different that is healthy but feels a bit 'naughty' (KFC anyone?) I would recommend. Thank you MoM for the chance to try something new!

Quick and easy

Was so excited to be offered this review out of all the others. So much so that I bought an extra packet to cover the family. Was super pumped and excited when I got home. I knew exactly what I was going to cook with it and in my mind how it was going to taste. I normally cook my schnitzels in shallow fry so did not hesitate in having an ease of cooking. Well let’s just say that under NO circumstances do you place the schnitzel in ALMOST hot oil. It soaks up super fast and there is nothing you can do about it. I only imagined the taste would have to be crunchy and with a hint of spice. Not soggy and a little tasty. I ate it and imagined the taste to be amazing, however my kids and Hubby did not have such a vivid imagination. Clearly after reading the other MoMs reviews I knew it was my cooking that destroyed it. My downfall with this product cooked to perfection or not is a little pricey for a family of 5.5. At $8 for two schnitzels large or not can get quite costly to feed my family. Was happy that I was able to review and can’t wait for many more for me to excel at rather than do a mediocre cook.

Wasn't the best quality for the price.

My family of five tried these tonight and weren't overly impressed. While these very easy and quick to prepare which is always a plus, the meat inside was very inconsistent, some parts were really nice, whilst others I found quite hard to swallow. Two of my family members refused to eat it but the rest of us were fine to finish it off. The flavour itself was quite tasty. I feel like it would be much nicer using breast than thigh. I also feel like the price was a bit high for it being thigh.

Healthy alternative to KFC

First thing my kids said is "this is way better than KFC"...I loved it was just take out of the packet, put on a tray and cook, no mess or fuss. Chicken was full of flavour and really moist, super versatile, could be cooked ahead and served cold in school lunches. I did feel it was a bit on the pricey side, I can buy a whole chicken for the same price which gives us a hot meal and cold meat for sandwiches the next day.

Tasty but not family size

Great chicken was tasty and easy to use came out very moist still. My fussy 9yr old thought it was delicious. Very versatile one had the chicken with salad and chip husband and other child in burger. Was only 2 pieces which a family of 4 at $8 pkt not good value as coles has 4 chicken keiv at $9 pkt which they also love. So as a treat we would have agian very easy to use was a hit however very expensive as a option for family of 4 as i need at least 2 pkts for only one meal. Because of this i give it a 3 and 1/2 star rate

Quick meal for busy Summer nights.

The Woolworth Kentucky style chicken thigh fillets were nice for a quick summer meal. I do however find at approx $23.50 a kilo its on the pricey side, each packet is only $8 but it wasn't enough to feed my family of 5. The crumb was nice, not very spicy, the meat was juicy and easy to cook. There was a bit of fat / gristle in sections of the meat. Its probably not something I would purchase again.

Kentucky style chicken thighs

Well, not normally something I’d buy, I’m not a fan really of KFC but when it’s only going to cost you your opinion, easy cook, little effort then it’s still a plus! Looked great in the package, smelt amazing baking in the oven, yep I took the healthier option as much as us aussies have grown accustomed to a good fried snitty, the crumb on the chicken came out looking fab... and must say it tasted pretty good too. Big BUT though, the actual chicken was fatty and slightly disappointing, was still moist though, but in saying that, I’d have enjoyed it better had it been breast... overall the flavour is there, and I coupled it with an awesome salad, but it was too much for me and couldn’t finish the meal. I’d love to say it was the best thing I’ve ever tried, but it’s not something I’d rush out to buy again, but possibly if I needed something easy.

Easy, quickly and tasty

I didn’t actually get to review the chicken as 2 locals stores didn’t have stock. I reviewed the lamb and mint kebabs from the simply range instead. They were quick to cook and quite tasty. My 3yo who doesn’t generally enjoy meat ate two of them!

Tasty, tender but not crunchy

by

Was really happy they were thighs. Much more tender and were quite tasty. A bit too peppery for my kids though. I would have liked it to be more crunchy. I baked mine in the oven, so did not get as crunchy as I’d hoped. I use a lot of pankow crumbs which get really crunchy. These crumbs were a bit mushy.
